  • BIM(Building Information Modeling) in the architecture, VDC(Virtual Design and Construction) defined CIFE(Center for Integrated Facility Engineering) of Stanford university in USA, and Data-driven design definition issued by TECDOC-1284 of IAEA are doing data-level design generated by 3D CAD technology, integrating and managing related information based on the 3D model, and Using 3D models effectively during nuclear power plant life cycle. 3D model of domestic nuclear power industry is using interference review between design fields, 4D system linked 3D construction model and schedule activity, but the 3D model generated in the design phase is effectively not utilized during the construction, operation, decommissioning. therefore, This study is aimed to suggest 3D model LOD(Level of Detail) advancement method through the analysis of existing literature, 2D drawings, and 3D models throughout nuclear power plant lifecycle.

UAV와 BIM 정보를 활용한 시설물 외관 손상의 위치 측정 방법 (Structural Damage Localization for Visual Inspection Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with Building Information Modeling Information)

  • This study introduces a method of estimating the 3D coordinates of structural damage from the detection results of visual inspection provided in 2D image coordinates using sensing data of UAV and 3D shape information of BIM. This estimation process takes place in a virtual space and utilizes the BIM model, so it is possible to immediately identify which member of the structure the estimated location corresponds to. Difference from conventional structural damage localization methods that require 3D scanning or additional sensor attachment, it is a method that can be applied locally and rapidly. Measurement accuracy was calculated through the distance difference between the measured position measured by TLS (Terrestrial Laser Scanner) and the estimated position calculated by the method proposed in this study, which can determine the applicability of this study and the direction of future research.

  • 건설프로젝트 관리 과정에는 수많은 정보가 존재한다. BIM(Building Information Modelling)은 정보전달의 매개체로써 공정 및 원가 정보를 관리하여 4D(3D+Time), 5D(4D+Cost) 시뮬레이션 등 다양한 이익을 얻을 것으로 예상되었다. 그러나 BIM 활용과정에 따른 정보의 연계 문제, BIM 객체기반 공정/원가 정보의 한계, BIM 소프트웨어 호환성 문제 등으로 인해 BIM을 활용한 공정 및 원가정보의 관리는 적극적으로 활용되지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 위의 문제점들을 개선하고자 IFC(Industry Foundation Classes)활용 BIM기반 공정/원가 통합관리 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 먼저, 정보 입력 문제와 정보 표현의 한계점을 개선하기 위해 공간을 최소단위로 공정 및 원가정보를 통합 관리하는 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 데이터 호환성 문제를 해결하기 위해 국제 표준 데이터 포맷인 IFC를 활용하여 앞서 구축한 데이터베이스의 정보와 BIM 소프트웨어를 연계하여 BIM을 기반으로 한 공정/원가 정보의 통합관리를 시도하였다. 이는 BIM기반 공정/원가 통합관리를 위한 정보 처리 프로세스의 기초를 제공하며, 정보 요구에 대한 정확한 이해를 도와 의사소통의 정확성을 향상시켜 BIM기반 공정/원가관리의 효율성을 높일 것으로 예상된다.

  • 시공단계의 BIM 활용 시 대표적인 기능은 4D시스템에 의한 공정 시뮬레이션 기능을 들수 있다. 4D시뮬레이션을 위해서는 공정 생성 후 공정별 3D모델의 연동과정이 필수적으로 요구된다. 설계단계에 작성된 3D모델은 공정 정보를 고려하지 않으므로 시공단계 적용을 위한 공정 정보의 생성과 3D모델의 연동과정에는 실무적 애로사항이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 설계단계에 작성된 3D모델에서 HDBSCAN 알고리즘을 이용하여 시공단계의 공정 정보를 추출한 후에 위상정렬 알고리즘 적용으로 선후행관계를 파악하고 공정정보를 자동으로 생성하는 방법론을 제시한다. 생성된 공정 정보는 설계 3D모델을 기반으로 생성되었으므로, 4D시스템에서 공정과 3D모델간의 공통 매개변수에 의해 상호간 자동 연동되는 정보로 활용되어 4D시스템의 실무적 활용성을 배가할 수 있다. 제시된 방법론은 4개 교량에 적용하여 공정 정보 생성결과를 확인하였고, 4D시스템에 적용하여 공정과 3D모델 연동과정의 간편화를 확인하였다.

BIM 기반의 설계를 위한 프리캐스트 콘크리트 승강장의 정보모델링 (Information Modeling for BIM Based Design of Precast Concrete Platform)

  • The construction method using PC(Precast Concrete) has been widely used because the method can shorten the construction period and improve construction quality. In this paper, through the analysis of present design process for PC railway platform, design parameters on the geometry and properties were extracted and 3D information models for PC railway platform were constructed by the parametric modeling technique. Furthermore, the interface module was developed to link 3D models to the structural analysis/design sheet and database program using VBA(Visual Basic Application). This information model could be used in various areas including structural analysis and design, 2D drawing, quantity estimation and 4D simulation including clash detection.

  • 건설 프로젝트에 BIM기술이 적용되기 시작하면서, BIM은 전 생애주기 동안 다양한 분야의 정보를 생산하고 활용될 수 있도록 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 BIM기반의 물량산출 데이터를 활용하여 생산성을 분석할 수 있는 방안을 제시할 목적으로 진행되었다. 본 연구에서는 3D BIM기반 모델을 기반으로 부재의 물량정보를 활용하여 물량을 산출하였으며, 이를 활용하여 현장 생산성을 도출하여 통합 생산성 기준과 비교 분석하였다. 향후 본 논문의 연구 결과를 기반으로 생산성 저하요인을 분석하여 현장생산성을 향상시킬 수 있는 관리방안 도출이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

  • The aim of the study is to develop the 3D visualization of Building Information Model and integrated 4D model for optimization of resources in the construction project. This study discuss the process of methodology and creation of 4D model of the project and simulate it to monitor the workflow at the site. Different stages of the construction process and activities are generated by using Revit and MS Project. MS project has been used for creation of the schedules and these are linked with the Revit for 3D modeling. The time used as the fourth dimension and 4D model created by using Navisworks Time liner software. Narges shopping center is presented as a case study to realize the actual uses and benefits of Building Information Model (BIM). Narges shopping mall is located in Tehran, Iran. As a part of Hekmat master plan, Narges shopping center is an 11 stores building with a total area of 30000 Sq.m. This shopping and entertainment center is comprised of 150 retails and two multi-use public halls with a capacity of 400 persons each and underground parking with total 400 parking space. The main purpose of architecture was to create an urban public center along with its revolving, spiral like form and an ever changing continuous façade by means of different colors, materials, which is in harmony with the other building of the master plan. The approximate cost of the project is $17 million and duration of the project schedule is 30 months. The developed Building Information Model enabled us to identify the potential collisions or clashes between various structural and architectural systems. 4D model has been used for limiting the interaction between subcontractors installing the different systems so rework could be avoided and productivity maximized. It is also observed that the utility of BIM for construction stimulation and clash detection is the best suitable method. Clash detection before the implementation of work is highly recommended to avoid rework.

Building Integrated Vegetation Systems into the New Sainsbury's Building Based on BIM

  • Today, there is a growing need of environment-friendly buildings, so-called 'green', facilities, and energy saving buildings to decrease environmental pollutants released into cities by construction activities. Green-Building Information Modeling (Green-BIM) is a purpose-built solution which supports to forecast energy consumption of 3-D model of a building by augmenting its primary 3-D measurements (width, height and depth) with many more dimensions (e.g. time, costs, social impacts and environmental consequences) throughout a series of sequential phases in the lifecycle of a building. The current study was carried out in order to integrate vegetation systems (particularly green roof and green wall systems) and investigate thermal performance of the new Sainsbury's building which will be built on Melton road, Leicester, United Kingdom. Within this scope, a 3-D building model of the news Sainsbury's building was first developed in $Autodesk^{(R)}$ $Revit^{(R)}$ and this model was then simulated in $Autodesk^{(R)}$ $Ecotect^{(R)}$once weather data of the construction site was obtained from $Autodesk^{(R)}$ Green Building $Studio^{(R)}$. This study primarily analyzed data from (1) solar radiation, (2) heat gains and losses, and (3) heating and cooling loads simulation to evaluate thermal performance of the building integrated with vegetation system or conventionally available envelops. The results showed that building integrated vegetation system can potentially reduce internal solar gains on the building rooftops by creating a 'bioshade'. Heat gains and losses through roofs and walls were markedly diminished by offering greater insulation on the building. Annual energy loads for heating and cooling were significantly reduced by vegetation more significantly through the green roof system in comparison to green wall system.

토목공사 기획 및 설계단계의 BIM 적용방안 연구 (BIM Application for Civil Engineering Project in Planning and Design Phases)

  • 국내에서 BIM의 실무 활용은 건축공사 중심으로 적용되고 있다. 건축공사의 부위별 객체 특성이 정형적, 수직적, 반복적인 형태를 갖는 반면에 토목공사의 객체 특성은 비정형적, 수평적, 비반복적인 형태를 갖으므로 3D객체 구성이 어렵기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 토목공사의 기획단계부터 설계단계까지의 업무 및 정보관리의 문제점을 파악한 후 BIM기반에서의 적용 프로세스를 제안하며, 제시한 프로세스를 기반으로 BIM시스템을 구축하여 교량공사를 대상으로 실무 적용성을 검토한다.

  • The CM(Construction Manager) of D-university has been seeking the advice of my BIM-team to adopt CM(Construction Management) and BIM best practices to improve project delivery results, and has authored best practice reports for spatial validation, BIM, 3D, 4D and 5D performance. Building Information Modeling(BIM) Process, Integration, and Adoption looks at BIM implementation from a company and project level laying out a process for companies to use BIM. Following this studies, participants will be able to: 1. BIM participants has been creating a BIM process diagram for a project, and has been evaluating and selecting process options for a specific BIM project. 2. BIM participants has been describing the roles and responsibilities of participants in the BIM process, and has been communicating the BIM process to management, colleagues, and project stakeholders. 3. BIM participants has been identified consistent factors influencing BIM return on investment at the project level and the company level, and has been outlining a process for BIM adoption on the project level and company level.
