We have designed and developed a new ladder type tetrafused ${\pi}$-conjugated building block such as dihydroindolo[3,2-b]indole (DINI) and investigated its role as an electron rich unit. The photovoltaic properties of a new semiconducting ${\pi}$-conjugated polymer, poly[[5,10-bisoctyl-5,10-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]indole-[5,6- bis(octyloxy)-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole]], represented by PDINI-OBTC8 are described. The new polymer PDINI-OBTC8 was synthesized in donor-acceptor (D-A) fashion, where fused ${\pi}$-conjugated tetracyclic DINI, and 5,6-bis(octyloxy)-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl) benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (OBTC8) were employed as electron rich (donor) and electron deficient (acceptor) moieties, respectively. The conventional bulk heterojunction (BHJ) device structure ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PDINI-OBTC8:PCB71M/LiF/Al was utilized to fabricate polymer solar cells (PSCs), which comprises the blend of PDINI-OBTC8 and [6,6]-phenyl-$C_{71}$-butyric acid methyl ester ($PC_{71}BM$) in BHJ network. A BHJ PSC that contain PDINI-OBTC8 delivered power conversion efficiency (PCE) value of 1.68% with 1 vol% of 1,8-diidooctane (DIO) under the illumination of A.M 1.5G 100 $mW/cm^2$.
Silicon (Si) is one of the promising active materials to replace the widely used graphite because of its low electrochemical potential and high theoretical capacity. However, Si anodes still face in problems with the huge volume expansion and continuous decomposition of the electrolyte during repeated charge and discharge processes. To address these issues, a cross-linkable waterborne polyurethane (CWPU) based on a bio-oil, castor oil, was prepared and reacted with Tris(2,3-epoxypropyl) isocyanurate (TGIC) linkers, resulting in the formation of a mechanically robust 3D network structure. Si anodes fabricated with the CWPU-TGIC exhibited stable cycling performances and excellent discharge capacities. The results revealed that the CWPU-TGIC binder efficiently accommodates the large volume change for Si anode during charge and discharge cycles. Overall, the eco-friendly binder shows great promise in improving the electrochemical performances of Si anodes.
We present a two-step evolution system that produces controllable virtual creatures in physically simulated 3D environment. Previous evolutionary methods for virtual creatures did not allow any user intervention during evolution process, because they generated a creature's shape, locomotion, and high-level behaviors such as target-following and obstacle avoidance simultaneously by one-time evolution process. In this work, we divide a single system into manageable two sub-systems, and this more likely allowsuser interaction. In the first stage, a body structure and low-level motor controllers of a creature for straight movement are generated by an evolutionary algorithm. Next, a high-level control to follow a given path is achieved by a neural network. The connection weights of the neural network are optimized by a genetic algorithm. The evolved controller could follow any given path fairly well. Moreover, users can choose or abort creatures according to their taste before the entire evolution process is finished. This paper also presents a new sinusoidal controller and a simplified hydrodynamics model for a capped-cylinder, which is the basic body primitive of a creature.

Recently, as high resolution satellites data have been serviced, frequent DSM (Digital Surface Model) generation over urban areas has been possible. In addition, it is possible to detect changes using a high-resolution DSM at building level such that various methods of building change detection using DSM have been studied. In order to detect building changes using DSM, we need to generate a DSM using a stereo satellite image. The change detection method using D-DSM (Differential DSM) uses the elevation difference between two DSMs of different dates. The D-DSM method has difficulty in applying a precise vertical threshold, because between the two DSMs may have elevation errors. In this study, we focus on the urban structure change detection using D-nDSM (Differential nDSM) based on nDSM (Normalized DSM) that expresses only the height of the structures or buildings without terrain elevation. In addition, we attempted to reduce noise using a morphological filtering. Also, in order to improve the roadside buildings extraction precision, we exploited the urban road network extraction from nDSM. Experiments were conducted for high-resolution stereo satellite images of two periods. The experimental results were compared for D-DSM, D-nDSM, and D-nDSM with road extraction methods. The D-DSM method showed the accuracy of about 30% to 55% depending on the vertical threshold and the D-nDSM approaches achieved 59% and 77.9% without and with the morphological filtering, respectively. Finally, the D-nDSM with the road extraction method showed 87.2% of change detection accuracy.
Effective glass frit compositions enabled to absorb laser energy, and to seal a commercial dye-sensitized solar-cell-panel substrate were developed by using $V_2O_5$-based glasses with various amounts of $TeO_2$ substitution. The latter was intended to increase the lifetime of the solar cells. Substitution of $V_2O_5$ by $TeO_2$ provided a strong network structure for the glasses via the formation of tetrahedral pyramids in the glass, and changed the various glass properties, such as glass transition temperature ($T_g$), dilatometric softening point ($T_d$), crystallization temperature, coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and glass flowage without any detrimental effect on the laser absorption property of the glasses. The thermal expansion mismatch (${\Delta}{\alpha}$) between the glass frit and the substrate could be controlled within less than ${\pm}5%$ by addition of 10 wt% of ${\beta}$-eucryptite. An 810 nm diode laser was used for the sealing test. The laser sealing test revealed that the VZBT20 glass frit with 10 wt% ${\beta}$-eucryptite was successfully sealed the substrates without interfacial cracks and pores. The optimum sealing conditions were provided by a beam size of 3 mm, laser power of 40 watt, scan speed of 300 mm/s, and 200 irradiation cycles.

The synaptic vesicle is a specialized structure in presynaptic terminals that stores various neurotransmitters. The actin filament has been proposed for playing an important role in mobilizing synaptic vesicles. To understand the role of actin filament on synaptic vesicle pooling, we characterized synaptic vesicles and actin filament after treatment of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) or Latrunculin A on primary cultured neuron from rat embryo hippocampus. Western blots revealed that BDNF treatment increased the expression of synapsin I protein, but Latrunculin A treatment decreased the synapsin I protein expression. The increased expression of synapsin I after BDNF disappeared by the treatment of Latrunculin A. Three-dimensional (3D) tomography of synapse showed that more synaptic vesicles localized near the active zone and total number of synaptic vesicles increased after treatment of BDNF. But the number of synaptic vesicle was 2.5-fold reduced in presynaptic terminals and the loss of filamentous network was observed after Latrunculin A application. The treatment of Latruculin A after preincubation of BDNF group showed that synaptic vesicle number was similar to that of control group, but filamentous structures were not restored. These data suggest that the actin filament plays a significant role in synaptic vesicles pooling in presynaptic terminals.
Transportation enterprises should maintain constant and qualitative operation. Thus, in short period, transportation enterprises don't change supply in accordance with demand. In the result, transportation enterprises don't reduce operation in spite of management deficit at will. In freight transportation type, less-than-truckload(LTL) has more relation with above transportation feature than truckload(TL) does. Because freight transportation supply of TL is more flexible than that of LTL in correspondence of freight transportation demand. Relating to above mention, it appears that shortage of road and freight terminal of LTL is larger than that of TL. Especially in road and freight terminal comparison, shortage of freight terminal is larger than that of road. Shortage of road is the largest in 1990, and improved after-ward. But shortage of freight terminal is serious lately. So freight terminal needs more expansion than road, and shows better investment condition than road. Freight terminal expansion brings road expansion in LTL, on the contrary, freight terminal expansion substitutes freight terminal for road in TL. In transportation revenue, freight terminal's contribution to LTL is larger than that to TL. However, when we adjust quasi-fixed factor - road and freight terminal - to optimal level in the long run, in TL, diseconomies of scale becomes large, but in LTL, economies of scale becomes large. Consequently, it is necessary for TL to make counterplans to activate management of small size enterprises and owner drivers. And LTL should make use of economies of scale by solving the problem, such as nonprofit route, excess of rental freight handling of office, insufficiency of freight terminal, shortage of driver, and unpreparedness of freight insurance.

The importance of the digital architecture is increasing more ever. Currently, CAD and 3D programs are used as design fields, but the BIM (building information modeling) is gradually interested. BIM is mandatory on the project more than 50 billion won ordered by the government since 2012, it will be expanded to a total of government orders by 2016. University needs to evaluate teaching methods and computer-aided design environments such as CAD and BIM. In this paper, we surveyed computer-aided design environments and teaching methods for 73 students at the J University of Department of architectural engineering. Main results are as follows: 1. Hardlock is uncomfortable but necessary program for the computer management. 2. The desk placement considering the behavior of the design students results in higher satisfaction. 3. Because a CAD subject was a difficult course content and progress is fast, students thought it is difficult to follow. Especially, first-year students answered it is difficult to learn program and understand the structure of the building at the same time. 4. First-year students want to learn CAD more. Second-, third-, fourth-year students want to learn Photoshop more. Supplement for these classes is required. 5. Students answered that a teaching method of a CAD subject would be good to their own practice after the professor demonstrates for students. The senior's assistance is also a high effective way in the class. 6. During class, students' activities such surfing the web and Kakao Talk on a smartphone disrupt the class, there is a need to regulate by a rule such as disconnect computers from a network and against using smartphone. Although the Internet with the popularization of smartphones confers a benefit on modern life, it causes damage to us. This is a hard part for a salaried workers as well as students studying equally. The self management is required and a professor needs to control and restraint in a university classroom. The professor's continuing interest to students can increase the effectiveness of learning.
If we know the location of the hull block and the welding feeder in the shipyard, we can easily obtain the location information of the worker. That data is very useful for implementing a workplace safety monitoring system. However, it is difficult to apply a fixed communication network to the workplace due to the specificity of the hull structure and welding process. In this study, inductive power line communication, which can replace dedicated communication line, was reviewed. A ferrite core was used as an inductive coupler to be installed on the power cable of the welding machine, and a nano-crystalline core was applied as a coupler to be fastened to the support rod of the metal block. In order to visualize the operating principle of the proposed couplers, 3D modeling and finite element analysis were performed with the COMSOL AC/DC module. In the communication performance test using an aluminum profile, when the communication channel was formed by the contact of the welding electrode, the bandwidth was kept above 6 Mbps.
4-Vinyl-1-cyclohexene diepoxide (VCE)/diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) epoxy blends with benzylquinoxalinium hexafluoroanti-monate were cured using an electron-beam technique. The effect of DGEBA content to VCE on cure behavior, thermal stabilities, and mechanical properties was investigated. The composition of VCE/DGEBA blend system vaned within 100:0, 80:20, 60:40, 40:60, 20:80, and 0:100 wt%. The cure behavior and thermal stability of the cured specimens was monited by near-infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. Also, the critical stress intensity factor ($_{4}$) test of the cured specimens was performed to study the mechanical interfacial properties. As a result, the decreases of short side-chain structure and chain scission were observed in NIR measurements as the DGEBA content increases, resulting in varying the hydroxyl and carbonyl groups. And, the initial decomposition temperature (IDT), temperature of maximum weight loss (T$\_$max/), and decomposition activation energy (E$\_$d/) as thermal stability factors were increased with increasing the DGEBA content. These results could be explained by mean of decreasing viscosity, stable aromatic ring structure, and grafted interpenetrating polymer network with increasing of DGEBA content. Also, the maximum $_{4}$ value showed at mixing ratio of 40:60 wt% in this blend system. in this blend system.
