The chemotherapy sensitive Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC) and chemotherapy resistant Lewis lung carcinoma (CR-LLC) tumors concurrently implanted in mice, and compare these findings with histological macroscopic observations against 3D reconstruction of Fluorescence Molecular Tomography (FMT) preformed in vivo on the same animals. For the 3D image reconstruction we used 32 laser source images, a flat image and 3D surface rendering that confused for 3D Fluorescence Molecular Imaging (FMI). A minimum of ten tissue sections were analyzed per tumor for quantification of the TUNEL-positive cells, cell-associated Cy5.5-Annexin and vessel-associated Alexa Fluor-Lectin. These are useful apoptosis and angiogenesis markers, and they serve as validation experiments to data obtained in vivousing a Cy5.5-Annexin V conjugate injected intravenously in chemotherapy-treated animals carrying the tumors studied histologically. We detected higher levels of apoptosis and corresponding higher levels of Cy5.5 fluorescence in the LLC vs. the CR-LLC tumors according to tissue depth and these findings confirm that in vivo staining with the Cy5.5-Annexing conjugate correlates well with in vitro TUNEL staining and is consistent with the higher apoptotic index expected from the LLC line. There appeared to be 1.38% more apoptosis for LLC than CR-LLC. Consequently there is good correlation between the histology results and in vivo fluorescence-mediated optical imaging. In conclusion the apoptotic images of 3D FMI were validated by microscopic histological image analysis. This is a significant result for the continuous progress of fluorescence 3D imaging research.

This paper investigates on the use of advanced optical measurement methods, i.e. 3D coordinate measurement machines (3D CMM) and stereo-vision digital image correlation (3D DIC), for the mechanical analysis of shear deficient prestressed concrete members. Firstly, the experimental program is elaborated. Secondly, the working principle, experimental setup and corresponding accuracy and precision of the considered optical measurement techniques are reported. A novel way to apply synthesised strain sensor patterns for DIC is introduced. Thirdly, the experimental results are reported and an analysis is made of the structural behaviour based on the gathered experimental data. Both techniques yielded useful and complete data in comparison to traditional mechanical measurement techniques and allowed for the assessment of the mechanical behaviour of the reported test specimens. The identified structural behaviour presented in this paper can be used to optimize design procedure for shear-critical structural concrete members.
Drone photogrammetry generally acquires images vertically or obliquely from above, so when photographing for the purpose of three-dimensional modeling, image matching for the ground of a building and spatial accuracy of point cloud data are poor, resulting in poor 3D mesh completeness. Therefore, to overcome this, this study analyzed the spatial accuracy of each drone image by acquiring smartphone images from the ground, and evaluated the accuracy improvement and completeness of 3D mesh when the smartphone image is not combined with the drone image. As a result of the study, the horizontal (x,y) accuracy of drone photogrammetry was about 1/200,000, similar to that of traditional photogrammetry. In addition, it was analyzed that the accuracy according to the photographing method was more affected by the photographing angle of the object than the increase in the number of photos. In the case of the smartphone image combination, the accuracy was not significantly affected, but the completeness of the 3D mesh was able to obtain a 3D mesh of about LoD3 that satisfies the digital twin city standard. Therefore, it is judged that it can be sufficiently used to build a 3D model for digital twin city by combining drone images and smartphones or DSLR images taken on the ground.

The aim of the 3D medical imaging is to facilitate the creation of clinically usable image-based algorithm. Clinically usable imaging algorithm for image analysis requires a high degree of interaction to verify and correct results from registration algorithms, such as the Insight Toolkit (ITK) and the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) which are the class libraries. ITK provides segmentation algorithms and VTK has powerful 3D visualization. However, to apply those libraries to the medical images such as Computerized Tomography (CT), the algorithm based on the interactive construction and modification of data objects are necessary. In this paper we showed the 3D registration about mandibular premolar of human teeth acquired by micro-CT scanner. Also, we used the ITK to find the contour of pulp layer of premolar, furthermore, the 3D imaging was visualized with VTK designed to create one kind of view on the data of 3D visualization. Finally, we evaluated that the volume model of pulp layer would be useful for the tooth morphology in dental medicine.
A fully automatic image analysis method was applied to obtain detailed data on morphological parameters of a glucoamylase fermentation broth with Aspergillus niger No. PFST-38. a mutant strain for glucoamylase hyperproducer. In the initial stage of fermentation. there was an increase in hyphal length. whereas at the end of the fermentation a decrease in hyphal length and increase in hyphal thickness were observed. The percentage of clumps declined with dilution and the influence of shear stress upon hyphal length was negligible. It was found that the slower the decrease in the main hyphal length and the number of tips with the fermentation time. the higher the glucoamylase production rate was recorded. The production rate of glucoamylase was closely related to the increase in the hyphal thickness.

In three-dimensional(3D) modeling, texturing plays a crucial role as a visual element, imparting detail and realism to models. In contrast to traditional texturing methods, the current trend involves utilizing AI tools such as Leonardo.Ai and Meshy to create textures for 3D models in a more efficient and precise manner. This paper focuses on 3D texturing, conducting a comprehensive comparative study of AI tools, specifically Leonardo.Ai and Meshy. By delving into the performance, functional differences, and respective application scopes of these two tools in the generation of 3D textures, we highlight potential applications and development trends within the realm of 3D texturing. The efficient use of AI tools in texture creation also has the potential to drive innovation and enhancement in the field of 3D modeling. In conclusion, this research aims to provide a comprehensive perspective for researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts in related fields, fostering further innovation and development in this domain.

This study was focused on digital restoration and structural stability evaluation applying 3D scanning system of five-storied Magoksa temple stone pagoda in Gongju. For these, the digital restoration of the pagoda was completed using laser scan data which is measured 16 directions and data processing program of 7 stages. As a result of digital restoration, the overall height and width of stone properties showed a little difference in directions and the width of roof stones appeared very high difference of each floor. The width of pagoda body become smaller to the fifth floor, but gradual decrease rate showed irregular characteristics. Also, as result of 3D image analysis for structural stability evaluation, the displacement occurred toward northwest in second body stone to upper final stone except for central axis of the first body stone which inclines toward southwest. Such 3D image analysis is required quantification of survey method and should be applied to various field such as quantitative damage maps in order to utilize a conservation of stone cultural heritages, continuously.
The advancement of computer technology has blurred the border in image expression between live-action films and 3D animation to an indistinguishable extent. Despite the ever-evolving image expression, it has been found that animation properly incorporating abstractive expression receives more positive responses from the audience than the animation closely akin to live-action films. This indicates that animation-specific abstractive expression can exert more significant effects than that of live-action expression as proved in Dr. Mori Masahiro's 'Uncanny Valley.' Also, such effects apply only to characters, whilst the technology capable of live-action expression is acknowledged only for the background of 3D animation. Without doubt, animation has its own infinite world of expression, and thus more effective methods for its expression can no longer be considered a matter of technology. The present study analyzes the abstractive expression of 3D animation in terms of characters and backgrounds and explores a more effective method to apply the current technology of image expression to 3D animation with a view to proposing a direction for more appropriate application of 3D animation technology to future animation.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the image quality and dose reduction of low-dose three-dimensional (3D) rotational angiography (RA) for evaluating intracranial aneurysms. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the clinical data and 3D RA datasets obtained from 146 prospectively registered patients (male:female, 46:100; median age, 58 years; range, 19-81 years). The subjective image quality of 79 examinations obtained from a conventional method and 67 examinations obtained from a low-dose (5-seconds and 0.10-μGy/frame) method was assessed by two neurointerventionists using a 3-point scale for four evaluation criteria. The total image quality score was then obtained as the average of the four scores. The image quality scores were compared between the two methods using a noninferiority statistical testing, with a margin of -0.2 (i.e., score of low-dose group - score of conventional group). For the evaluation of dose reduction, dose-area product (DAP) and air kerma (AK) were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results: The mean total image quality score ± standard deviation of the 3D RA was 2.97 ± 0.17 by reader 1 and 2.95 ± 0.20 by reader 2 for conventional group and 2.92 ± 0.30 and 2.95 ± 0.22, respectively, for low-dose group. The image quality of the 3D RA in the low-dose group was not inferior to that of the conventional group according to the total image quality score as well as individual scores for the four criteria in both readers. The mean DAP and AK per rotation were 5.87 Gy-cm2 and 0.56 Gy, respectively, in the conventional group, and 1.32 Gy-cm2 (p < 0.001) and 0.17 Gy (p < 0.001), respectively, in the low-dose group. Conclusion: Low-dose 3D RA was not inferior in image quality and reduced the radiation dose by 70%-77% compared to the conventional 3D RA in evaluating intracranial aneurysms.
