  • Non-sintered Alumina films were fabricated via inkjet printing processes without a high temperature sintering process. The packing density of these inkjet-printed alumina films measured around 60%. Polymer resin was infiltrated thru these non-sintered films in order to fill out the 40% of voids constituting the rest of the inkjet-printed films. The concept of inkjet-printed Alumina-Resin hybrid materials was designed in order to be applicable to the ceramic package substrates for 3D-system module integration which may possibly substitute LTCC-based 3D module integration. So, the dielectric properties of these inkjet-printed $Al_2O_3$ hybridmaterialsareofourgreatinterest. We have measured dielectric constant and dissipation factor of the inkjet-printed $Al_2O_3$-resinhybridfilmsbyvaryingtheamountofresininfiltratedthruthe$Al_2O_3$films.

  • Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) films are the most extensively studied and commonly used as ones of TCO films. The ITO films having a high electric conductivity and high transparency are easily fabricated on glass substrate at a substrate temperature over $250^{\circ}C$. However, glass substrates are somewhat heavy and brittle, whereas plastic substrates are lightweight, unbreakable, and so on. For these reasons, it has been recently suggested to use plastic substrates for flexible display application instead of glass. Many reaearchers have tried to produce high quality thin films at rood temperatures by using several methods. Therefore, amorphous ITO films excluding thermal process exhibit a decrease in electrical conductivity and optical transparency with time and a very poor chemical stability. However the amorphous Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) offers several advantages. For typical instance, unlike either crystalline or amorphous ITO, same and higher than a-IGZO resistivity is found when no reactive oxygen is added to the sputter chamber, this greatly simplifies the deposition. We reported on the characteristics of a-IGZO thin films were fabricated by RF-magnetron sputtering method on the PEN substrate at room temperature using 3inch sputtering targets different rate of Zn. The homogeneous and stable targets were prepared by calcine and sintering process. Furthermore, two types of IGZO TFT design, a- IGZO source/drain material in TFT and the other a- ITO source/drain material, have been fabricated for comparison with each other. The experimental results reveal that the a- IGZO source/drain electrode in IGZO TFT is shown to be superior TFT performances, compared with a- ITO source/drain electrode in IGZO TFT.

  • MXenes are a new family of 2D transition metal carbide nanosheets analogous to graphene (Lv et al., 2017; Sun et al., 2018). Due to the easy availability, hydrophilic behavior, and tunable chemistry of MXenes, their use in applications for environmental pollution remediation such as heavy metal adsorption has recently been explored (Li et al., 2017). In this study, three-dimensional (3D) MXene ($Ti_3C_2T_x$) films with high adsorption capacity, good mechanical strength, and high selectivity for specific radionuclide from aquose solution were successfully fabricated by a polymeric precursor method using vacuum-assisted filtration. The highest removal efficiency on the films was 99.54%, 95.61%, and 82.79% for $Sr^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, and $Cs^+$, respectively, using a film dosage of 0.06 g/ L in the initial radionuclide solution (each radionuclide concentration = 1 mg/L and pH = 7.0). Especially, the adsorption process reached an equilibrium within 30 min. The expanded interlayer spacing of $Ti_3C_2T_x$ sheets in MXene films showed excellent radionuclide selectivity ($Cs^+$ and/or $Sr^{2+}/Co^{2+}$) (Simon, 2017). Besides, the MXene films was not only able to be easily retrieved from an aqueous solution by filtration after decontamination processes, but also to selectively separate desired target radionuclides in the solutions. Therefore, the newly developed MXene ($Ti_3C_2T_x$) films has a great potential for radionuclide removal from aqueous solution.

  • $\alpha$-D-mannosyl fullerene[$C_{60}$]-functionalized gold nanoparticle films were selfassembled using the layer-by-layer method on the reactive of glass slides functionlized with 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane. The functionalized glass slides were alternately soaked in the solutions containing $\alpha$-D-mannosyl fullerene[$C_{60}$] and 4-aminothiophenoxide/hexanethiolate-protected gold nanoparticles. $\alpha$-D-mannosyl fullerene[$C_{60}$]-functionalized gold nanoparticle films have grown up to 5 layers depending on the immersion time. The self-assembled nanoparticle films were characterized using UV-vis spectroscopy showed that the surface plasmon band of gold at 530 nm gradually became more evident as successive layers were added to the films.

  • Amorphous $Sb_{2-x}Bi_xTe_3$ (x = 0.0, 0.5 and 1.0) thin films were prepared by vacuum evaporation. The resistivity of 7he films decreases from 1.4{\times}10^{-2}$ to $8.84{\times}10^{-5}\Omega cm$ and the type of conductivity changes from p to n with the increase of the x value of the films. D.C. conduction studies on these films ate performed at various electric fields in the temperature range of 303-403 K. At low electric fields, two types of conduction mechanisms, i.e. the variable range hopping and the phonon assisted hopping are found to be responsible for the conduction, depending upon the temperature. The activation energy decreases from 0.082 to 0.076 eV in the temperature range of 303-363 K and from 0.47-0.456 eV in the second range of 363-403 K, indicating the shift of the Fermi level towards the conduction band edge and hence the change of the conduction from P to n type with the increase of the Bi concentration. Poole-Frankel emission dominates at high fields. The shape of the potential well of the localized centre is deduced and the mean free path of the charge carriers is also calculated.

  • Zinc-oxide (ZnO), II-VI semiconductor with a wide and direct band gap (Eg: 3.2~3.4 eV), is one of the most potential candidates to substitute for ITO due to its excellent chemical, thermal stability, specific electrical and optoelectronic property. However, the electrical resistivity of un-doped ZnO is not low enough for the practical applications. Therefore, a number of doped ZnO films have been extensively studied for improving the electrical conductivities. In this study, Ti-doped ZnO films were successfully prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD) techniques. ALD technique was adopted to careful control of Ti doping concentration in ZnO films and to show its feasible application for 3D nanostructured TCO layers. Here, the structural, optical and electrical properties of the Ti-doped ZnO depending on the Ti doping concentration were systematically presented. Also, we presented 3D nanostructured Ti-doped ZnO layer by combining ALD and nanotemplate processes.

  • The tribological behavior for $MoS_2$ bonded films is evaluated according to the international standard testing methods, such as ASTM D 2625 (Falex tester) and ASTM D 2714 (LFW1 tester). It has been well known that the tribological behavior for $MoS_2$ bonded films is affected by several factors. However, in this work, the wear life for $MoS_2$ bonded films is mainly experimentally measured with different contact geometry, and evaluated in terms of the frictional heating according to the contact geometry of tribotester. The test results show that the wear life of $MoS_2$ bonded films is significantly affected not only by the frictional heating, but also by the contact pressure, test running-in conditions, and the contact conformity.

  • The purpose of this study is to gather basic data in the special effects make-up field and to provide a source of inspiration for creative make-up design by examining how special effects make-up is developed according to representative films. Two approaches are used in this study: a literature review and an empirical case analysis. In Korea, color TV was introduced in the 1980s, with the demand for a realistic image. Since the 2000s, 3D printing technology has been introduced to special effects make-up. Special effects make-up was first introduced in Hollywood films in the 1890s, and by the 1900s, artificial teeth and eyebrows were added and presented using general make-up techniques. Since then, 3D and 4D technologies and animation performance capture methods have been introduced and distributed due to the rapid development of computer technology.

  • We demonstrate a low-cost, superbly efficient way of etching for the nano-, and micro-sized pyramid patterns on (100)-oriented Si wafer surfaces for use as a patterned master. We show a way of producing functional optical films for the viewing angle direction brightness-enhancement of Lambertian LED (light emitting diode)/OLED (organic light emitting diode) planar lighting applications. An optimally formulated KOH (Potassium hydroxide) wet etching process enabled random-positioned, and random size-distributed (within a certain size range) pyramid patterns to be developed over the entire (100) silicon wafer substrates up to 8" and a simple replication process of master patterns onto the PC (poly-carbonate) and PMMA (poly-methyl methacrylate) films were performed. Haze ratio values were measured for several film samples exhibiting excellent values over 90% suitable for LED/OLED lighting purposes. Brightness was also improved by 13~14% toward the viewing angle direction. Computational simulations using LightTools$^{TM}$ were also carried out and turned out to be in strong agreement with experimental data. Finally, we could check the feasibility of fabricating low-cost, large area, high performance optical films for commercialization.
