  • Visibility of the satellite navigation is related to a environmental condition of a receiver. Obstacles like buildings and trees in urban areas can block signals and have effects on accuracy and reliability of positioning. This paper presents a method of creating 3D analysis model of urban canyon of Seoul using three-Dimensional digital map. Analysis techniques of visible satellites with Ray-Polygon Collision Detection and validation of algorithm through field tests are discussed. We have compared and analyzed the visibility of GPS and Galileo with respect to separate and simultaneous tracking in view of DOP (Dilution of Precision) using the 3D GIS digital map.

  • This paper proposes an optical cryptography application to 2-D page-oriented data based on CFB(Cipher Feedback) mode algorithm. The proposed method uses a free-space optical interconnected dual-encoding technique which performs XOR logic operations in order to implement 2-D page-oriented data encryption. The proposed method provides more enhanced cryptosystem with greater security strength than the conventional CFB block mode with 1-D encryption key due to the huge encryption key with 2-D arrayed page type. To verify the proposed method, encryption and decryption of 2-D page data and error analysis are carried out by computer simulations. The results show that the proposed CFB optical encryption system makes it possible to implement stronger cryptosystem with massive data processing and long encryption key compared to 1-D block method.

  • In the main target area of the block II, Targe-scale faults occur below the unconformity developed around 1 km in depth. The contrast of seismic velocity around the unconformity is generally so large that the strong multiples and the radical velocity variation would deteriorate the quality of migrated section due to serious distortion. More than 15 kinds of data processing techniques have been applied to improve the image resolution for the structures farmed from this active crustal activity. The bad and noisy traces were edited on the common shot gathers in the first step to get rid of acquisition problems which could take place from unfavorable conditions such as climatic change during data acquisition. Correction of amplitude attenuation caused from spherical divergence and inelastic attenuation has been also applied. Mild F/K filter was used to attenuate coherent noise such as guided waves and side scatters. Predictive deconvolution has been applied before stacking to remove peg-leg multiples and water reverberations. The velocity analysis process was conducted at every 2 km interval to analyze migration velocity, and it was iterated to get the high fidelity image. The strum noise caused from streamer was completely removed by applying predictive deconvolution in time space and ${\tau}-P$ domain. Residual multiples caused from thin layer or water bottom were eliminated through parabolic radon transform demultiple process. The migration using curved ray Kirchhoff-style algorithm has been applied to stack data. The velocity obtained after several iteration approach for MVA (migration velocity analysis) was used instead or DMO for the migration velocity. Using various testing methods, optimum seismic processing parameter can be obtained for structural and stratigraphic interpretation in the Block II, Yellow Sea Basin.

  • A system with the ability to recognize potential key blocks during tunnel construction by analyzing the rock face was developed in this study. This system predicts the formation of key blocks in advance and evaluates their safety factors. A laser scanner was used to collect a three-dimensional point cloud of the rock face, which was then utilized to model the excavation surface and derive the joint surfaces. Because joint surfaces have specific strikes and dip angles, the key blocks formed by these surfaces are deduced through iterative calculations, and the safety factor of each key block can be calculated accordingly. The model experiments confirmed the accuracy of the system's output in terms of the joint surface characteristics. By inputting the joint surface information, the calculated safety factors were compared with those from the existing commercial software, demonstrating stable calculation results within a 1% error margin.

  • In mobile communication, the performance of QAM technique is poor under deep fading even though Rayleigh channel characteristics are estimated and compensated. In this paper, we analyze the performance of 3/4 Trellis coded 16QAM in Rayleigh channel where burst errors are randomized by bit reversal block interleaver, and TCM coder is designed by computer search to be adequate for Rayleigh channel. The simulation results show that the interleaver has 2dB gain, the modified Viterbi decoder has 2.5dB, and diversity has 9dB gain at $P_{b}b/=10^{-3}$. This indicates that the 3/4 TC 16QAM is applicable to digital mobile communication with good performance.

  • An iterative time marching procedure for solving incompressible internal flow has been applied to the flow around a rotor-stator. This procedure solves three-dimensional incompressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation on a moving, time-deforming, non-orthogonal body-fitted grid using second-order accurate schemes for the time derivatives and third/second-order accurate schemes for the spatial derivatives. To handle rotationg geometry, the multiblock technique is applied and the overall flow domain is subdivided into two blocks. In each block, a grid is generated and flowfield is solved independently of the other blocks. The boundary data for each block is provided by the neighboring blocks using bilinear interpolation technique.

  • ${Cachin}^{[1]}$ defined the security of steganography theoretically at first, then ${Katzenbeisser}^{[2]}$ and ${Hopper}^{[3]}$ also discussed it on the different aspects. Unfortunately, because many steganographic systems couldnt overcome the statistical gap between a stego-cover and a pure cover, the secure steganography hasn' been evaluated yet. By the effectivel steganalysis algorithm, statistical test which was suggested by Westfel $d^{[4]}$, the attacker Wendy could select the stego-covers out of suspicious covers. Our newly developed algorithm which minimizes the changes of a pure cover by using the block cipher withstands a statistical test and has a similar embedding capacity in comparison with a simple LSB substitution steganography.

  • To improve the sensitivity, a detector using a block scintillator was developed. In the pixelated scintillator, a reflector is located between pixels to move the light generated from the scintillator to the photosensor as much as possible, and sensitivity loss occurs in the reflector portion. In order to improve the sensitivity and to have the characteristics of the pixelated scintillator, the block scintillator was processed into a scintillator in pixel form through three-dimensional laser engraving. The energy spectra and energy resolution of each pixel were measured, and sensitivity analysis of block and pixel scintillator was performed through GATE simulation. The measured global energy resolution was 20.7%, and the sensitivity was 18.5% higher than that of the pixel scintillator. When this detector is applied to imaging devices such as gamma camera and positron emission tomography, it will be possible to shorten the imaging time and reduce the dose of patient by using less radiation source.

  • The Gorae II area is located in the southwestern margin of the Ulleung Basin, East Sea and corresponds to the Ulleung Trough. The survey of 3D seismic data in this area was performed to delineate the structural leads confirmed by the previous 2D seismic data. As a part of 3D interpretation, basement related structural movements and their relationship with the stratigraphy were studied. The study shows that eight sequences were identified which are genetically related to the tectonics and sediment supply in this area. The geologic structures characterizing the study area consist of : (1) block faults developed in the early stage of basin opening, (2) late Miocene thrusts, and (3) Pliocene wrench faults. The eight sequences consist of pre-rift (acoustic basement), syn-rift (Sequence $A_1, A_2$), post-rift (Sequence $B_1{\~}B_3$), syn-compressional sequence (Sequence C), and post-compressional sequence(Sequence D) from oldest to youngest. The time structure and isochron maps were constructed for each sequence and also used in seismic facies analysis and interpretation of sedimentary environment. The interpretation results reveal that the relative sea level changes caused by several stages of tectonic movements and sediment supply control the stratal and structural geometry of Ulleung basin.

  • From the view point of data fusion, we integrate LIDAR data and digital aerial images to perform 3D building modeling in this study. The proposed scheme comprises two major parts: (1) building block extraction and (2) building model reconstruction. In the first step, height differences are analyzed to detect the above ground areas. Color analysis is then performed for the exclusion of tree areas. Potential building blocks are selected first followed by the refinement of building areas. In the second step, through edge detection and extracting the height information from LIDAR data, accurate 3D edges in object space is calculated. The accurate 3D edges are combined with the already developed SMS method for building modeling. LIDAR data acquired by Leica ALS 40 in Hsin-Chu Science-based Industrial Park of north Taiwan will be used in the test.
