  • Depending on the characteristics of each 3D-DCT block, images can be classified into three types: images with motion and textures, images with high textures and little motion, images with little textures and little motion. In this paper, we propose an adaptive watermarking method using these characteristics of each 3D-DCT block. and the human visual system. The proposed method classifies patterns of 3D-DCT blocks based on the motion and texture information, and classifies the image type according to the ratio of these patterns. The watermark is inserted proportional to the 3D-DCT coefficients by using pattern adaptive JND, which. makes the proposed watermarking robust by inserting watermarks in as many blocks as possible. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better performance in terms of invisibility and robustness than the previous method.

  • This study has been accomplished as a experimental study for field application of 3D Perspective Image Map creation using Digital Topographical Map and based on the Ortho-Projection Image which is generated from Satellite Overlay Images and the precise Relative Coordinates of longitude, latitude and altitude which is corrected by GCP(Ground Control Point). AS to Contour Lines Map which is created by Coordinate conversion of 1:5,000 Topographical Map, we firstly made Satellite Image Map to substitute for Digital Topographical Map through overlapping the original images on top of each Ortho-Projection Image created and checking the accuracy. In addition to 3D Image Map creation for 3D Terrain analysis of a target district, Slope Gradient Analysis, Aspect Analysis and Terrain Elevation Model generation, multidirectional 3D Image generation by DEM can be carried out through this study. This study is to develop a mapping technology with which we can generate 3D Satellite Images of a target district through the composition of Digital Maps and Facility Blueprint and arbitrarily create 3D Perspective Images of the target district from any view point.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to fabricate a patient-specific breast implant using MRI images and 3D scan data. Existing breast implants for breast reconstruction surgery are primarily fabricated products for shaping, and among the limited types of implants, products similar to the patient's breast have been used. In fact, the larger the difference between the shape of the breast and the implant, the more frequent the postoperative side effects and the lower the satisfaction. Previous researches on the fabrication of patient-specific breast implants have used limited information based on only MRI images or on only 3D scan data. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the fabrication of patient-specific breast implants that combines MRI images with 3D scan data, considering anatomical suitability for external shape, volume, and pectoral muscle. Experimental results show that we can produce precise breast implants using the proposed algorithm.

  • We have developed a 3.1-inch diagonal 2D/3D LCD with a novel pixel arrangement, called HDDP (Horizontally Double-Density Pixels), for high-quality 3D images. We have improved 3D visibility by broadening the 3D viewing zone where high-quality images can be seen, and we propose optical characterization methods which can evaluate the high-visibility autostereoscopic displays correctly.

  • Due to intelligent transport systems, location-based applications, and augmented reality, demand for image maps and 3D (Three-Dimensional) maps is increasing. As a result, data acquisition using UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) has flourished in recent years. However, even though orthophoto map production and research using UAVs are flourishing, few studies on 3D modeling have been conducted. In this study, orthophoto and 3D modeling research was performed using various angle images acquired by a UAV. For orthophotos, accuracy was evaluated using a GPS (Global Positioning System) survey that employed VRS (Virtual Reference Station) acquired checkpoints. 3D modeling was evaluated by calculating the RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) of the difference between the outline height values of buildings obtained from the GPS survey to the corresponding 3D modeling height values. The orthophotos satisfied the acceptable accuracy of NGII (National Geographic Information Institute) for a 1/500 scale map from all angles. In the case of 3D modeling, models based on images taken at 45 degrees revealed better accuracy of building outlines than models based on images taken at 30, 60, or 75 degrees. To summarize, it was shown that for orthophotos, the accuracy for 1/500 maps was satisfied at all angles; for 3D modeling, images taken at 45 degrees produced the most accurate models.

  • In this paper, we propose a 2D-3D convertible display system having a background of full-parallax integral images. The proposed system is composed of integral imaging system and conventional 2D flat display and is able to operate either 3D mode or 2D mode. In 3D mode, the 3D image is generated by combining the 2D main image with the background image based on integral imaging. In 2D mode, the integral imaging system plays a role as the back-light of 2D flat display and then 2D image is observed through 2D flat display. To show the usefulness of the proposed system, we carry out the preliminary experiments and present the successful experimental results.

  • In this paper, we proposed a downscaled 3D object technique using medical images for telediagnostic use. The proposed system consisted of downscaling/thresholding processes for building a downscaled 3D object and a process for obtaining 2D images at specific angles for diagnosis support. We used 80 slices of Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine(DICOM) CT images as sample images and the platform-independent Java language for the experiment. We confirmed that the total image set size and transmission time of the original DICOM image set using a down-scaled 3D object decreased approximately $99\%\;and\;98.41\%,$ respectively. With additional studies, the proposed technique obtained from these results will become useful in supporting diagnosis for home and hospital care.

  • The determination of camera position and orientation from known correspondences of 3D reference points and their images is known as pose estimation in computer vision or space resection in photogrammetry. This paper discusses estimation of transform parameters using the pattern matching method with 2D images only. In general, the 3D reference points or lines are needed to find out the 3D transform parameters, but this method is applied without the 3D reference points or lines. It uses only two images to find out the transform parameters between two image. The algorithm is simulated using Visual C++ on Windows 98.

  • For 3D modelling artificial objects with computers, we have to draw frames and paint the facet images on each side. In this paper, a geographic modelling system building automatically 3D geographic spaces using GIS data and real images of buildings is proposed. First, the 3D model of terrain is constructed by using TIN and DEM algorithms. The images of buildings are acquired with a camera and its position is estimated using vertical lines of the image and the GIS data. The height of the building is computed with the image and the position of the camera, which used for making up the frames of buildings. The 3D model of the building is obtained by detecting the facet iamges of the building and texture mapping them on the 3D frame. The proposed geographical modeling system is applied to real area and shows its effectiveness.
