  • 손상된 터어빈 로터강의 보수 용접에 있어서 용접부의 크립 파단 수명과 탄화물간의 관계가 연구되었다. 탄화물은 탄화물 추출 복제법을 이용하여 확인되었으며 로터강에는 Molybdenum 주성분의$M_2C$, Vanadium 주성분의 $M_4C_3$, 및 Chromium 주성분의 $M_{23}C_6$$M_7C_3$ 탄화물이 존재하였다. 한편 ICHAZ에서 파단된 시험편의 파단면에서는 구상의 조대한 Molybdenum 주성분의 $M_6C$ 탄화물이 발견되었다. 조대한 Molybdenum 주성분의 $M_6C$ 탄화물의 석출은 탄화물 주위에 고용경화 원소인 Molybdenum 농도를 떨어뜨려 기공 발생 원인을 제공하였다. CGHAZ에서 파단된 용접부의 파단면에서는 조대한 $M_6C$$M_{23}C_6$가 발견되었다.

DLC와 WC/C의 마찰특성 (Friction Characteristics of DLC and WC/C)

  • 본 연구에서는 수직 하중과 미끄럼 속도가 DLC (a-C:H)와 WC/C (a-C:H:W)의 마찰 특성에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 ball-on-disk 형태의 마찰 실험 장치를 이용하여 실험을 수행하였다. 연구 대상 고체 윤활막인 DLC와 WC/C는 AISI 52100 steel ball의 표면에 증착되었으며, 상대 마찰면의 재질은 침탄 경화된 SCM 415 Cr-Mo steel이다. 실험은 상대 습도가 20~40 %이고 온도가 $16{\sim}24^{\circ}C$인 대기 분위기에서 다양한 미끄럼 속도 (0.1, 0.78, 1.56, 3.13, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 mm/s) 및 수직 하중 (2.4, 4.8, 9.6 N) 조건에 대해 수행되었다. 실험 결과로 각각의 실험 조건에서의 DLC와 WC/C의 운동 마찰 계수를 얻었다. 실험 결과 DLC와 WC/C의 운동 마찰 계수는 미끄럼 속도가 증가할 수록 대체로 증가하였으며, 수직 하중에 관계없이 거의 일정한 값을 보였다. 그리고 동일한 실험 조건에서 DLC의 마찰 계수가 WC/C의 마찰 계수에 비해 대체로 낮은 값을 보였다.

알칼리 전해액의 상호작용에 의한 Stainless Steel 주성분의 변화 분석 (Analysis on Variation of Primary Elements of Stainless Steel Interacting with Alkali Solution)

  • In this paper, We studied the change of surface and variation of elements on both electrodes of hydrogen generator of alkaline electrolysis in use of FE-SEM and SIMS. We used the stainless steel 316(600 ${\mu}m$) as electrode in condition of 25%KOH, $60^{\circ}C$ Temperature. The results show that the intensity of elements (C, Si, P, S, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Mo) of Positive Electrode are decreased as much as about $10^1{\sim}10^3 $than the original electrode. Thickness of Positive Electrode is decreased about 40 ${\mu}m$ after chemical reaction. The negative electrode, however, shows a slight variation in the intensity of elements (C, Si, P, Fe, Ni, Mn, Mo) but Change of thickness and surface' shape of electrode show nothing after chemical reaction. The change in thickness and variation of Stainless Steel 316 cause the lifetime of electrode to be shorted. We also observed hydrogen, oxygen, potassium in both electrodes. Especially, The potassium is increased in proportional with depth of positive electrode. this means the concentration of alkali solutions is changed. and so we have to supply alkaline solution to generator in order to produce same quantity of hydrogen gas continuously. we hope that this study gives a foundation to develop the electrode for hydrogen generator of alkaline electrolysis.

스테인레스강 Overlay 용접부의 Disbonding에 관한 연구 1

  • Many pressure vessels for the hot H$\sub$2//H$\sub$2/S service are made of 2+1/4Cr-1Mo steel with austenitic stainless steel overlay to combat agressive corrosion due to hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen dissolves in to materials during operation, and sometimes gives rise to unfore-seeable damages. Appropriate precautions must, therefore, be taken to avoid the hydrogen induced damages in the design, fabrication and operation stage of such reactor vessels. Recently, hydrogeninduced cracking (or Disbonding) was found at the interface between base metal and stainless weld overlay of a desulfurizing reactor. Since the stainless steel overlay weld metal is subjected to thermal and internal-pressure loads in reactor operation, it is desirable for the overlay weld metal to have high strength and ductility from the stand point of structural safety. In section III of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Post-Weld Heat Treatment(PWHT) of more than one hour per inch at over 1100.deg. F(593.deg. C) is required for the weld joints of low alloy pressure vessel steels. This heat treatment to relieve stresses in the welded joint during construction of the pressure vessel is considered to cause sensitization of the overlay weld metal. The present study was carried out to make clear the diffusion of carbon migration by PWHT in dissimilar metal welded joint. The main conclusion reached from this study are as follows: 1) The theoretical analysis for diffusion of carbon in stainless steel overlay weld metal does not agree with Fick's 2nd law but the general law of molecular diffusion phenomenon by thermodynamic chemical potential. 2) In the stainless steel overlay welded joint, the PWHT at 720.deg. C for 10 hours causes a diffusion of carbon atoms from ferritic steel into austenitic steel according to the theoretical analysis for carbon migration and its experiment. 3) In case of PWHT at 720.deg. C for 10 hours, the micro-hardness of stainless steel weld metal in bonded zone increase very highly in the carburized layer with remarkable hardening than that of weld metal.

Effects of Rare Earth Metals Addition and Aging Treatment on the Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Properties of Super Duplex Stainless Steels

  • Effects of rare earth metals addition and aging treatment on corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of super duplex stainless steels were investigated using optical/SEM/TEM metallographic examination, an X-ray diffraction test, a potentiodynamic anodic polarization test and a tensile test. The performance of the experimental alloy with 0.32% REM addition was compared with commercial super duplex stainless steel such as SAF 2507 when they were exposed to solution annealing heat treatment and aging treatment. The corrosion resistance in CF environments and mechanical properties of the experimental alloy were found superior to those of the commercial duplex stainless steel. The REM with larger atomic radii than those of Cr, Mo and W may fill vacancies inside the matrix and around the grain boundaries, retarding formation of harmful intermetallic σ and χ phases. In addition, fine REM oxides/oxy-sulfides (1-3㎛) seemed to enhance the retardation effects. With REM additions, strength and ductility increased due to the phase and grain refinement caused by fine REM oxides and oxy-sulfides.

  • This work has been carried out to reduce the softening of heat affected zone on laser surface alloying. Iron based rapid solidification material with $Cr_{5-10}$, $V_{1-3}$, $Mo_{3-7}$, $W_{2-5}$, $B_{7-8}$, $C_{2-3}$, $Si_{0.5-1}at%$ was alloyed on the surface of SM45C steel. The excellent softening resistance in alloyed and heat affected zone showed, which could be attributed to the formation of stable high temperature precipitates.

화력 발전용 로터강의 초기 변형율이 CYCLIC 크리프 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Initial Strain on Cyclic Creep Properties of Steam Turbine Rotor Steel)

  • The creep behaviors of 1%Cr-Mo-V and 12%Cr steam turbine rotor steels under static or cyclic load were examined at 600 and $700^{\circ}C$. The relationship between these two kinds of phenomena was studied and the experimental results were summarized as follows: 1) It is confirmed that the cyclic creep strain dependent on time is more available for creep, behavior analysis according to frequency change than that dependent on number of cycles, and the static creep, the special case of cyclic creep with stress ratio of 1 can be also more effectively analyzed by time-dependence. 2) The steady cyclic creep rate vs. the steady static creep rate, increases according to the increase of stress ratio, and this phenomena may occur on occasion of the decrease of the internal stress. 3) The initial strain affects on all the creep properties of the transient region, the steady state region and the rupture time in cyclic creep as well as static creep, and the quantitative relationships among them exist.

복합조직강의 연속어닐링과정에서 미세조직과 집합조직의 변화 (Change in Microstructure and Texture during Continuous-Annealing in Dual-Phase Steels)

  • The variation in microstructure and texture during continuous annealing was examined in a series of 1.6% Mn-0.1% Cr-0.3% Mo-0.005% B steels with carbon contents in the range of 0.010 to 0.030%. It was found that microstructure of hot band consisted of ferrite and pearlite as a consequence of high coiling temperature, and eutectoid carbon content was between 0.011% and 0.016%. Martensite ranged in volume fraction from 1.5% to 4.0% when annealed at $820{\circ}C$ according to the typical continuous annealing cycle. The critical martensite content for the continuous yielding was about 4% from stress-strain curves. The continuous yielding was obtained in the 0.030% carbon steel and 0.010% to 0.020% carbon steels revealed some yield point elongation ranging from 0.8% to 2.2% in as-annealed conditions. Higher tensile strength in the higher carbon steel is due to both increase in the martensite volume fraction and ferrite grain refinement. Decreasing the carbon content to 0.01% strengthened the intensities of ${\gamma}$-fiber textures, resulting in the increase in the $r_m$ value, which was caused by the lower volume fraction of martensite. The higher carbon steels showed the lower $r_m$ value of about 1.0.

이종재의 브레이징 계면에서 주상 조직의 성장 기구 (Columnar Structural Growth in Molten Filler Metal during Brazing of Dissimilar Materials)

  • Cu-brazed layer between the sintered-cam(Fe-5Cr-lMo-0.5P-2.5C, wt%) and seamless steelpipe(0.25-0.35C, 0.3-1.0 Mn, bal Fe, wt%) in the camshaft shows a columnar structure of $\gamma$-phase growing from the steel pipe. Liquid phase sintered 60Fe-40Cu alloys are carburized to simulate the brazing process giving rise to the columnar growth. Liquid film migrations and columnar growth of $\gamma$-grains are observed in the carburized regions. The $\gamma$-grains grow in the same direction as the C-diffusion. Fe-solubility in the liquid of carburized region is higher than in the uncarburized by about 0.3 at%. The columnar growth is driven by the gradient of the supersaturated Fe-solute in the liquid between two adjacent $\gamma$-grains.

피로하중을 받는 표면균열재의 관통거동 및 지연거동 (Retardation Behavior and Crack-Through-Thickness of a Surface-cracked Specimen under Cyclic Load)

  • Fatigue life and retardtion behavior after through-thickness were examined experimentally by using a CT specimen and surface-cracked specimen. The material used was 3% Ni-Cr-Mo steel. The fatigue crack shape before through-thickness is almost semicircular, and the measured aspect ratio is larger than the value obtained by calculation using the K value proposed by Newman-Raju. It is found that the crack growth behavior on the back side after through-ghickness is unique and can be divided into three stages a, b and c. A retardation parameter has been used successfully to predict the growth of cracks in specimen, and in this time, retardation factor is 4.3. By using the crack propagation rule considering on retardation state and the K value proposed by the authors, the remarkable crack growth behavior and the change in crack shape can be evaluated quantitatively.
