  • This study compares nurse-teachers' knowledge and attitudes toward AIDS after education with those before education. Data were collected by way of questionnaires, made up of two sections: to examine attitudes toward AIDS patients Kelly's prejudicial evaluation scale and social interaction scale was used, and to measure knowledge about AIDS a knowledge evaluation tool developed by the investigators was used. Subjects of the study were 108 nurse teachers participating in a qualifying education program which was held at Education College, Gyeong Sang National University in 1996. The data were analyzed using percentages, means, Pearson correlation coefficients and paired t-test. The results of the study were summarized as follows ; 1. The knowledge on AIDS of nurse teachers was improved considerably after a 2 hour education. The average score was 19.1 over 20.0 after education against 15.3 before education. 2. The prejudicial attitudes of nurse teachers toward AIDS patients were also improved with statistical significance; 33.63 over a total score of 60.00 after education against 31.81 before education. The prejudicial evaluation is performed on 12 items on a scale of $1\sim5$. 3. The social interaction scale of nurse teachers toward AIDS patients improved a little. But this improvement did not show any statistical significance. 4. The prejudicial evaluation scale showed a significant negative correlation with the social in teraction scale before and after education, and the same was true for the knowledge scale but only after education.

  • In this paper, We proposed a novel hand-gesture recognition algorithm using concentric-circle expanding and tracing. The proposed algorithm determines region of interest of hand image through preprocessing the original image acquired by web-camera and extracts the feature of hand gesture such as the number of stretched fingers, finger tips and finger bases, angle between the fingers which can be used as intuitive method for of human computer interaction. The proposed algorithm also reduces computational complexity compared with raster scan method through referencing only pixels of concentric-circles. The experimental result shows that the 9 hand gestures can be recognized with an average accuracy of 90.7% and an average algorithm execution time is 78ms. The algorithm is confirmed as a feasible way to a useful input method for virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and perceptual interfaces of human computer interaction.

  • The purpose of the present research was to study the self-regulation of the child during mother child interaction. That is. this study focused on how mothers regulated children's problem solving efforts before children began to function as independent agents capable of self-regulation. The emphasis was on the "regulation-by-others" that preceded "self-regulation". The subjects of this study were 30 mother-child dyads. The dyads were divided into 3 groups of 10 dyads each on the basis of the child's age (2, 3, and 4 years of age). The instrument used for this study was the "truck puzzle" devised by Wertsch, McNamee, Mclane and Budwig (1980). The problem solving task in this study required the dyad to make a puzzle in accordance with the model puzzle. The interaction of 30 mother-child dyads was observed and analyzed flH verbal and non-verbal behavior used by the mother to regulate the child's behavior. One-way ANOVA, Scheffe post hoc comparision and Spearman's rank-difference correlation were used for the statistical analysis of the data. The results revealed that there were significant age trends in regulation-by-others and self regulation in joint cognitive activity; that is, there were developmental transitions from regulation by-others to self-regulation in connection with crucial strategic behavior (looking at the model). Significant differences were found in mothers' interventions after children's gaze at the model in joint cognitive activity; that is, the mean proportion of mothers' intervention for the 2-year-old group was the highest and that of the 4-year-old group was the lowest. There were no significant age-related differences in mothers' use of referential perspectives in joint cognitive activity. Children's regulation- by-others increased and children's self-regulation decreased in proportion to mothers' use of referential perspectives.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the government support project on traditional market and the interaction effect between the government support project and the competition intensity. Therefore, this study focuses on the competition intensity of individual stores in traditional markets, unlike the traditional research flow, which is beyond the competitive structure of traditional markets and large retailers. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is based on the data of 'Statistics of Traditional Market in 2017'. In this study, a multiple regression equation was constructed using the number of government support projects as an independent variable, competition intensity as an interaction, and sales per store, number of customers per store as a dependent variable for analysis. A multiple regression equation was constructed for the main effect analysis. To investigate the effect of the interaction, cohen(1980)'s regression equation and two-way ANOVA were used. Results - First, according to this study, the traditional market participated in the government support project showed that the sales and the number of visitors per store in the traditional market were higher than those in the non-participation market. Second, the impact of government support projects on sales per store(also number of visiting customers per store) can be different depending on the competition intensity. More specifically, if the market is politically supported by a market with a high level of competition, it may be more effective than the market with no support. Conclusions - Based on the results of the study, we suggested academic and practical implications and suggested that competition intensity of stores in the traditional market should be considered in the future. The implications of this study are as follows. First, the effects of the government's traditional market support project were analyzed empirically. Second, this study is different from the previous studies in that it examined the competitive strengths and the effects of individual stores in traditional markets, away from competition between traditional market and large retailers. Third, it provided practical implications for the operation of government support projects.

  • Augmented Reality(AR) assists human's cognitive ability through the information visualization by substantiating information about virtual situation. This technology is studied in a variety of ways including education, design, industry, and so on, by various supply of information devices equipped with cameras and display monitors. Since the most of the AR system depends on limited interaction that responds to the order from user, it can not reflect diverse real world situation. In this study, we suggest a knowledge based augmented reality system, which is composed of context awareness agent that provides recognized context information, along with knowledge based component that provides intelligent capability by utilizing domain knowledges. With this capability, the augmented object can generate dynamic model intelligently by reflecting context information, and can make the interaction possible among the multiple objects. We developed rule based context awareness system along with 3D model generation, and tested interaction among the augmented objects. And we suggest a framework that can provide a convenient way of developing augmented reality system for user.

  • Half-metallic Heusler alloys (NiMnSb, ppdMnSb, pptMnSb) have attracted much attention due to their unique electronic and magnetic structures. Sppin-ppolarized band structure calculation ppredicts metallic behavior for the majority sppin states and semiconductor behavior for the minority sppin states. We have studied the electronic structures of these half-metallic Heusler alloys by core-level pphotoemission sppectroscoppy of Mn 2pp and 3s XppS sppectra. We found large intensities of Mn 2pp satellites and 3s exchange spplitting comppared with other metal Mn-alloys. These satellite structure can be understood by applying Anderson imppurity model. This fact supports the calculated sppin pprojected ppartial density of states which suggests that the valence electrons be highly sppin ppolarized near Fermi level and that the electrons involved with charge-transfer be mainly minority sppin ones which have semiconducting band structure. The trend of charge transfer energies Δ from ligands (Sb 5pp) to Mn 3d, obtained from our model fitting, is consistent with that calculated from sppin pprojected ppartial density of state. Also the trend of d-d electron correlation energies U calculated from Mn Auger line L3 VV by Mg $K\alpha$ source is comppatible with that resulted from our model fitting. We fitted the Mn 3s curve in the same way as for insulating Mn comppounds by using the same pparameters calculated from Mn 2pp curve fitting exceppt for the Coulomb interaction energy Q between core hole and d-electrons. The 3s sppectra were analyzed by combing the charge transfer model and a simpple model taking into account the configuration mixing effect due to the intra-shell correlation. We found that the exchange interaction between 3s hole and 3d electrons is mainly respponsible for the satellite of Mn 3s sppectra. This is consistent with the neutron scattering data, which suggests local 3d magnetic moment. We find that the XppS analysis results of Mn 2pp and 3s satellite structures of half-metallic Heusler alloys are very similar to those of insulating transition metal comppounds.
