  • A quantitative non-contact multi-point measurement system is proposed to the measurement of three-dimensional movement of floating vessels by using digital image processing. The instantaneous three-dimensional movement of a floating structure which is floating in a small water tank is measured by this system and its three-dimensional movement is reconstructed by the measurement results. The validity of this system is verified by position identification for spatially distributed known positional values of basic landmarks set for the camera calibration. It is expected that this system is applicable to the non-contact measurement for an unsteady physical phenomenon especially for the measurement of three-dimensional movement of floating vessels in the laboratory model test.

  • A thermal stratification may occur in the horizontal parts of the surge line during operating transients of the pressurizer, which produces relatively high fatigue usage factor. Heat-up transient is the most severe case among the transient conditions. In this study, to study the relationship between the magnitude of thermal stratification and the length of vertical part of the surge line, some parametric fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analyses with different length variables of the vertical part of the surge line were performed for plant heat-up transient condition by using 3-dimensional numerical analysis. The conservativeness of the traditional finite element model for thermal stratification analysis based on the conservative assumption in the surge line was also discussed by comparison of the results of 3-dimensional transient FSI analysis of this study. Stresses calculated with 3-dimensional transient model were considerably reduced comparing with the traditional analysis.

  • This paper presents the method for three-dimensional micro structure with photoresist spray coating system. The system consists of a high temperature rotational chuck, ultrasonic spray nozzle module, angle control module and nozzle moving module. Spray coating system is effected by several parameters such as the solid contents, the dispensed volume, the scanning speed of the spray nozzle and the wafer of dimension. The photoresist (AZ 1512) has been coated on the three-dimensional micro structure by spray coating system and the characteristics have been evaluated.

  • The three-dimensional precision measurement technology for industry product of middle and/or large scale has been developed. Theodolite measurement system which is one of the technology is widely used in aerospace industry. This paper describes measurement method and results for spacecraft structure test model by using the measurement system. And structural stability for STM is desribed through the comparison between design values and measured values.

  • In this study, numerical analysis was carried out by using the finite element method to construct the first mode shape of damaged stiffened plates, and the damage locations were detected with two-dimensional discrete wavelet analysis. In the experimental analysis, four different damaged stiffened structures were observed. Firstly, each damaged structure was hit with a shaker, and then accelerometers were used to measure the vibration responses. Secondly, the first mode shape of each structure was obtained by using the wavelet packet, and the location of cracks were also determined by two-dimensional discrete wavelet analysis. The results of the numerical analysis and experimental investigation reveal that the proposed method is applicable to detect single crack or multi-cracks of a stiffened structure. The experimental results also show that fewer measurement points are required with the proposed technique in comparison to those presented in previous studies.

  • Because of earthquakes that have recently struck, seismic design criteria that considered performance of structure were included in the design concepts. Thus, a simple analysis tool is needed to predict the strength and ductility of RC structures. In this study, three-dimensional lattice model was developed to expand the two-dimensional lattice model. Torsional analysis of the structure was done to evaluate the developed three-dimensional lattice model. Lattice model was evaluated by comparing analytical results with experimental results. Lattice element size was evaluated using the results of analysis. Torsional analysis results, using three-dimensional lattice model, show that the results are relatively consistent with the experimental values.

  • The manifold $^*g-ESX_n$ is a generalized n-dimensional Riemannian manifold on which the differential geometric structure is imposed by the unified field tensor $^*g^{{\lambda}{\nu}}$ through the ES-connection which is both Einstein and semi-symmetric. The purpose of the present paper is to study the algebraic geometric structures of 3-dimensional $^*g-ESX_3$. Particularly, in 3-dimensional $^*g-ESX_3$, we derive a new set of powerful recurrence relations in the first class.

  • Recently, It has been increased to use a multi-dimensional data in various applications with a rapid growth of the computing environment. In this paper, we propose the vector approximate tree for content-based retrieval of multi-dimensional data. The proposed index structure reduces the depth of tree by storing the many region information in a node because of representing region information using space partition based method and vector approximation method. Also it efficiently handles 'dimensionality curse' that causes a problem of multi-dimensional index structure by assigning the multi-dimensional data space to dynamic bit. And it provides the more correct regions by representing the child region information as the parent region information relatively. We show that our index structure outperforms the existing index structure by various experimental evaluations.

  • Recently, the ultra light metal structure with periodic and three dimensional truss elements takes attention because of its multi-functionality and substantial heat resistance. However, the complicated fabrication process leading to high cost has been a major obstacle to wide applications. In this paper, a new idea to construct an ultra light structure with periodic, three dimensional truss using metal wires is presented. To prove the practical validity, a Kagome-like structure was fabricated from stamped wires and punched face sheets. It was assembled by soldering. Through three-point bending and compression tests, the strength was evaluated and compared with the theory.

The purpose of the present paper is to prove a necessary and sufficient condition for a unique Einstein's connection to exist in 3-dimensional $^*g-ESX_3$ and to display a surveyable tnesorial representation of 3-dimensional Einstein's connection in terms of the unified field tensor, employing the powerful recurrence relations in the first class.
