  • To investigate and analyze of the human brain-wave changes during 3-dimenslonal image load were expected to take not only an important basic information of 3-dimensional TV usage but also 3-dimensional image design. In this experiment, to analyze the difference of visual analyze handing system for which we present the 2- dimensional image having no parallex and 3-dimensional image by visual evoked potentials(VEP). 2-dimensional image and 3-dimensional image displayed on the screen through video. In the test, the time interval was one sec for presentation of stimulus considering united time of visual information of right eye and left eye during watching the 3-dimensional image also display time interval was 200 mesc for each stimulus image. Results are as follow, (1) N190 appears faster 16msec-20msec in the point of Fz, Cz, Pz, Oz when loaded 3D4 angle than 2D3 angle. (2) About of the P300, 3D4 angle(Otherwise, Oz point was reverse) and in the case of no equipment of liquid crystal shutter, there appeared PEAK near the P250. (3) There were 5% significant difference when the liquid crystal shutter was equiped and didn't, Therefore, this phenomenon show the possibility that Liquid crystal shutter influences on Visual Evoked Potentials.

  • Several 3 dimensional image display systems were recently developed in Korea. These are a holographic video system based on pulse laser illumination, ad 8-view 3 dimensional image system capable of displaying computer generated 3 dimensional images and multiview 3 dimensional imaging system based on moving aperture and holographic screens of both transmission and reflection types. All these systems require no special glasses to watch and works impressively.

  • In this paper a new method is proposed to create 3-dimensional coordinate values from two 2- dimensional images (side and front image of objects) using image processing system and two video cameras. This method is task requiring measurements of camera lense distortion, calibrations and conversin 2-dimensional images into 3-dimensional images. This system provides 3-dimensional me- asurement error of +5mm for about 2m length objects.

  • The accurate error size and discrimination region in the perception of depth amount from 3- dimensional images by the human visual system will be the basic data for the utilization and application of the binocular 3 - Dimensional image system. This paper is focused on studying the accuracy of the depth amount perceived from 3-dimensional images by the human visual system. From the performed experiment, the following results have been obtained: (1) The depth amount perceived from the binocular 3-dimensional images has been displayed by a proper scale of distance, and found to be imprecise and also have a large variance. (2) In utilizing the binocular 3-dimensional image system, it seems more appropriate to make the images viewed outward rather than inward from the screen in the regard of error and variance. (3) The binocular 3- dimensional image system can be effectively applied to displaying unreal space, for example, the layout of room in design, from the viewpoint of perception characteristics of depth amount.

  • In the present industry, three-dimensional colored shape has required for realistic prototype in rapid manufacturing. Z-corporation developed 3D printer which can color three-dimensional prototype but this process can't be adopted to other rapid prototype products and spend much time and cost coloring 3D shape. In this study a new coloring process on three-dimensional surface is proposed for realistic prototype. Three-dimensional surface coloring apparatus is composed of HP ink jet head and X-Y plotter. Distance and angle between ink jet nozzle and 3D surface are set as process parameter. Based on the experiment of process parameters, it is shown that distance and angle affected on printed image on 3D surface. Circle and line shape are chosen as standard image shape because the shape has widely used as standard in 2D printing. Consequently, the distorted image on 3D surface is corrected by transformed input image data.

  • This study was developed using the DTP (digital textile printing) jacquard fabrics with a three-dimensional pattern for bag and evaluated the preference and emotional structure. The following conclusions were obtained. Three-dimensional patterns of 12 species using the illustrator program, including six kinds of designs based on the text and six kinds of character types based on the geometry of the basic design was developed. As a result of evaluating the preference of the three-dimensional pattern jacquard fabric, the most preferred fabric was a three-dimensional patterned jacquard fabric with a motif of the Korean consonant "ㅅ". The results of analyzing the emotional dimension of the three-dimensional pattern jacquard fabric, eight factors including simple image, feminine image, exotic image, graphic image, sporty image, masculine image, dynamic image and stereoscopic image were derived. Between emotional factors and preferences correlation analysis showed the stronger the simple image, the feminine image, and the sporty image, the more preferable. It suggested the possibility of a morphological and new fabric for bag, textile design motifs by using Hangul consonants attempt to limit the flatness of the existing geometric form patterns that can be applied to three-dimensional bag whether swirly patterns overcome.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the spatial relationship of facial bone more accurately. For this study, the three-dimensional images of dry skull were reconstructed using computer image analysis system and three-dimensional reconstructive program involved CT. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Three-dimensional reconstructive CT results in images that have better resolution and more contrast 2. It showed good marginal images of anatomical structure on both three-dimensional CT and computer image analysis system, but the roof of orbit, the lacrimal bone and the squamous portion of temporal bone were hardly detectable. 3. The partial loss of image data were observed during the regeneration of saved image data on three-dimensional CT. 4. It saved the more time for reconstruction of three-dimensional images using computer image analysis system. But, the capacity of hardware was limited for inputting of image data and three-dimensional reconstructive process. 5. We could observe the spatial relationship between the region of interest and the surrounding structures by three-dimensional reconstructive images without invasive method.

  • A new algorithm for measuring 3-D velocity components of high speed flows were developed using a digital image processing technique. The measuring system consists of three CCD cameras an optical instrument called AOM a digital image grabber and a host computer. The images of mov-ing particles arranged spatially on a rotation plate are taken by two or three CCD cameras and are recorderd onto the image grabber or a video tape recoder. The three-dimensionl velocity com-ponents of the particles are automatically obtained by the developed algorithm In order to verify the validity of this technique three-dimensional velocity data sets obtained from a computer simu-lation of a backward facing step flow were used as test data for the algorithm. an uncertainty analysis associated with the present algorithm is systematically evaluated, The present technique is proved to be used as a tookl for the measurement of unsteady three-dimensional fluid flows.

  • In this research, an investigation of the eye movement was performed when the objects perceived by the eye are three-dimensional objects, two dimensional images, and three dimensional image. This investigation was done by observing the EOG(Electro-oculogram) waves which were achived from experiments. The observed waves were categorized into several groups. Differences among the waves were analyzed for each object and image perceived by the eye. In order to obtain waves to be analyzed, two kinds of experiments were performed. In each experiments, the saccadic eye movement and the smooth pusuit eye movement was considered as an independent variable individually. Waves obtained from the experiments were categorized into 4 types(Wave1, Wave2, Wave3, Wave4) depending on their characteristics. Unlike from the other images, three dimensional image was revealed as a key factor for the active movement of the eye. Futhermore, a unique eye movement was observed in the case of three dimensional image where the focus of the eye was achived in three steps.
