An Analytic Calculation Method for Delay Time of RC-class Interconnects (RC-class 회로 연결선의 지연 시간 계산을 위한 해석적 기법)

  • This paper presents an analytic 3rd order calculation methods, without simulations, for delay time of RC-class circuits which are conveniently used to on-chip interconnects. While the proposed method requires comparable evaluation time than the previous 2nd order calculation method, it ensures more accurate results than those of 2nd order method. The proposed analytic delay calculation method guarantees allowable error tolerances when compared to the results obtained from the AWE (Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation) technique and has better performance in evaluation time as well as numerical stability. The first algorithm of the proposed method requires 8 moments for the 3rd order approximation and yields more accurate delay time approximation. The second algorithm requires 6 moments for the 3rd order approximation and results in shorter evaluation time, the accuracy of which may be less than the first algorithm.

An Improved Stability Design of Cable-Stayed Bridges using System Buckling and Second-Order Elastic Analysis (활하중의 영향을 고려한 시스템 좌굴해석 및 2차 탄성해석을 이용한 사장교의 개선된 좌굴설계)

  • Practical stability design method of main members of cable-stayed bridges is proposed and discussed through a design example. For this purpose, initial tensions of stay cables and axial forces of main members are firstly determined using initial shaping analysis of bridges under dead loads. And then the effective buckling length using system elastic/inelastic buckling analysis and bending moments considering $P-{\delta}-{\Delta}$ effect by second-order elastic analysis are calculated for main girder and pylon members subjected to both axial forces and moments, respectively. Particularly, three load combinations of dead and live loads, in which maximum load effects due to live loads are obtained, are taken into account and effects of live loads on effective buckling lengths are investigated.

  • Even if the various data analyzing methods were suggested to examine the measured slope behaviors, it is difficult to find methods or procedures for connecting the analyzed results of slope stability and measured slope data. This research suggests the analyzing methods combing the stability analysis and measured data based on progressive failure of slope. Slope failure analysis by time degradation were calculated by strength parameters composed of strength reduction coefficients, also which were compared to the measured data according to the variations of safety factor and displacement of slopes. The accumulated displacement curve were shown as 3rd degree polynomials by suggested procedures, which was the same as before researches. The reverse displacement velocity curves were shown as linear function for prediction of brittle slope failures, also they were shown as 3rd degree polynomials for ductile slope failures, which were the same as the suggested equation by Fukuzono (1985) and they were very similar behaviors to the in-situ failure cases.

  • The wrecker truck of lift type is used to move damaged car in accident spot or to move illegal vehicle in towaway zone toward pound.. This special vehicle drives by lifting front or rear side of car with the driving type of towed car. Each car is modelled with CATIA and is simulated with FEM analysis program ANSYS. This study analyzes how dangerous is the triple collision among the wrecker-towed car-driving car as comparing with the usual collision accident with cars. It is studied how responsible is the towed car in case of crashing its back side by driving car. The influence on the driving angle of towed car by lifting wrecker is also considered.

  • This study concentrates on the upwind schemes for convergence acceleration of the multigrid method for the Navier-Stokes equations. Comparative study of the upwind schemes in the Fourier space has been performed to identify why the second-order upwind scheme with enlarged stencil can be preconditioned better than the classical second-order upwind scheme. The full-coarsening multigrid method with implicit preconditioned multistage scheme has been implemented for verification of analysis. Numerical simulations on the inviscid and turbulent flows with the Spalart-Allmaras turbulent model have been performed. The results showed consistent trend with the analysis.

Design and Implementation of the Front part of an Agricultural Electric Vehicle based on Vacuum Forming using Computational Structural Analysis

  • In this paper, we propose a 3D design method of the vacuum forming method of the front part to improve the lightness and production efficiency of agricultural electric vehicles. For agricultural electric vehicles, lightness and production efficiency are more important than the strength of materials for collision protection. In this paper, we propose a vacuum forming design method that can replace complex machining processes such as laser machining, bending, and painting. The main purpose of this research is to improve product stability, productivity and convenience through 3D design of the front part and development of vacuum forming mold technology. Research procedure follows the 3D modeling of the front part using CATIA, finite element analysis for the structural stability using ABAQUS, manufacturing prototype for the investigation of the dimensions using 3D scanner and actual driving test under agricultural electric vehicle usage environment. The results verifies the proposed 3D design method of the vacuum forming method and are expected to be widely used by agricultural workers through the simplification of the production process of agricultural electric vehicles.

  • A three-dimensional model has been developed for pulverized coal combusters and gasifiers. Coal devolatilization, heterogeneous char oxidation, gas particle interchange, radiation, gas phase oxidation, primary and secondary stream mixing, and heat losses are considered. A finite difference method was used to solve the ordinary non-linear differential equations. The effects of primary and secondary stream flow ratio and coal particle size are investigated.

  • Composites are finding increasing use in a wide variety of engineering applications due to their outstanding mechanical properties. A number of studies have focused on the development of new materials as well as the response of composite structures to static and dynamic loads by assuming the external driving forces to be deterministic. However, there ate many situations in practice where the exciting forces vary randomly. In this work, the nonlinear response of laminated composite plates excited by stochastic loading is studied by the finite element method. Classical, first-order and third-order shear theories for plates are used in the finite element formulation. Since most composites exhibit significant nonlinearity in the shear stress-strain law, this is included in the present analysis.

  • 본 연구는 서울을 중심으로 한 수도권지역에서 해륙풍과 주풍 및 계절풍을 고려하여 대기오염 측정소가 있는 지점을 중심으로 강화도 석모리, 인천 용현동, 서울 불광동, 정동, 전농동, 방이동지점과 양평 국수리지점을 측정장소로 선정하여 미세먼지 분야의 측정자료를 해석한 것으로 1차 측정은 2002년 8월 5일 ∼8월 22일, 2차 측정은 2002년 10월 10일 ∼ 10월 18일까지 실시 되었으며, 3차 측정은 2003년 1월 10일∼l월 24일까지 겨울 집중 측정이 실시되었으며, 측정결과를 해석중에 있다. 또, 4차 측정은 2003년6월에 실시될 예정이다.   • 최근 제방개수 혹은 하폭확장과 같은 기왕의 제방대책을 적용하기 힘든 도시지역의 홍수피해 저감방안의 일환으로 개수로 혹은 지하터널 형식의 방수로와 같은 구조적 대안이 제시되고 있다. 현재 국내에서 검토되고 있는 방수로의 형식은 주로 유입부와 유출부의 양 지점 수두차에 의한 만관 상태의 흐름형식이다. 본 연구에서는 수두차에 의한 만관 상태의 흐름을 가지고 있으며, 3개 지점이상의 유입부를 가진 지하터널 형식의 방수로 계획시 마찰손실, 유입손실, 만곡부손실 등을 고려하여 유입부, 유출부 지점 계획에 따른 터널의 연장, 직경 등 제원 결정을 위하여 기존에 제시되어 있는 2개 저수지 유입시 정상상태 만관 흐름해석방법을 확장하여 3개 이상 저수지 유입시 정상상태 만관 흐름해석을 할 수 있도록 하였다.
