  • A layout of regenerative liquid rocket engine using turbo pump has been designed for development of high performance liquid rocket engine. each components of engine system was placed by considering assembly and characteristic. first stage engine system is controled by one plane of axis gimballing and composed of four engine assembly to cluster with launch vehicle. second stage engine system is controled by two plane of axis gimballing and composed of one engine assembly. assembly and disassembly Processes and required program have been developed. various shape of instruments were also developed for carrying out assembly and disassembly process efficiently.

  • 가스터빈 연소기의 난류유동장을 구성하는 기본적인 유동형태는 크게 밀폐관내의 돌연 확대를 가지는 동축제트, 선회유동, 그리고 연소공기공 및 회석공기공을 통해 연소실에 수직방향으로 유입되는 제트유동 등으로 분류할 수 있다. 실제 가스터빈 연소기내의 난류유동장을 수치해석하기 위해서는 임의의 형상을 갖는 3차원 유동장을 모사할 수 있는 수치해석법과 고차정확도를 유지하면서도 수렴안정성을 만족시키는 대류항 처리기법 등과 같은 수치모델의 개발이 선행되어야 하며, 이와 함께 복잡한 난류연소유동장을 정확히 묘사할 수 있는 난류모델 및 난류연소모델의 개발 및 검증이 가장 중요한 요인이 된다. 또한 가스터빈 연소기의 최적 설계는 넓은 작동구간에서 높은 효율, NOx 및 CO 배기량의 저감, 희박연소 가연한계의 확장, 연소계통에서의 낮은 압력강하, 낮은 연소벽면온도와 온도구배를 유지시키기 위한 공기에 의한 충분한 냉각 같은 서로 상충되는 설계조건을 만족해야 한다. 그리고, 이러한 상충된 연소설계조건들을 충족시키는 최적 연소기의 설계를 위해서는 실험적인 연구뿐만 아니라 연소기내의 물리적인 현상을 잘 반영할 수 있는 물리적 모델을 바탕으로 한 연소유동의 해석적인 연구를 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 원통형 가스터빈 연소기의 등온 및 연소유동장, 그리고 연소기와 연결되는 Scroll 내부의 난류유동장에 대한 수치해석을 수행하여 수치 및 물리모델의 예측능력을 검증하였고, 가스터빈 연소유동장 해석에 관련된 중요 논점들에 대하여 심도있게 분석하였다.

Evaluation of Freezing Patterns for Sand and Clay by Using X-ray CT (X-ray CT를 통한 사질토와 점성토의 간극수 동결 패턴 분석)

  • This study adopts high resolution 3D X-ray CT imaging technique to visualize and evaluate the internal structure of experimentally frozen soils. Temperature and elastic wave velocity are also measured during the freezing process. The X-ray images of frozen specimens reveal that no changes in internal structure are observed for sand specimen, whereas systematic growth pattern of pore ice is observed within clay specimen. The freezing patterns are then quantified by a set of X-ray images with the aid of two-point correlation method by computing characteristic length Lr. The results reveal that characteristic length for pore ice freezing pattern in clay linearly increases with respect to the distance from the cooling source, so that Lr at the bottom layer is 2.5 times greater than the top layer when freezing process is completed. Furthermore, during the freezing process, local temperature differences are not observed in sand, but observed in clay specimen due to its relatively low thermal conductivity.

전자부품의 냉각을 위한 자연대류 상관 관계식의 평가

  • 복잡한 전자부품의 조립시에 필요한 열적 디자인에 관한 정보는 오래전부터 실험을 통하여 얻어지고 있다. 실험적 데이터를 이용하여 무차원 파라미터로 표시된 실험결과는 꼭 같지는 않지만 현상적으로는 비슷한 상황에 응용될 수 있다. 여기서는 학술문헌에 나타나 있는 자연대류에 관한 실험적인 상관관계식들과 프레임에 수직으로 꽂혀있는 균일가열 전자회로기판의 모델에서 얻어진 무차원 자료들을 비교하고자 한다. 대부분의 자료들은 수정채널 Rayleigh수(Ra")가 15~100범위에 속하며, 이러한 범위는 부품이 조밀하게 배치된 기관이 서로 좁은 채널을 이루고 있으며, 동시에 상당한 전력을 소비하고 있는 경우에 해당한다. Wirt와 Stutzman, Bar-Cohen과 Rohsenow의 일반상관관계식은 AT'||'&'||'T Bell 연구소에서 개발된 전자기기를 이용하여 수집한 실험데이터를 잘 표현하고 있으며 10 < Ra" <1,000범위에서 추천될 수 있다. 두개의 유사한 상관관계식과 비교할 때 상당히 좋은 예측을 보였으며 또한 Sparrow와 Gregg의 연구결과와도 잘 일치하므로 Ra" < 10인 경우에 Aung의 완전발달층류의 채널유동방식, Ra" > 1,000인 경우에는 Aung등의 단일 수직평판 근사식이 추천될 수 있다.   • 본 연구에서는 성형용 코어 가공에서 초경합금(WC, Co 0.5%)의 초정밀 가공특성을 파악하기 위하여 다이아몬드 휠의 메시, 주축 회전속도, 터빈 회전속도, 이송속도 및 연삭깊이에 따른 표면거칠기를 측정하여 최적연삭조건을 규명하였다. 규명된 최적연삭가공조건을 활용하여 페러렐 연삭법으로 초정밀 연삭가공을 수행하였다. 연삭가공은 초정밀가공기(ASP01, Nachi-Fujikoshi Co., Japan)를 사용하였다. 최종 정삭가공을 수행한 비구면 성형용 코어의 형상측정결과 형상정도(PV; ${\varphi}$ 3.0mm) 0.15${\mu}m$(비구면), 0.10${\mu}m$(평면)으로 3M급 이상의 고화질 카메라폰에 채용되고 있는 비구면 Glass렌즈 양산용 성형용 코어 규격에 만족한 결과로서 본 연구에 수행된 초정밀 가공조건 및 측정방법이 매우 유효함을 알 수 있었다. 형상정도(PV) 및 표면조도(Ra) 측정은 초정밀 자유곡면 측정기(UA3P, Panasonic Co., Japan)와 3차원 표면조도 측정기(NewView5000, Zygo Co., USA)를 각각 사용하였다. 초정밀 가공된 성형용 코어면에 이온증착법을 활용하여 DLC 코팅을 수행하였다. 코팅 전후의 성형용코어를 활용하여 Glass소재(K-BK7, Sumita Co., Japan)를 최적의 성형조건(성형온도, 압력, 냉각속도)으로 성형하였다. DLC 코팅과 성형은 DLC 코팅기(NC400, Nanotech Co., Japan)와 Glass렌즈 성형기(Nano Press-S, Sumitomo Co., Japan)을 각각 사용하였다. Fig. 1은 초정밀 연삭가공, DLC 코팅막 구조, 코팅된 성형용 코어, 그리고, 성형된 비구면Glass렌즈를 각각 나타낸다.

  • In this study, the 1/20 reduced-scale experiments using Froude scaling were conducted to investigate the effect of longitudinal ventilation on the variation of burning rate in tunnel fires. The methanol square pool fires with heat release rate ranging from 3.57 kW to 10.95 kW were used. The burning rate of fuel was obtained by measured mass using load cell and temperature distribution were measured by K-type theomocouples in order to investigate smoke movement. The wind tunnel was connected with one side of the tested tunnel, and logitudinal ventilation velocity in the tested tunnel was controlled by power of the wind tunnel. In methanol fire case, the increase in ventilation velocity decreased the turning rate due to the direct cooling of fire plume. For the same dimensionless velocity(V), homing rate decreased as the size of pool fire increased.

  • Small size ice-cream maker has two evaporators having different evaporating temperatures of $4^{\circ}C$ and $-8^{\circ}C$. In such case, ice-cream maker system design becomes complicated because multiple capillary tubes affects one another. In this study, performance analysis was conducted for the soft ice-cream maker having two evaporators operating at different temperatures. The compressor was analyzed using efficiency models, the capillary tube was modeled assuming one-dimensional flow, the condenser and the evaporators were modeld based on UA-LMTD method. The refrigeration cycle simulation program was developed applying the enthalpy, pressure and mass balance on each component. Comparison of the test data with the simulated results for R404A revealed that evaporator temperatures of refrigerator and freezer agreed within $3^{\circ}C$.

A Numerical Study of the 3-D Flow in the Primary Calcinator of Porcelain (도자기 1차 소성로의 3차원 유동장 수치해석에 관한 연구)

  • A numerical simulation on a primary calcinator of porcelain was performed with using Fluent to calculate the heat efficiency by studying velocity vector and temperature profile according to variables such as the location of outlet and porcelain. Control-Volume based Finite Difference Method and Up-wind scheme are used for discretization of differential equation. SIMPLEC Algorithm and standard k-$\varepsilon$ turbulent model are selected to resolve the pressure-velocity coupling and the turbulent. The result of simulation showed that the whole velocity vector field in a calcinator was varied greatly according to the location of outlet. But the whole temperature profile at each zone was still high regardless of the location of outlet because of the radiation. But the temperature of a case with a outlet at sidepart of preheating or cooling zone was little high compared to the case with a outlet on the top of preheating zone. The velocity vector field and temperature profile in a calcinator were almost not affected by the location of porcelain, but the temperature inside a porcelain was much affected according to the place where it was located. The heat efficiency in a calcinator was 44.6% and the gas temperature in the outlet was about 1000 K.

  • In this study, high temperature integrity evaluation on a pressure vessel of the expansion tank operating at elevated temperature of $510^{\circ}C$ in the sodium test facility of the SEFLA(Sodium Thermal-hydraulic Experiment Loop for Finned-tube Sodium-to-Air heat exchanger) to be constructed at KAERI has been performed. Evaluations of creep-fatigue damage based on a full 3D finite element analyses were conducted for the expansion tank according to the recent elevated temperature design codes of ASME Section III Subsection NH and French RCC-MRx. It was shown that the expansion tank maintains its integrity under the intended creep-fatigue loads. Quantitative code comparisons were conducted for the pressure vessel of austenitic stainless steel 316L.
