Measurement Uncertainty Analysis of Performance Test for Coordinate Measuring Machine (3차원 좌표 측정기 성능 시험법에 대한 측정 불확도 해석)

  • Because of both precise measurement and efficient quality control, coordinate measuring machines(CMMs) have been widely used in the industry. The purpose of this paper is to present a method to estimate the CMM measurement uncertainty using design of experiments. A factorial design is applied to carry out the performance test proposed by ISO 10360 and to investigate CMM measurement errors associated to orientation and length of the length bar. In order to assess the measurement uncertainty for the performance test, an analysis of the uncertainty components that make up the uncertainty budget has been carried out. The procedure for evaluating the uncertainty of it follows GUM ("Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement"). The results show that the proposed method is suitable to investigate CMM performance and determine the contribution of machine variables to measurement uncertainty.

  • 본 논문에서는 적외선 스테레오 카메라를 이용하여 고속으로 날아가는 표적의 좌표들을 측정하고 회귀분석을 통한 오차특성을 이용하여 추정하는 시스템을 제안한다. 표적과 배경의 온도차이로 표적 영역을 검출하고 적외선 스테레오 카메라 정합과 카메라 파라미터를 이용하여 표적의 좌표를 추정한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 적외선 스테레오 카메라 시스템을 검증하기 위해 3차원 궤적(x,y,z) 측정기로 표적의 속도와 거리를 측정하여 표적 궤도를 예측하고, 여러 차례 실험한 비디오 데이터로부터 스테레오 정합을 이용하여 z, x축의 거리(좌표)들을 구하고 회귀 분석(regression analysis)을 사용하여 최소 자승법(Least squares method)으로 표적의 궤적들을 비교하였다. 적외선 스테레오 정합 시스템에 오차특성을 적용하여 표적의 좌표를 보정할 수 있었다. 향후 다양한 표적들의 오차를 모델화하여 고속표적들의 좌표 측정을 향상 시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The purpose of this study is the development of CAM system which can cut and measure any shape by machining center and coordinate measuring machine. The overall goal of the CAM system is to achieve the CNC machining, from digitizing through to final cutting. The hardware of the system comprises PC and machining center, CMM. There are three steps in the CNC machining, (1) workpiece measuring on the CMM, (2) geometric modeling by the CAD system, (3) NC commands generation by the tool path compensated for tool nose radius. It is developed a software package, with which can conduct a micro CAM system in the PC without economical burden.

Realistic 3D model generation of a real product based on 2D-3D registration (2D-3D 정합기반 실제 제품의 사실적 3D 모델 생성)

  • As on-line purchases is activated, customers' demand increases for the realistic and accurate digital information of a product design. In this paper, we propose a practical method that can generate a realistic 3D model of a real product using a 3D geometry obtained by a 3D scanner and its photographic images. In order to register images to the 3D geometry, the camera focal length, the CCD scanning aspect ratio and the transformation matrix between the camera coordinate and the 3D object coordinate must be determined. To perform this 2D-3D registration with consideration of computational complexity, a three-step method is applied, which consists of camera calibration, determination of a temporary optimum translation vector (TOTV) and nonlinear optimization for three rotational angles. A case study for a metallic coated industrial part, of which the colour appearance is hardly obtained by a 3D colour scanner has performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • High rigidity of structure is required to obtain its accuracy and performance in a coordinates measuring machine(CMM). Modeling of bridge column of a CMM is introduced and the unit-load method by the principle of virtual work is suggested to analyze deflections of bridge column which is designed for high rigidity. Also design of porous air bearings of each moving axis is introduced to satisfy the loading conditions.

  • 현재 3차원 좌표측정기(Coordinate Measuring Machine:CMM)는 기계가공품의 수치검사(Dimensional inspection)에 널리 사용된다. 검사과정의 자동화를 향상시키기 위해 CMM을 이용한 컴퓨터통합검사시스템이 필요하게 되었다. 이 논문에서는 자유곡면 형상에 대해 CAD지향의 검사개념을 사용하여 CMM을 이용 자동측정하고 그 결과를 토대로 측정한 자유곡면에 대한 형상오차를 분석하는 부분을 다룬다.

  • 현재 제품의 보다 향상된 의장성과 기능성을 위해서 정밀한 자유곡면 형상의 제품에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 자유곡면 형상 제품의 효율적이고 정밀한 설계 및 가공과 함께 제품에 대한 수치 검사가 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 이러한 자유곡면 형상 제품의 예로는 금형, 헬리콥터 프로펠러, 비행기 날개 등이 있다. 이러한 제품의 설계 및 가공을 위해서 많은 CAD/CAM 시스템이 개발되었다. 수치 검사 분야에서는 기하학적으로 복잡한 제품에 대한 정밀하고 효율적인 검사를 위해서, 3차원 좌표측정기을 포함한 컴퓨터의 구동의 수치 검사 장비가 개발되고, 그러한 장비를 이용한 CAI 시스템사용이 다양한 분야에서 점차 증가하고 있다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish an effective inspection system by using OMM (On-Machine Measurement) system based PC-NC. This system can reduce manufacturing lead time because part is inspected each process. Inspection process planning is accomplished by determining the number of measuring points, their location, measuring path using fuzzy logic, Hammersley method, traveling salesperson problem. Inspection with contacted sensor improve quality as inspection feature is developed to based machining feature. This method is tested by simulation and experiment, then analyzed measuring data and geometry tolerance.

  • A volumetric error compensation method was stueide with measuring systematic error of a Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM). The volumetric error equations were proposed for a Moving Bridge type CMM. Using the error equations, error vectors in the measuring volume were corrected by a software method. The CMM was controlled by the compensation program separately in the measuring and moving function of the CMM proving. The linear accuracy of the CMM was measured by the Laser Interferometer and compared with the data before the volumetric error compensation. This method was proved as low cost and effective to reduce the systematic error of the CMM, as no hardware modification is required.
