Recently, an optical disc system has been proposed using blue laser diode, high NA objective lens and groove only disc structure. A new method is needed to readout CD and DVD in this blue system. In order to readout CD and DVD in HD-DVD system, we adopted dual-lenses actuator in consideration of optical utilization efficiency, optical performance and insurance of sufficient W.D (working distance). This dual-lenses actuator has two objectives in radial direction, one is for CD/DVD and the other is for HD-DVD. We had to solve the induced problems of DC tilt increase, $2^{nd}$ resonance deterioration and AC sensitivity drop caused by disposing two lenses in an actuator. Especially, to solve AC sensitivity drop, we introduced two 2-pole magnets and separated focus and track magnetic circuits. Consequently we presented that dual-lenses actuator has been possessed good performance. And we measured eye patterns of CD, DVD and HD-DVD by using HD-DVD optical pick-up with dual-lenses actuator.

최근 디지털 기술이 발달됨에 따라 소비자는 보다 선명한 영상과 생동감 있는 음질로 영화를 관람하고자하는 욕구가 발생하여 비디오방이나 일반 영화관 대신에 DVD 영화관의 이용이 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 현재의 DVD 영화관에서는 단순히 상영시간에 맞추어 이용요금 계산 기능만을 가진 관리 시스템을 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 보다 효율적인 DVD 영화관 관리시스템을 제안한다. 특히, 여기서 제안하는 시스템은 패킷전송 기술을 이용해서 DVD 영화관에서 긴급한 상황이 발생했을 때 신속하게 대처할 수 있는 특징을 갖고 있다. 그 외 판매하는 물품관리, 신규 DVD 영화 관리와 등록이 가능하도록 했으며 관리자의 효율적인 업무를 도모하고 DVD 영화관 이용객과 원활한 양방향 커뮤니케이션이 가능하도록 하였다.

디지털 방송 서비스가 보편화되면서 MPEG-2, DVB 및 ATSC Transport Stream의 사용이 확산되고 있다. 수신된 방송 Transport Stream(TS)은 TS 그대로 이용하거나 Program Stream(PS)로 변환한 후 저장하여 이용한다. DVD같은 디지털 저장매체에는 PS가 사용되므로 디지털 방송을 수신하여 이를 DVD나 DVD-RAM과 같은 저장 매체에 저장하려면 TS를 저장용 Stream인 PS로 변환하여 저장하여야 DVD Player와 같은 매체 재생기에서 이를 이용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 TS를 PS로 변환하고 변환된 TS와 PS를 분석하여 얻어진 변환 및 변환 후의 여러 결과들을 비교 분석하여 보여준다.

본 연구에서는 20bit 고정 소숫점 범용 DSP 칩을 이용하여 Dolby AC-3 디코더를 실시간으로 구현하였으며, PC를 이용하여 구현한 AC-3 C-simulator와의 성능비교를 통하여 본 연구의 실시간 디코더가 성능이 뒤지지 않음을 보였다. 또한 향후 DVD 재생기에 있어서 본 연구의 AC-3 디코더가 어떻게 설계되었는지에 대해서도 논하였다. 특히 본 연구에서 제안하는 Dolby AC-3 디코더는 최소한의 지연시간을 갖도록하여 기존의 디코더보다 향상된 성능을 가짐을 보였다.

In this paper, two plant models, of which one is newly developed and the other one is the conventional one, of the focus servo system of DVD drive are presented and a two-degree-of freedom controller consisted of Inverse dynamics feedforward and LQG/LTR feedback controller is designed. The newly developed plant model is used to design the feedforward controller and the conventional model is used for the design of feedback controller. The output of newly developed model is the displacement of objective lens and the output of conventional model is the focus error of the DVD focus servo system. The displacement of the objective lens is estimated by the dynamics model of the DVD focus servo system. The disturbance rejection performance of the two-degree-of freedom controller is compared with that of an LQG/LTR one.

We describe holographic ROM system to read bit-type data. It has optical system similar to general optical data storage system such as DVD. But because holographic data storage systems have to adopt imaging optical system, in our system bit-type data can be read out by different servos with DVD. We devised 3-hole method similar to 3- beam method for the tracking servo and used astigmatic optical system for the focusing servo. Also we developed the reference beam servo to measure movement of reference beam because especially holographic data storage systems need reference beam. The system was operated by these three servos and objective lens of NA 0.6. We obtained eye pattern from random data of 3T-2um track pitch. We also obtained another eye pattern from DVD disk by only using focusing servo PDIC in our system to verify the compatibility with DVD.

'이제 옆 동네까지 가서 DVD를 빌려 봐야 하는 가?' 난감해 하던 김모씨. 어느 날 회사 근처 편의점을 들어갔더니 요상하게 생긴 'DVD타워'라는 기계가 있는 게 아닌가. 김모씨는 이 제품이 DVD를 무인 대여하는 자판기라는 것을 알고 눈이 휘둥그레졌다. 최신 영화 등 다양한 타이틀을 제공하고 이용방법도 쉽고 편리하다. 그날 당장 요즘 인기를 끄는 최신 영화 2편을 대여하고 '휘파람'을 불며 편의점을 나섰다.

디지탈 비디오 디스크의 약어로 지칭되는 DVD는 현대 과학이 이루어낸 레이저 광에 의한 정보의 기록과 재생을 한층 승화시킨 차세대 package형 광 기록 매체이다. 앞으로 이 제품군은 기존에 분리되어 있던 가전과 컴퓨터의 응용분야를 이어주는 교량역할을 할 새로운 개념의 상품으로 기대된다. 본 고에서는 DVD의 기술적 배경 및 이의 구현을 위해 활용된 요소기술, 그리고 미래기술로의 흐름에 관해 소개고자 한다.
