This paper introduces the design techniques of an IR module using the 2-D array un-cooled type infrared detector which is applied to the individual combat weapon. Considering the size and weight of the hand carried weapon system, we used a very small-sized detector and applied an adaptive temperature control algorithm so that the operation consumed with low power can be possible. We applied the AR(Auto Regressive) filter to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in a thermal image processing step. We also applied the plateau equalization and boundary enhancement techniques to improve the visibility for human visual system.

A low power 6-bit flash ADC that uses an input voltage range detection algorithm is described. An input voltage level detector circuit has been designed to overcome the disadvantages of the flash ADC which consume most of the dynamic power dissipation due to comparators array. In this work, four digital input voltage range detectors are employed and each input voltage range detector generates the specific clock signal only if the input voltage falls between two adjacent reference voltages applied to the detector. The specific clock signal generated by the detector is applied to turn the corresponding latched comparators on and the rest of the comparators off. This ADC consumes 68.82 mW with a single power supply of 1.2V and achieves 4.3 effective number of bits for input frequency up to 1 MHz at 500 MS/s. Therefore it results in 4.6 pJ/step of Figure of Merit (FoM). The chip is fabricated in 0.13-um CMOS process.

The Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrometer (IGRINS) is a near-infrared wide-band high-resolution spectrograph jointly developed by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute and the University of Texas at Austin. IGRINS employs three HAWAII-2RG Focal Plane Array (H2RG FPA) detectors. We present the design and fabrication of the detector mount for the H2RG detector. The detector mount consists of a detector housing, an ASIC housing, a Field Flattener Lens (FFL) mount, and a support base frame. The detector and the ASIC housing should be kept at 65 K and the support base frame at 130 K. Therefore they are thermally isolated by the support made of GFRP material. The detector mount is designed so that it has features of fine adjusting the position of the detector surface in the optical axis and of fine adjusting yaw and pitch angles in order to utilize as an optical system alignment compensator. We optimized the structural stability and thermal characteristics of the mount design using computer-aided 3D modeling and finite element analysis. Based on the structural and thermal analysis, the designed detector mount meets an optical stability tolerance and system thermal requirements. Actual detector mount fabricated based on the design has been installed into the IGRINS cryostat and successfully passed a vacuum test and a cold test.

In this study, we evaluated the effect of grid size on dose calculation accuracy using 2 head & neck and 2 prostate IMRT cases and based on this study's findings, we also evaluated the efficiency of a 2D diode array detector for IMRT quality assurance. Dose distributions of four IMRT plan data were calculated at four calculation grid sizes (1.25, 2.5, 5, and 10 mm) and the calculated dose distributions were compared with measured dose distributions using 2D diode array detector. Although there was no obvious difference in pass rate of gamma analysis with 3 mm/3% acceptance criteria for the others except 10 mm grid size, we found that the pass rates of 2.5, 5 and 10 mm grid size were decreased 5%, 20% and 31.53% respectively according to the application of the fine acceptance criteria, 3 mm/3%, 2 mm/2% and 1 mm/1%. The calculation time were about 11.5 min, 4.77 min, 2.95 min, and 11.5 min at 1.25, 2.5, 5, and 10 mm, respectively and as the grid size increased to double, the calculation time decreased about one-half. The grid size effect was observed more clearly in the high gradient area than the low gradient area. In conclusion, 2.5 mm grid size is considered acceptable for most IMRT plans but at least in the high gradient area, 1.25 mm grid size is required to accurately predict the dose distribution. These results are exactly same as the precious studies' results and theory. So we confirmed that 2D array diode detector was suitable for the IMRT QA.

This study was aimed to analyze the composition and to quantify the contents of stilbenoids in the leaves and fruits of Morus alba L. using high performance liquid chromatography with phodtodiode array detector and UV detector. Optimal wavelength for the detection of various stilbenoids such as resveratrol, piceatannol, rhapontigenin, astringin, pterostilbene, piceid, rhaponticin and vitisin A was screened by DAD detector and set to 308 nm. Seven kinds of stilbenoids except vitisin A were identified in fruits, while 5 kinds of stilbenoids in leaves. Total stilbenoids contents were $609.15{\pm}7.24$ mg/100 g d.w. in fruits and $188.57{\pm}1.70$ mg/100 g d.w in leaves. Stilbenoids contents in fruits were 3 times higher than those in leaves. Rhaponticin was the most profound stilbene, analyzed to $389.26{\pm}5.22$ mg/100 g d.w. (63.8% of total stilbenoids) in fruits and $99.17{\pm}2.79$ mg/100 g d.w. (52.5% of total stilbenoids) in leaves. Astringin and piceatannol were only detected in fruits and vitisin A was not detected. Contents of piceid and rhaponticin were higher than those of aglycone forms, rhapontigenin and resveratrol.

In this paper, a noise cancellation-method using microphone array for digital hearing aids is proposed. The microphone array is located around the ear of a dummy. Speech sound is generated from the forward speaker positioned in the front of the dummy and noise sound is generated from the backward speaker. The speech and noise are mixed in the air space and entered into the microphones. VAD(voice activity detector) and ANC(adaptive noise cancellation) methods were used to eliminate noise in the sound of the microphones. 10 two-syllable words and 4 sentences were used for speech signals. Babble and car interior noise were used for noise signals. The performance of the proposed algorithm was evaluated by SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) and PESQ-MOS(perceptual evaluation of speech quality-mean opinion score). In babble noise condition, SNR was improved as much as $7.963{\pm}1.3620dB\;and\;3.968{\pm}0.6659dB$ for words and sentences respectively. In the case of car interior noise, SNR was improved as $10.512{\pm}2.0665dB\;and\;6.000{\pm}1.7642dB$ for words and sentences respectively. PESQ-MOS of the babble noise was improved as much as $0.1722{\pm}0.0861$ score for words and $0.083{\pm}0.0417$ score for sentences. And PESQ-MOS of the car interior noise was improved as $0.2661{\pm}0.0335$ score and $0.040{\pm}0.0201$ score for words and sentences respectively. It is verified that the proposed algorithm has a good performance in noise cancellation of microphone array for digital hearing aids.

This paper presents 6bit 250MS/s flash A/D converter which can be applied to wireless communication system. To solve the problem of large power consumption in flash A/D converter, control algorithm by input signal level is used in comparator stage. Also, input voltage range detector circuit is used in reference resistor array to minimize the dynamic power consumption in the comparator. Compared with the conventional A/D converter, the proposed A/D converter shows 4.3% increase of power consumption in analog and a seventh power consumption in digital, which leads to a half of power consumption in total. The A/D converter is implemented in a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 1-poly 6-metal technology. The measured results show 106mW power dissipation with 1.8V supply voltage. It shows 4.1bit ENOB at sampling frequency 250MHz and 30.27MHz input frequency.

This paper proposes a readout integrated circuit (ROIC) for $32{\times}32$ infrared focal plane array (IRFPA) detector, which consist of reference resistor, detector resistor, reset switch, integrated capacitor and operational amplifier. Proposed ROIC is designed using $0.35{\;}{\mu}m$ 2P-4M (double poly four metal) n-well CMOS process parameters. Low noise folded cascode operational amplifier which is a key element in the ROIC showed 12.8 MHz unity-gain bandwidth and open-gain 89 dB, phase margin $67^{\circ}$, SNR 82 dB. From proposed circuit, we gained output voltage variation ${\Delta}17{\};mV/^{\circ}C$ when the detector resistor varied according to the temperature.

The decomposition of 50 pesticides present in an aqueous solution using ${\gamma}-irradiation$ from a $^{60}Co$ gamma-ray source was investigated using laboratory-scale experiment. The rates of decomposition were determined using a gas chromatography-electron capture detector (GC-ECD), high-performance liquid chromatography-photo diode array detector (HPLC-PDA), and HPLC-fluorescence detector (FLD). When the initial concentration of pesticides was 10 ppm, and the radiation dose was 2, 5, 10, 20, and 30 kGy, respectively, 14 pesticide samples showed high removal rates (>50%) at absorbed doses of more than 10 kGy. With the exception of procymidone, they were all completely removed at a 30 kGy irradiation dose. These results provide fundamental data on the reactivity between gamma-irradiation and pesticides in an aqueous solution. Further, an evaluation of the toxicity of radiolytic intermediate products is required.
We present an ultrahigh-resolution full-field optical coherence tomography (FF-OCT) implemented with a white-light interference microscope and a detector array as an alternative OCT technique. The use of detector array allows the capture of two-dimensional en-face images in parallel without taking any lateral scanning process. The phase shifting interferometric technique with the sinusoidal phase modulation (SPM) is utilized to get the demodulated OCT images. The configuration of the system and the resolution of the obtained image are presented. The topographic images, taken with the implemented system, of a coin, an integrated circuit chip, and the tomographic images of an onion epithelium are demonstrated also. Axial and lateral spatial resolution of ${\sim}1.0{\mu}m$ and ${\sim}2.0{\mu}m$ are achieved with the system respectively.
