초등학생의 블랜디드 러닝 기반 구조중심협동학습을 적용한 안전교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과 (Effects of a Structure-centered Cooperative Learning Safety Education Program based on Blended Learning for Elementary School Students)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to determine effects of a structure-centered cooperative learning safety education program based on blended learning for elementary school students. Methods: The study is developed in nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. The subjects included 24 sixth grade students in the experimental group and 23 sixth grade students in the control group, respectively. To prevent diffusion of the experiment, it was carried out from May 20th to June 24th in 2015 with the control group and the other from August 26th to September 30th in 2015 with the experimental group. It was performed on experimental group after the structure-centered cooperative learning safety education program based on blended learning once a week for 6weeks. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, paired t-test and independent t-test. Results: After the intervention, the experimental group showed significant increases in the self-directed learning attitudes and safety behavior compared to the control group except for the academic self-efficacy. Conclusion: The results indicate that the structure-centered cooperative learning safety education program based on blended learning program is effective in safety education for 6th graders.

탄력밴드 저항운동이 당뇨 노인의 신체 기능과 당화혈색소에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Elastic Band Resistance Exercise Program on Body Functions and HbA1c of the Elderly with Type 2 Diabetes)

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of an elastic band resistance exercise program on the body functions and Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) of elderly people with type 2 diabetes. Methods: Twenty-seven elderly patients with type 2 diabetes were enrolled in this study (exercise group 14, control group 13). The subjects in the exercise group participated in the program for 60 minutes a day, three times a week, for 12 weeks. All the subject's body functions, HbA1c were measured to compare the following: before the intervention, at the completion of the 12 weeks intervention, and eight weeks after the intervention. Results: Compared to the control group, the exercise group showed significant improvements in the 12 week and follow-up measurement after the intervention in body function, such as the strength of the upper and lower limbs, agility and limit of stability. The body functions of the exercise group improved as the period of intervention progressed. On the other hand, the HbA1c level at each follow-up measurement was similar in the two groups. Conclusion: The 12 week elastic band exercise program is recommended as an effective intervention for improving the body functions of elderly people with type 2 diabetes. Nevertheless, a combined intervention of steady exercise, diet therapy and drug therapy will be needed for further active prevention and management of type 2 diabetes.

  • Purpose: To examine the effects of a 36-week resistance training program on body composition, fitness and blood lipid profiles in the obese elderly. Method: fourteen subjects were assigned into the resistance training group. The 12-16 exercise sessions were performed for 60min with 15-25 repetitions twice per week for 36 weeks. Data were analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS version 12.0 for Windows. Results: Significant changes were evident in weight (t=5.983, p<.001), body mass index (t=5.922, p<.001), % body fat (t=3.480, p=.004), and fat free mass (t=-2.592, p=.022). Concerning exercises, no significance was noted for back scratch (t=-1.814, p=.093), but were for 2-min step (t=-3.075, p=.009), arm curl (t=-2.223, p=.045), chair stand (t=-3.671, p=.003), chair sit and reach (t=-2.508, p=.026), and 8-ft up and go (t=5.545, p<.001). No significant changes were evident in total cholesterol (t=1.189, p=.279), and total glucose (t=0.689, p=.517), while the change in high-density lipoprotein was significant (t=3.535, p=.012). Conclusion: The 36-week resistance training program enhanced body composition and physical fitness, but not blood lipid profiles in obese elderly subjects.

영양교육과 운동중재가 중년여성의 건강관련 요인과 식사의 질에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Nutrition Education and Exercise Intervention on Health and Diet Quality of Middle-Aged Women)

  • This study was conducted to investigate effects of nutrition education and exercise intervention on health and diet quality of middle-aged women. The subjects were 209 women who wanted to involve in the health promotion program run by Jincheon-Gun Health Center. Nutrition education was given once a week and dance sports were done twice a week for 3 months. Nutrient intakes were assessed by 24-hour recall method and food records. Dietary habits and nutrition knowledge were investigated by self-administered questionnaires before and after the intervention program. Body and blood compositions were measured before and after the program. The nutrient adequacy ratio (NAR) was significantly increased in energy, protein, vitamin A, vitamin B2 and calcium, mean adequacy ration (MAR) was significantly increased (p < 0.05), and also the index of nutritional quality (INQ) was significantly increased in protein (p < 0.01). Percent (%) RIs of protein (p < 0.01) and calcium (p < 0.05) were significantly increased and body weight (p < 0.001), body fat (p < 0.01), soft lean mass (p < 0.01) and BMI (p < 0.001) decreased. Over the 3-month study, there was a significant trend toward higher HDL-C and albumin levels and lower LDL-C level (p < 0.001). The results showed that nutrition education and exercise intervention could improve the body health and the diet quality.

Effects of Virtual Reality Exercise Program on Balance in Multiple Sclerosis Patients

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the effectiveness of an 8-week virtual reality exercise program designed around the Nintendo Wii (Wii), in improving balance among patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Methods: The study included 16 patients with MS (10 female, 6 male) who were assigned randomly to experimental (n=8) or control group (n=8). Experimental group performed three 40-minute Wii balance-training sessions per week, for 8 weeks. The control group did not perform any of the training programs. A computerized dynamic posturography (Sensory Organizing Test, SOT) was used to evaluate all patients at baseline and at the end of the treatment protocol. Statistical significance was tested in between the patients before and after treatment by t-test. Results: After 24 training sessions, SOT showed significant difference on condition 5, 6, and vestibular ratios within the experimental group from baseline to post-intervention. By contrast, no significant difference was observed within the control groups. Conclusion: These findings demonstrated that the virtual reality training program could improve the outcomes in terms of balance in the MS population. Long term follow ups and the development of more efficient virtual reality training programs are needed.

고유수용성신경근촉진법이 뇌졸중 환자의 연하기능에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation on Swallowing Function of the Stroke Patients)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) on the swallowing function of stroke patients. Twelve-week PNF (facial, tongue, and breathing exercise) was applied in the experimental group consisting of 12 subjects, and a general swallowing exercise program was applied to the control group consisting of 12 subjects. In addition, the signs of improvement in the stroke patients (N=24) swallowing function were examined by conducting a video fluoroscopic swallowing study. The data were analyzed using the SPSS ver. 21.0 program, which was also utilized to gain statistical information (percentage, mean, and standard deviation), and paired t-test was conducted. As a result of the analyses, the following conclusions were arrived at. The 12-week PNF significantly improved the functional dysphagia scale, penetration-aspiration scale, pharyngeal transit time, swallowing response time, residue in valleculae, and residue in pyriform sinuses enhanced swallowing functions of the stroke patients (p<.05). In conclusion, the PNF intervention in the swallowing function of the stroke patients was found to be an effective exercise program.

만성 폐색성 폐질환자를 위한 호흡재활 프로그램 개발 및 효과에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Effects of a Respiratory Rehabilitation Program for COPD Patients)

  • It is known that a pulmonary rehabilitation program improves dyspnea and exercise tolerence in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. However, it is also known that although it does not improve pulmonary function. This study was performed to evaluate the effect of a 4 week pulmonary rehabilitation on pulmonary function, gas exchange, and exercise tolerance in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The pulmonary rehabilitation programs included breathing exercises, such as pursed-lip breathing and diaphragmatic breathing, upper-limb exercises, and inspiratory muscle training. These activities were performed for 4 weeks in twenty one patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Pre and post-rehabilitation pulmonary function and exercise capacities were compared after the 4 week period. Results are as follows: 1) Before the rehabilitation, the predicted value of FVC and FEV1 of the patients were 70.3$\pm$16.7% and 41.1$\pm$11.9% respectively. These pulmonary functions did not change after pulmonary rehabilitation. 2) Aloility of walking a 6 minute distance (325.29$\pm$122.24 vs 363.03$\pm$120.01 p=.01) and dyspnea (p=.00) were significantly improved after rehabilitation. Thus showing that pulmonary rehabilitation for 4 weeks can improve exercise performance and dyspnea in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

24주간 운동이 고등학교 단거리 선수의 심폐능력, 기초체력, 신체조성 및 근력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of 24 weeks of Training program on Aerobic Capacity, Body Composition, Physical Fitness, and Muscular strength in High School Sprinters)

  • 본 연구에서는 고등학교 단거리 선수의 심폐능력, 기초체력, 신체조성, 그리고 각 부위별 근력이 24주간 운동을 통하여 어떠한 변화가 있는지 규명하였다. D 고등학교에 재학중이며 운동경력이 최소 4년이상된 남자 단거리 선수 8명을 연구대상자로 선정하였다. 운동 전 후 연구대상자들의 심폐능력, 신체조성, 근력 그리고 기초체력을 측정하여 자료처리 하였다. 본 연구결과, 체지방률, 체지방량, 제지방량, 그리고 체수분량 모두 훈련 후 통계적으로 유의한 증가가 있었다(p<0.05). $VO_2$max와 aerobic threshold는 운동전보다 향상되었으며 통계적으로 매우 유의한 변화가 나타났다 (p<0.05). 근력 및 기초체력 또한 통계적으로 유의한 상승 변화을 보였다 (p<0.05.) 본 연구결과 24주간의 훈련 프로그램은 남자 고등학교 단거리 선수들의 총체적 체력 향상을 도모하였다. 단거리 훈련 프로그램 작성 시 전통적인 방법으로 훈련을 계획하고 실천하기 보다는 경기력 향상 및 부상 예방을 위하여 훈련 전 종합적인 신체검사 및 체력 검사를 전문가와 같이 실시 및 평가하여 이를 토대로 개인의 체력에 맞게 훈련 프로그램을 계획 실천할 필요가 있을 것이다.

중소도시 노인들의 24주간 복합운동 프로그램이 성인병 질환자 및 정상인의 신체구성, 혈액성분, 체력에 미치는 영향 (The effects of a 24 Weeks of combined exercise programs have on physical configuration, blood components and physical strength for normal and geriatric diseased senior citizens residing in the country side)

  • 본 연구는 성인병 질환자 및 정상 노인을 대상으로 적정 강도의 유산소 운동 근력운동을 병행한 복합운동 프로그램을 24주간 실시한 후 신체구성, 혈액성분, 체력의 변화가 운동 전 후 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지 비교하고 성인병 질환자들을 위한 가장 효과적인 복합운동 프로그램을 작성하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 K도시에 거주하는 만 65세 이상의 성인병 질환자 20명과 정상노인 20명을 선정하여 이들에게 24주간의 복합 운동을 규칙적으로 실시하도록 하였다. 연구 결과로 신체구성의 변화는 성인병 집단의 경우 모두 유의하게 증가하였으나 정상인 집단은 복부지방률만 유의하게 나타났다. 혈액성분의 변화는 정상군에서 근소한 차이로 향상되는 결과를 보였으나, 유질환군과 근소한 차이를 보여 프로그램 전 후 상호작용은 유의한 차이가 없다. 프로그램 실시 전 후 근력, 각근력, 민첩성, 근지구력, 평형성에 있어 유의한 차이를 보이며 두 집단 모두 체력의 긍정적 향상 결과를 보였다. 정상인 집단에서는 건강을 유지하고 체력향상에 효과적이었고 성인병 집단에서는 질환의 예방과 악화 방지에 긍정적 요소가 나타났다고 볼 수 있다. 더불어 전 노인 인구의 50% 이상이 한 가지 이상의 성인병 질환을 가지고 있으면서도 운동의 참여도가 현저히 저하되는 현실 속에서 적극적인 운동 프로그램을 개발하여 복합운동 프로그램을 실시한다면 건강증진은 물론 삶의 질적 향상에 도움이 될 것이고 차후 보다 많은 연구가 필요할 것이라 사료 된다.

노년기 우울과 죽음불안 감소를 위한 생애회고적 이야기치료 집단프로그램의 효과 (Effects of the Life Review-Narrative Group Therapy Program on Decreasing Depression and Death Anxiety in the Elderly)

  • This study was to verify the effectiveness of the Life Review-Narrative group therapy program on decreasing depression and death anxiety in the elderly. The program was organized according to a course of life from childhood to old age. The objectives were for the elderly to enhance self-worth, to become aware of their solitary existence, to accept aging and death, to accept the life: both past and present, and to make the most of experiences in overcoming difficulties. For the most part, the program used reminiscence and re-authoring of the narrative therapy as counseling techniques. Thirty-two elderly people(16 in the experimental group, 16 in the control group) aged 60 years and over were randomly selected from patients at the Daegu Metropolitan City General Welfare Center. Two groups were identified as equivalents for the study in the pre-test. The program for the experimental group was implemented twice a week for 90 minutes per session over a 6-week period(Sep. 8-Oct.14. 2005). The pre-test(Sep. 8 2005), the post-test(Oct. 14. 2005) and the follow-up test(Nov. 14. 2005) were implemented in order to verify the effectiveness of the programs. The instruments used in the study were the Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form(Korean Version) and the Death Anxiety Scale. The data were analyzed using t-testing and One-Factor Repeated Measures ANOVA. This study supplemented other qualitative research methods in order to verify the variation in the depression and death anxiety in the elderly. The findings of the study were as follows: Significant decrease in the depression and death anxiety were reported in the experimental group. The control group however did not show any significant changes in the depression and death anxiety rates. The result of the post hoc multiple comparisons showed that the effects of the life review-narrative group therapy program has lasted effects on decreasing of the death anxiety. Nevertheless, the effects of the life review-narrative group therapy program on decreasing depression are not lasting. The study has limitations so further research is suggested.
