  • 1911년 네덜란드의 물리학자 Kamerlingh Onnes에 의해 초전도 현상이 발견된 이래, 완전 도전성 (직류저항 zero), 완전 반자성(Meissner 효과) 및 Josephson 효과를 이용한 응용연구가 다양한 분야에서 진행되어 왔다. 특허, 제한된 공간에서의 저전압 대전류 송전, 작은 송전손실을 통하여 추가 발전에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출을 저감시킬 수 있는 환경 친화적인 수단으로서, 초전도 케이블이 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 당사가 참여중인 과학기술부 주관 21C Frontier 연구개발사업의 초전도 케이블 시스템 개발과 관련하여, 세계 각국의 케이블 개발 현황의 검토를 통하여 케이블 개발 타입의 선정배경을 기술하고 22.9kV급 모델 케이블에 대한 설계안을 제안하였다.

An Elimination Method Of the Circulating Current Flowing into Coaxial-Neutral Lines in 22.9[kV] CNCV Underground Cable Systems (22.9[kV] 지중배전계통케이블의 동심중성선에 흐르는 순환전류의 제거방안 및 효과)

  • In 22.9[kV]-y distribution systems, underground cables are provided with multiple-point ground in which each coaxial-neutral line of the distribution cable lines(A, B, C phases) is 3-wire common grounded. In the underground cable distribution systems, circulating current flows in the coaxial-neutral lines and its magnitude amounts to about $40{\sim}50[%]$ load currents, even though loads are balanced. Power loss due to the circulating current consequently reaches to about 76[%] total losses occurred in all conductor lines. This power loss provokes additional temperature rise of the underground cable lines and finally results in 20[%] reduction of the current capacity of the cables. This paper presents a new ground method to overcome such a problem. The proposed method eliminates the circulating current flowing in the coaxial-neutral line effectively. Measurement results confirmed from the practical site-test show validity and effectiveness of this research.

  • In 22.9[kV]-y distribution systems, underground cables are provided with 3-wire loop multiple-point ground in which each coaxial-neutral line of the distribution cable lines(A, B, C phases) is 3-wire common grounded at every connecting section. In the underground cable distribution systems, circulating current flows in the coaxial-neutral lines and its magnitude amounts to about $40{\sim}50[%]$ load currents, even though loads are balanced. This paper presents a new ground method to overcome such a problem and a comprehensive analysis in tows of current capacity of power cables, induced voltage of cable sheath, and electromagnetic interference voltage from power cable lines.

  • As power demand increases gradually, the call for underground transmission system increases. But it is very difficult and high in cost to construct new ducts and/or tunnels for power cables in metropolitan areas. HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) cable has the several useful characteristics such as increased power density, stronger fields and/or reduced losses. Therefore HTS cable can allow more power to be moved in existing ducts, which means very large economical and environmental benefits. In these days, companies world-wide have conducted researches on HTS cable. A development project for a 22.9kV class HTS cable is proceeding at a research center and university in Korea. In this paper, we investigate the expected price of HTS cable to have a merit in viewpoint of economic aspect. First, life-cycle cost of conventional cable is calculated and based on this, the expected price of HTS cable is evaluated, which HTS cable is competitive against conventional cable.

  • With rapid development of world economics, electricity demand in metropolitan area has been increased dramatically. HTS(High Temperature Superconducting) cable is one of most promising technology to solve the bottleneck of electric network. However, HTS cable is not considered as matured technology yet to power system planners because of its different characteristics with conventional metal conductors. This paper suggests the comparison results of HTS cable simulation and experiment on steady state operation, also give the simulation results on transient characteristics of HTS cable components. This results could devote not only to discuss the security of HTS cable operation, but also to design power system oriented HTS cable.

  • In this paper, we researched the dielectric properties and voltage dependence on slice XLPE sheet from 22[kV] and 154[kV] power cable. We studied effects for impurities and water for semiconductor shield through a dielectric properties experiment to estimate performance of insulating materials in power cable. Capacitance and tan${\delta}$ of 22[kV], 154[kV] were 53/43[pF] and $7.4{\times}10^{-4},\;2.1510^{-4}$. In these results, the trend was increased with the increase of temperature. The tan${\delta}$ of XLPF/ semiconductor layer was increased as compared with that of XLPE. Dielectric properties reliability of tan${\delta}$ was small.

  • In this study, the insulation selected in degra-dated-power cable has been observed and aging process about the insulation has been investigated. Most Insulation aging process initiates in the interface of semiconducting layer and the type of the process is the fractal form that was observed between the the semiconducting layer and insulation layer. It is possible to estimate degree of the degration of cable with breakdown test and obtained data have been used to get parameters in order to use Weibull distribution. With this method it is considered to be possible to estimate situation of degration and life prediction.

  • In this study, the propagation characteristics of partial discharge(PD) pulses in the 3-phase cable systems including crossbonding joints were discussed. For the purpose, experiments for 22.9kV CNCV cables were performed using simulated PD pulses, and on-site partial discharge measurements were carried out for the 345kV XLPE cable system.
