Vocabulary Analysis of Listening and Reading Texts in 2020 EBS-linked Textbooks and CSAT (2020년 EBS 연계교재와 대학수학능력시험의 듣기 및 읽기 어휘 분석)

  • The present study aims to investigate lexical coverage of BNC (British National Corpus) word lists and 2015 Basic Vocabulary of Ministry of Education in 2020 EBS-linked textbooks and CSAT. For the data analysis, AntWordProfiler was used to find lexical coverage and frequency. The findings showed that Students can understand 95% of the tokens with a vocabulary of BNC 3,000 and 4,000 word-families in 2020 EBS-linked listening and reading books respectively. 98% can be understood with 4,000 word-families in the EBS-linked listening book while the same lexical coverage can be covered with 8,000 word-families in the EBS-linked reading textbook. By the way, 95% of the tokens can be understood with 2,000 and 4,000 word-families in 2020 CSAT listening and reading tests respectively, while 98% requires 4,000 and 7,000 word-families in the 2020 listening and reading tests respectively. In summary, students should understand more words in 2020 EBS-linked textbooks than in 2020 CSAT tests confirming Kim's (2016) findings. A Study on Methods of Describing Manifestation Applying RDA 2020 (RDA 2020을 적용한 구현형의 목록기술 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to find a resource description methods applying RDA 2020 through comparing original RDA and RDA 2020, identifying the characteristics of RDA 2020, and describing practical resources focusing on manifestation applying the rules of RDA 2020. Several things should be considered for practical cataloging manifestation by RDA 2020. First, it is necessary to figure out which among the four recording methods are allowed by the elements of entities. Second, each library should develop its own application profile which specifies the elements be used for the resource description, supports the practical resource description, and makes effective resource description based on minimum description. Third, a template for encoding format could be created based on the application profile. This study will be able to provide practical help when cataloging librarians describe resources with applying RDA 2020.

  • Europe outlined its technological development strategy in the "EU 2020 Strategy". The goal is to lift the EU's technological level above that of the United States or Japan. In particular the EU 2020 Strategy aims to make the EU the world's leading knowledge society. The research purpose of that article is to focus on international technological cooperation. Chapter two examines the EU's international technological cooperation approach. Chapter three analyses the EU 2020 Strategy in terms of development, background and content. Chapter four looks at the involved countries for technological cooperations and scrutinises possible policy alternatives. In chapter five is given a conclusion.

A GSADF bubble test analysis for COVID-19 pandemic (COVID-19 펜데믹에 대한 GSADF 버블 검정 분석)

  • We apply the GSADF bubble test and its date-stamping method for the daily number of new COVID-19 cases. The test indicates statistically significant explosive expansions of the number of new cases whose periods of panic explosion are identified by the date-stamping method of the bubble test. The date-stamping analysis reveals that as of June 30 2020, the number of daily COVID-19 new cases are still explosively increasing for India; however, they stop explosively increasing (or are under control) for USA, Brazil, Russia, Spain, Turkey, China, and South Korea. It also reveals that South Korea has two disjoint periods of explosion: a stable period follows after the first explosion of 2020.02.20-2020.03.06, and then the second explosion occurs 2020.05.27-2020.06.01 with a stable period that continues up to 2020.06.30.

The Risk-Return Relationship in Crude Oil Markets during COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence from Time-Varying Coefficient GARCH-in-Mean Model

  • In this paper, we propose the new time-varying coefficient GARCH-in-Mean model. The benefit of our model is to allow the risk-return parameter in the mean equation to vary over time. At the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020, the world witnessed two shocking events: COVID-19 pandemic and 2020 oil price war. So, we decide to use the daily data from December 2, 2019 to May 29, 2020, which cover these two major events. The purpose of this study is to find the dynamic movement between risk and return in four major oil markets: Brent, West Texas Intermediate, Dubai, and Singapore Exchange, during COVID-19 pandemic and 2020 oil price war. For the European oil market, our model found a significant and positive risk-return relationship in Brent during March 26-April 21, 2020. For the North America oil market, our model found a significant positive risk return relationship in West Texas Intermediate (WTI) during March 12-May 8, 2020. For the Middle East oil market, we found a significant and positive risk-return relationship in Dubai during March 12-April 14, 2020. Lastly, for the South East Asia oil market, we found a significant positive risk return relationship in Singapore Exchange (SGX) from March 9-May 29, 2020.
