  • Image processing and computer vision technologies are becoming increasingly important in a variety of application fields that require techniques and tools for sophisticated image analysis. In particular, image segmentation is a technology that plays an important role in image analysis. In this study, in order to identify recent research trends on image segmentation techniques, we used the Web of Science(WoS) database to analyze the R&D topography based on the network structure of the author's keyword co-occurrence matrix. As a result, from 2015 to 2023, as a result of the analysis of the R&D map of research articles on image segmentation, R&D in this field is largely focused on four areas of research and development: (1) researches on collecting and preprocessing image data to build higher-performance image segmentation models, (2) the researches on image segmentation using statistics-based models or machine learning algorithms, (3) the researches on image segmentation for medical image analysis, and (4) deep learning-based image segmentation-related R&D. The scientometrics-based analysis performed in this study can not only map the trajectory of R&D related to image segmentation, but can also serve as a marker for future exploration in this dynamic field.

  • The Earth's magnetic field acquired from KOMPSAT-1's TAM (Three-Axis Magnetometer) between June 19th and 21st 2000 was analyzed. The TAM, one of the KOMPSAT-1's Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystems, plays an important role in determining and controlling the satellite's attitude. This also can provide new insight on the Earth's magnetic field. By transforming the satellite coordinate from ECI to ECEF, spherical coordinate of total magnetic field was achieved. These data were grouped into dusk (ascending) and dawn (descending) data sets, based on their local magnetic times. This partitioning is essential for performing 1-D WCA (Wavenumber Correlation Analysis). Also, this enhances the perception of external fields in the Kompsat-1's TAM magnetic maps that were compiled according to different local. The dusk and dawn data are processed independently and then merged to produce a total field magnetic anomaly map. To extract static and dynamic components, the 1-D and 2-D WCAs were applied to the sub-parallel neighboring tracks and dawn-dusk data sets. The static components were compared with the IGRF, the global spherical harmonic magnetic field model. The static and dynamic components were analyzed in terms of corefield, external, and crustal signals based on their origins.

  • This paper deals with the comparison and analysis of brushless DC (BLDC) motor with radial and polar anisotropic plastic magnet. The open-circuit field distributions and back-emf for BLDC motor with polar plastic magnet are established analytically and the results are validated extensively by comparison with finite element (FE) analyses. On the basis of two dimensional (2-D) analytical solutions, this paper predicts open-circuit field characteristics according to design parameters and makes a comparison between BLDC motor with polar plastic magnet and it with radial plastic magnet in terms of required magnet volume and harmonic of air-gap flux density waveform.

  • High quality 3D-heterostructures were constructed by selective area (SA) molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) using a specially patterned GaAs (001) substrate. MBE growth parameters such as substrate temperature, V/III ratio, growth ratio, group V sources ($As_2$, $As_4$) were varied to calibrate the selective area growth conditions. Scanning micro-photoluminescence ($\mu$-PL) measurements and following analysis revealed that the gradually (adiabatically) coupled 2DEG-1D-1DEG field effect transistor (FET) system was realized. This 3D-heterostructure is very promising for the realization of the meso-scopic electronic devices and circuits since it makes it possible to form direct ohmic contact to the (quasi) 1DEG.

  • This paper presents leakage magnetic field and leakage inductance calculations in current transformer by means of 3-D Integral methods. From the distribution diagram of leakage magnetic flux to be analyzed using program called TRACAL 3, ti confirms a parallel to the winding axis direction of the leakage flux lines in the air gap between the windings. The leakage inductances L$\sub$r1/ and L$\sub$r2/ of the primary and secondary winding were calculated, their values are 4.23 MH and 0.49 mH, respectively. They are also similar to the measured values of he leakage inductances of the experimental verification, 4.06 mH and 0.47 mH.

  • This paper presented measurement results of scattering characteristics of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma at atmospheric pressure. In this paper, plasma actuator is fabricated by parallel connecting of basic configuration of DBD plasma actuator, then plasma could be generated by applying 14 kV, 4 kHz of high voltage generator. In order to measure the scattering characteristics of DBD plasma, in this paper, two horn antennas and vector network analyzer are used to compare the S-parameter. Because of the structure of fabricated plasma generator, different result is obtained as antenna polarization changes. When antenna polarization is parallel to electrodes of plasma generator, the scattered field is reduced by 2 dB in maximum. In addition, for parallel polarization case, PEC is set up behind the plasma generator to measure backward scattered field. When the observation angles are $40^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$, the amount of reduced scattered field is 2 dB in maximum at 5 GHz.

The patent network analysis is useful for suggesting the direction of technology development and exploring the research and development field. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the BIM technology structure and core technologies according to the convergence of BIM technology and market expansion. In this study, social network analysis was conducted by establishing a co-classification IPC network for the United States BIM patent. In particular, the characteristics of the major technical areas in the BIM technology network were identified through centrality analysis. G06F017/00, digital computing or data processing method, is a core technology field in the BIM network. Arrangements, apparatus or systems for transmission of digital information, H04L029/00 is an influential technology across the network. B25J009/00 for program controlled manipulators is an intermediary technology field and G06T019/00, manipulating 3D models or images for computer graphics, is an important field for technological development competitiveness.

  • This paper describes the analysis of electric field distribution of high voltage polymeric bushing with structure. The high voltage bushing consists of FRP tube and housing made of LSR. The field control can be achieved by means of the design of such internal field shaper and top corona ring as grading electrodes. In accordance, the optimized design uses both internal and external elements for electric stress grading at critical parts of the bushing. Maxwell 2D simulator based on the boundary element method was also introduced in order to verify the reliability of the polymeric bushing.

  • By utilizing a field emission gun and a biprism installed on a transmission electron microscope (TEM), electron holography is extensively carried out to visualize the electric and magnetic fields of nanomaterials. In the electric field analysis, the distribution of electric potential in a sharp tip made of W coated with $ZrO_2$ is visualized by applying the voltage to the tip. Denser contour lines due to the electric potential are observed with an increase in the bias voltage. In the magnetic field analysis by producing the strong magnetic field with a sharp magnetic needle made of a permanent magnet, the in situ experiment is carried out to investigate the magnetization of hard magnetic materials. The results of these experiments clearly demonstrate that electron holography is a promising advanced transmission electron microscopy technique to characterize the electric and magnetic properties of nanomaterials.
