  • 최근 승용차의 설계는 일반적으로 고속화, 경량화 추세에 있다. 이에 따라 심각하게 대두되고 있는 것이 진동문제로서, 그중에서도 조향계(steering system)의 진동은 보다 쾌적한 승차감 내지 조정성능을 저해하고 운전자에게 불쾌감을 초래하는 진동으로서 이에 대한 개선책이 요구되어 왔다. 따라서 이러한 조향계의 진동인 쉬미(shimmy)현상을 저감시키기 위해서는 다음과 같은 방법등이 있다. 1) 가진원이 되는 타이어의 불균형 질량을 줄이거나 타이어의 정밀도를 증가시키는 방법. 2) 진동전달 경고상의 감쇠특성과 조향계의 강성을 변화시켜 전달률을 줄이는 방법. 3) 차체의 동특성 변화를 통하여 고유진동수를 변화시켜 공진영역을 옮기는 방법. 이 글에서는 쉬미에 큰 영향을 줄 것으로 생각되어지는 여러 중요한 인자들을 단계적으로 포함 시켜가면서 이론해석 결과와 실험결과를 비교 . 검토 . 보완해갈 것이며, 그 결과 이론적으로 쉬미현상을 예측할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Correlation Analysis among Milk Yield, Milk Composition, and Somatic Cell Scores by Definition of Contemporary Group (동기우군의 정의에 따른 유량, 유성분, 체세포 점수간 상관분석)

  • A total of 150,624 records of Holstein milk production collected from 2005 to 2009 were analyzed to investigate the effects of two different contemporary group definitions, parity and somatic cell score (SCS). The first definition (H BY S) of contemporary group was milking cows and heifers born in the same year and season. And the second thing (H CY S) was milking cow and heifers that delivered calves in the same year and season. Effects of contemporary group, parity and regression effect on SCS from two models were highly significant sources of variation. Coverage of variation ($R^2$) was somewhat higher in models with H BY S as contemporary group. From multivariate models with H BY S, phenotypic correlation coefficients of milk components were estimated high and positive. However, the phenotypic correlation coefficient between milk yield and SCS was -0.09, which was low enough to evidence no correlation between them. Phenotypic correlation between SCS and butter fat or between SCS and protein were also negligible but negative. From multivariate models with H CY S as contemporary group, phenotypic correlation among milk traits and SCS were similar to the estimates from models with H BY S. However, SCS in these models were lowly but negatively correlated with milk yield, milk protein, butter fat or SNF, and the phenotypic correlation coefficients of which were -0.10, -0.08, -0.08, -0.11, respectively.

Modeling Study on Nuclide Transport in Ocean - an Ocean Compartment Model (해양에서의 핵종이동 모델링 - 해양구획 모델)

  • An ocean compartment model simulating transport of nuclides by advection due to ocean circulation and intertaction with suspended sediments is developed, by which concentration breakthrough curves of nuclides can be calculated as a function of time. Dividing ocean into arbitrary number of characteristic compartments and performing a balance of mass of nuclides in each ocean compartment, the governing equation for the concentration in the ocean is obtained and a solution by the numerical integration is obtained. The integration method is specially useful for general stiff systems. For transfer coefficients describing advective transport between adjacent compartments by ocean circulation, the ocean turnover time is calculated by a two-dimensional numerical ocean model. To exemplify the compartment model, a reference case calculation for breakthrough curves of three nuclides in low-level radioactive wastes, Tc-99, Cs-137, and Pu-238 released from hypothetical repository under the seabed is carried out with five ocean compartments. Sensitivity analysis studies for some parameters to the concentration breakthrough curves are also made, which indicates that parameters such as ocean turnover time and ocean water volume of compartments have an important effect on the breakthrough curves.

  • The dynamic characteristics of a bridge deduced by using the modeling techniques depend on its stiffness and mass calculated from its geometric model. This research develops the FE modeling techniques for a steel plate girder bridge with composite section. and proves their validity by comparing the results with those from actual measurement. The FE modeling techniques are divided into two categories--a simplified one and two-dimensional model and a detailed three-dimensional model. In the meantime, the dynamic responses of the bridge tested for this research were measured by the ambient vibration some of accelerometers were been attached to its upper slab girder under normal traffic load. The Cross Power Spectrum obtained from the measurement was used to analyze the dynamic characteristics by natural excitation techniques. The analytic results are compared to those of each FE modeling, and thereby the modeling techniques were proved to be valid.

  • Cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) is a high explosive commonly used for military applications. Submicronization of RDX particles has been a critical issue in order to alleviate the unintended and accidental stimuli toward safer and more powerful performances. The purpose of this study is to optimize experimental variables for drowning-out crystallization applied to produce submicron RDX particles. Effects of RDX concentration, anti-solvent temperature and anti-solvent mass were analyzed by the central composite rotatable design. The adjusted determination coefficient of regression model was calculated to be 0.9984 having the p-value less than 0.01. Response surface plots based on the central composite rotatable design determined the optimum conditions such as RDX concentration of 3 wt%, anti-solvent temperature of $0.2^{\circ}C$ and anti-solvent mass of 266 g. The optimum and experimental diameters of RDX particles were measured to be $0.53{\mu}m$ and $0.53{\mu}m$, respectively. The regression model satisfactorily predicts the average diameter of RDX particles prepared by drowning-out crystallization. Structure of RDX crystals was found to be ${\alpha}$-form by X-ray diffraction analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy.

Trichloroethylene Treatment by Zero-Valent Iron and Ferrous Iron with Iron-Reducing Bacteria - Model Development (영가철 및 철환원균을 이용한 2가 산화철 매질에 의한 TCE 제거 연구 - 모델수립)

  • Numerical simulation was carried out to study the trichloroethylene (TCE) degradation by permeable reactive barrier (PRB), and revealed the effect of concentration of TCE, iron medium mass, and concentration of iron-reducing bacteria (IRB). Newly developed model was based on axial dispersion reactor model with chemical and biological reaction terms and was implemented using MATLAB ver R2006A for the numerical solutions of dispersion, convection, and reactions over column length and elapsed time. The reaction terms include reactions of TCE degradation by zero-valent iron (ZVI, Fe$^0$) and ferrous iron (Fe$^{2+}$). TCE concentration in the column inlet was maintained as 10 mg/L. Equation for Fe$^0$ degradation includes only TCE reaction term, while one for Fe$^{2+}$ has chemical and biological reaction terms with TCE and IRB, respectively. Two coupled equations eventually modeled the change of TCE concentration in a column. At Fe$^0$ column, TCE degradation rate was found to be more than 99% from 60 hours to 235 hours, and declined to less than 1% in 1,365 hours. At the Fe$^{2+}$ and IRB mixed column, TCE degradation rate was equilibrated at 85.3% after 210 hours and kept it constant. Numerical Study on Energy Absorption of a Floater for Design of Wave Energy Convertor in Ocean (해양 파력 발전 시스템 설계를 위한 부유체 에너지 흡수에 관한 기초연구)

  • In order to design a wave energy generating system, a 6-DOF analysis technique is applied to the three-Dimensional CFD analysis on of a floating body and the behavior is interpreted according to the nature of the incoming wave. A wave period of 5.5s & amplitude of 0.57m from Marado is chosen. 12 case of natural pitching period from 1.25 to 2.8s has been modeled. The relation between tuning factor & pitch angle for the waves generated is compared to analyze the effects of energy absorption variables, namely mass moment of inertia, angular velocity and angular acceleration. From the results obtained, we conclude that model L is the maximum power absorbed, 6kW approximately. A maximum pitch angle of 1.91 degree was attained by Model F, and the maximum displacement of nearly 0.7m was attained by Model L among models D, F and L.

  • In this work, experimental errors from an impact hammer test were investigated to develop a statistic-based technique for updating a finite element model. Digital signal processing was analyzed by using theoretical models and experiments when errors occurred during the experimental procedure. First, the duration time and peak level of the excitation signal, the stiffness and position of elastic springs connecting the specimen as well as the support, position and mass of the accelerometer were considered as error factors during the experiment. Then the picket fence effect, leakage, and exponential window function were considered as candidate error factors during the digital signal processing. Finally, methods to reduce errors are suggested.

Heart-Model-Based Automated Method for Left Ventricular Measurements in Cardiac MR: Comparison with Manual and Semi-automated Methods (자동화 방식 모델 기반 좌심방 파라미터 측정법: 수동 및 반자동 방식과의 비교)

  • Purpose : To assess the effect of applying an automated heart model based measurements of left ventricle (LV) and compare with manual and semi-automated measurements at Cardiovascular MR Imaging. Materials and Methods: Sixty-two patients who underwent cardiac 1.5T MR imaging were included. Steady state free precession cine images of 20 phases per cardiac cycle were obtained in short axis views and both 2-chamber and 4-chamber views. Epicardial and endocardial contours were drawn in manual, automated, and semi-automated ways. Based on these acquired contour sets, the end-diastolic (ED) and end-systolic (ES) volumes, ejection fraction (EF), systolic volume (SV) and LV mass were calculated and compared. Results: In EDV and ESV, the differences among three measurement methods were not statistically significant (P = .399 and .145, respectively). However, in EF, SV, and LV mass, the differences were statistically significant (P=.001, <001, <001, respectively) and the measured value from automated method tend to be consistently higher than the values from other two methods. Conclusion: An automatic heart model-based method grossly overestimate EF, SV and LV mass compared with manual or semi-automated methods. Even though the method saves a considerable amount of efforts, further manual adjustment should be considered in critical clinical cases.

Analysis of the Contribution of Biomass Burning Emissions in East Asia to the PM10 and Radiation Energy Budget in Korea (동아시아의 생체연소 배출물에 대한 한국의 미세먼지 기여도 및 복사 에너지 수지 분석)

  • This study analyzes the impact of long-range transport of biomass burning emissions from northeastern China on the concentration of particulate matter of diameter less than 10 ㎛ (PM10) in Korea using the Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with Chemistry (WRF-Chem). Korea was impacted by anthropogenic emissions from eastern China, dust storms from northern China and Mongolia, and biomass burning emissions from northeast China between April 4-and 7, 2020. The contributions of long-range PM10 transport were calculated by separating biomass burning emissions from mixed air pollutants with anthropogenic emissions and dust storms using the zeroing-out method. Further, the radiation energy budget over land and sea around the Korean Peninsula was analyzed according to the distribution of biomass burning emissions. Based on the WRF-Chem simulation during April 5-6, 2020, the contribution of long-range transport of biomass burning emissions was calculated as 60% of the daily PM10 average in Korea. The net heat flux around the Korean Peninsula was in a negative phase due to the influence of the large-scale biomass burning emissions. However, the contribution of biomass burning emissions was analyzed to be <45% during April 7-8, 2020, when the anthropogenic emissions from eastern China were added to biomass burning emissions, and PM10 concentration increased compared with the concentration recorded during April 5-6, 2020 in Korea. Furthermore, the net heat flux around the Korean Peninsula increased to a positive phase with the decreasing influence of biomass burning emissions.
