  • This study assumed that the best road guidance system for the vision impaired is a robot and analyzed and verified the requirements of road guidance system. In order to do so, the characteristics and inconveniences of the vision impaired as passengers and pedestrians were examined and their reactions to warnings and dangerous situations were analyzed. Users' needs and robots' functional requirements were applied to analyze the requirements of road guidance system. To verify whether the proposed requirements would be applied to robots effectively, a service scenario was used.

  • The recent push for healthcare reform has caused healthcare organizations to focus on ways to streamlined processes in order to secure high quality care as well as reducing costs. Healthcare enterprises involve complex processes that span diverse groups and organizations. These processes involve clinical and administrative tasks, large quantities of data, and large number of patients and personnel. We propose the mobile-based workflow system of passable communication as an important factor in the B2B healthcare. Based on the above proposal the workflow system of business process was designed and implemented on the basis of Java, UML and XPDL.

  • Avoiding the industrial accidents is one of the goals in manufacturing industries from the top manager to the foremen. Therefore all the companies try to prevent occupational accidents using system safety programs in order to increase the productivity. Korean industries have been tended to depend upon historical information to control risks. The other hand, foreign industries have identified risk factors using system safety techniques to predict future risks. This study presents the method to apply the foreign industries risk control technique to the Korean industries.

  • In this paper, the sun-seeker control system that is driven by DC motor is modeled on linear 2nd order time invariant system under some assumptions. For the analysis of output characteristics, theory is developed using digital control methods. Computer simulation and numerical analysis has been performed.

  • This paper presents the application of a FARMA controller to stabilization of nonlinear Two-Generator Five-Bus power Systems. The control rules and the membership functions of the FARMA controller are generated automatically without using any plant model high complexity and severe nonlinearity of power systems are introduced and two-Machine Five -Bus Power system stabilization problem is formulated. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and application possibility of the FARMA controller to the control problem of high order and nonlinear plants.

  • This paper deals with robust integral tracking control problem based on Lyapunov method via FL(Feedback Linearization) in order to solve a reference tracking problem of nonlinear system with parameter uncertainties. To overcome a restrictive matching condition the uncertainties is characterized in a suitable form. The design procedure which combine FL and LMIs(Linear Matrix Inequalities) based on Lyapunov method to achieve the robust performance and stability is developed. Finally, the performance of proposed controller is demonstrated via simulation of a linear reference tracking problem in the MLS(Magnetic levitating System).

  • In this paper, we introduce relative Rota-Baxter systems on Leibniz algebras and give some characterizations and new constructions. Then we construct a graded Lie algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are relative Rota-Baxter systems. This allows us to define a cohomology theory associated with a relative Rota-Baxter system. Finally, we study formal deformations and extendibility of finite order deformations of a relative Rota-Baxter system in terms of the cohomology theory.

  • We have setup a compact and useful in-situ SMOKE system in order to study surface magnetism of ultra-thin films. Since the longitudinal or polar magnetic fields can be applied to the sample by just rotating the sample manipulator, It is very simple to take hysteresis curve for in-plane or polar surface magnetism. The SMOKE system was tested by investigating the surface magnetism of ultra-thin Co film deposited on Pt(111) surface.

  • The purpose of this study is to deduce the effective improvement plans of engineering education system and to provide the base materials by analyzing satisfaction and problems in the perception survey of stakeholders related in engineering education system including Engineering Education Accreditation System. Engineering education system improvement plans from the results of study are as follows. First, government and university should provide more financial support to the college in order to improve education environment such as laboratories and equipment. Second, in order to improve links among engineering education stakeholders, student-professor, student-faculty, and colleges should operate effective mentoring program and consultation plan. Third, according to service quality evaluation, colleges need to give rewards to distinguished faculties for their outstanding work and build up job training about services in order to enhance satisfaction of students and professors, Also, business related to Engineering Education Accreditation System should be simplified and needs to increase the number of workers exclusively responsible for this work. Forth, in order to enhance comprehension of learning outcome and outcome of Engineering Education Accreditation System, it is necessary to improve Engineering education innovation center's status, to establish active systematic promotion system and to operate engineering education evaluation expert committee such as 'Engineering education system evaluation council'. Fifth, because of the stakeholder's shortage of benefits and tiredness accumulation, the issue of effectiveness in engineering education institutions has raised controversy. Thus, engineering education institutions needs to take measure necessary. Moreover, engineering education improvements should be improved by reflecting opinions from professors, faculties and students who are practically planning, operating and participating engineering education programs.

Optical system design for compact digital still camera using diffractive optical elements (회절광학소자를 이용한 컴팩트 디지털 스틸 카메라용 광학계 설계)

  • In this paper, the fundamental properties of diffractive optical element were investigated. Also, this work deals with theoretical approaches for achromatization in DOE's optical system based on thin lens theory. It is found that achromatization could be satisfied by one hybrid lens only, which is composed of a diffractive and a refractive element. In order to have compact optical system, we used the tele-photo type lens composed of a positive and a negative power elements instead of retro-focus lens. From the Gaussian brackets and Seidel aberration theory, the initial design was numerically obtained. The aberration properties of an initial design was aplanat and flat field. In order to correct the chromatic aberrations, refractive and diffractive elements were used on front element. This hybrid lens is also useful for correction of higher order aberrations. Compared to conventional design composed of refractive lenses only, this approach dramatically improved the compactness of the optical system. Finally, residual aberration balancing results in a lens with focal length of 3.89 mm and overall length of 5.19 mm, which has enough performance over an f-number of 4.0. Also, it is expected to fulfill all the requirements of a digital still camera lens. This optical system is superior to the current refractive lens system in the number of elements, weight, and aberration properties. rties.
