Complete genome sequence of Lactobacillus amylovorus 1394N20, a potential probiotic strain, isolated from a Hanwoo calf

  • Lactobacillus amylovorus are known to exist in the intestinal flora of healthy cattle or pigs. The L. amylovorus strain 1394N20 was isolated from the feces of the Hanwoo calf (Bos taurus coreanae). The genome of strain 1394N20 consists of a single circular chromosome (2,176,326 bp) with overall guanine + cytosine content of 37.8 mol%. Moreover, 2,281 protein-coding sequences, 15 rRNAs, and 65 tRNAs genes were identified in the chromosome based on the results of annotation. The bacterium has a gene encoding endoglucanase, an enzyme that hydrolyzes the 1,4-β-D-glycosidic linkages in cellulose, hemicellulose, lichenin, and cereal β-D-glucans. Genomic sequencing of L. amylovorus strain 1394N20 reveals the immense potential of the strain as a probiotic with nutrient digestibility.

  • 플리커와 같은 대용량 영상저장 및 공유 사이트가 인기를 끌면서 이미지 정보의 양은 점점 늘어나고 있고 사용자들은 정확한 이미지 정보 검색을 요구하고 있다. 태그기반의 이미지 검색에서 정확도를 높이기 위하여 태그들의 의미적 연관성을 이용하는 등 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 특징점 추출에 기반하여 이미지를 분류하는데 뛰어난 성능을 가진 SIFT알고리즘을 사용하여 플리커 이미지를 분류하는 방법을 제안한다. 위키피디아 의미 연관성을 이용해 태그 정보로 1차 분류된 데이터베이스에 SIFT알고리즘을 사용해본 결과 기존의 SURF를 사용한 연구보다 높은 정확성을 보이는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 이 방법을 통하여 다양한 이미지를 더욱 정확하게 분류할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Novel Copper(Ⅱ)-Selective Senor Based on a New Hexadentates Schiff's Base

  • A novel copper(II) membrane electrode based on diphenylisocyanate bis(acetylacetone) ethylenediimine (DIBAE), as a new hexadentates Schiff's base was prepared. The electrode exhibited a Nernstian response for Cu$^{2+}$ ions over a wide concentration range (1.0 ${\times}$ 10$^{-1}$ to 1.0 ${\times}$ l0$^{-6}$ M) with a limit of detection of 6.0 ${\times}$ 10$^{-7}$ M (39 ppb). The sensor shows a fast response time (15s) and the membrane can be used for more than 4 months without observing any major deviation. The electrode revealed very good selectivity with respect to many cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The proposed sensor could be used in a pH range of 3.0-7.5. It was applied to the direct potentiometric determination of copper in black tea, and in wastewater of copper electroplating samples. The electrode was also used in potentiometric titration of the copper(II) ion with EDTA.

  • In this parer, a novel architecture for Home gateway is Proposed. In home network system, there exist many different kinds of data types, like audio, video, and control information. And the communication is over multiple networks, like bluetooth, wireless LAN, USB, IEEE1394, and Power Line Communication (PLC). The hardware architecture of the Home gateway presented in this paper is based on ISO/1EC JTC 1/sc 2S/WG 1(1,2). The architecture proposed in this paper takes into account the characteristics of home network environment, so the Packets in the home network system can be processed very efficiently.

  • In this paper, we propose some essential requirements for CBM(Computer Based Multimedia) based distance education. This is a class of multimedia distance education in which the multimedia technique is combined with the distance home education application that is real time collaborative application on cyber-space using the information super highway. Requirements in this paper is observed standard at ITU(International Telecommunication Union). international standardization organization for multimedia communication. And. a structure for integrated home information service on the information super highway is based on IEEE 1394 serial communication and POF(Plastic Optical Fiber) home backbone that is study for application service according to the multimedia based distance home study system.

  • As the new technologies, such as IEEE 1394, USB, Bluetooth, PLC are appeared, the embedded real time operating system which is satisfied the various technologies is needed. This paper proposed and implemented C standard library which is independently used in real time operating system and which supports an application development interface. The proposed C standard library is based on EL/IX, an Embedded Linux API based on POSIX, which is suitable for other embedded operating systems as well. And because the proposed C standard library has four level, it supports various Internet appliances, such as digital TV, settop box. The developed C library is tested at Qplus-P real time operating system which is developed at ETRI.

  • 본 논문에서는 퍼스널 자바 환경을 탑재한 셋톱박스에 IEEE 1394를 지원하는 디지털 가전기와 X.10을 지원하는 단순 가전기기가 연동된 홈 네트워크 환경을 제시하고, 사용자가 웹 브라우저를 이용하여 각 가전기기를 원격 관리를 할 수 있도록 지원하는 내장형 웹 서버의 설계 및 구현 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문의 웹 서버는 HTTP 1.1의 세션 유지 기능을 지원하며 JSDK 2.1 지원을 위해 서블릿 엔진을 내장하였고, 퍼스널 자바 환경에서 동작되도록 순수 자바로 개발되었다.
