  • Nowadays electromagnetic contactors are used for power on-off in various electrical loads. If the severe arc are occurred when power off, the magnetic contactor can not long run because of damage of contactor. In this paper, Authors indicate a method of how to minimize the arc when power off, Authors contrived a electronic circuit which can adjust the demagnetizing point of electro magnetic contactor, and control the demagnetizing point, utilizing our circuit, so as to occur the extinguish of arc at near the AC current zero point which is indispensibly exists. From the results of study, Authors could get confirmations the AC circuit could cut off with occurrence of mininum arc, and that possibility of extensive utilization of our method to hightension circuit.

  • Optimal designs of a 3-point and a 4-point engine mount system are presented for reducing the idle shake of a Front Wheel Drive(FWD) vehicle. Design variables used in this study are the locations, the angles and the stiffness of an engine mount system. The goal of the optimization is minimizing the transmitted force without violating the constraints such as static weight sag, resonant frequency and side limits of design variables. The Augmented Lagrange Multiplier(ALM) Method is used for solving the nonlinear constrained optimization. The generalized Jacobi and the impedence method are employed for a free vibration analysis and a forced response analysis. The trend of analysis results well meet that of the experimental results. The optimization results reveal that the 4-point system transmits less torque than the 3-point system. It is also found from the design sensitivity analysis that the vibration characteristics of the 4-point system is less sensitive than those of the 3-point system.

  • Studies of non-point pollutant treatment facilities have widely been conducted for a decade, but natural non-point pollutant treatment facilities implemented on roads have not been carried out for the removal efficiency of non-point pollution sources. This study analyzed the removal efficiency of non-point pollution sources from constructed wetlands using monitoring and event mean concentration method. As a result of this study, removal efficiency of general non-point pollution sources as TSS, COD, BOD is relatively good, but removal efficiency of TN, TP, Cr, Zn, Pb is very small or nothing.

  • This paper proposes a new IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm, which is proper for IMDCT(Inverse Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) of MPEG-2 AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) decoder. The $2^n$(N-point) type IMDCT is the most powerful among many IMDCT algorithms, however it includes IFFT that requires many calculation cycles. The IFFT used in $2^n$(N-point) type IMDCT employ the bit-reverse data arrangement of inputs and N/4-point complex IFFT to reduce the calculation cycles. We devised a new data arrangement method of IFFT input and $N/4^{n+1}$-type IFFT and thus we can reduce multiplication cycles, addition cycles, and ROM size.

  • In skin-marker based motion analysis, knee translation measurement is highly dependent on a pre-selected reference point (functional center) on each segment determined by the location of anatomical landmarks. However, the placement of skin markers on palpable anatomical landmarks (i.e., femoral epicondyles) has limited reproducibility. Thus, it produces large variances in knee translation measurement among different subjects, as well as across studies. In order improve the repeatability of knee translation measurement, in this study an optimization method was introduced, by which the femoral functional center was numerically determined. At that point the knee anteroposterior translation during the stance phase of walking was minimized. This new method was tested on 30 healthy subjects during walking in gait lab with motion capture system. Using this new method, the impact of skin marker position (at anatomical landmarks) on the knee translation measurement has been minimized. In addition, the ranges of anteroposterior knee translations during stance phase were significantly (p<0.001) smaller than those measured by conventional method which relies on a pre-selected functional center ($11.1{\pm}3.5mm$ vs. $19.9{\pm}5.5mm$). The results of anteroposterior translation using this new method were very close to a previously reported knee translation (12.4 mm) from dual fluoroscopic imaging technique. Moreover, this new method increased the reproducibility of knee translation measurement by 50%.

  • Currently many devices reproduce electronic images in the various ways. However the color that is reproduced in any device is different from the original color due to the difference in the gamut between devices. In this paper, an image dependent gamut mapping method is proposed. This method clips the chroma with compensating for the change of lightness caused by the lightness scaling. The anchor point, which is the center point in the mapping, is set as a lower point by the proposed method than a point by the conventional mapping method. This reduces the color difference between point. In addition, to heighten the color contrast on the constant hue, the different two mapping methods are applied to the printer gamut which is divided in two region, bright region and dark region. Consequently, the printer output image was highly consistent with the corresponding monitor image.

  • Recently Salkuyeh and Rahimian in (Comput. Math. Appl. 74 (2017) 2940-2949) proposed a modification of the generalized shift-splitting (MGSS) method for solving singular saddle point problems. In this paper, we present the spectral analysis of the MGSS preconditioner when it is applied to precondition the singular saddle point problems with the (1, 1) block being symmetric. Some eigenvalue bounds for the spectrum of the preconditioned matrix are given. We show that all the real eigenvalues of the preconditioned matrix are in a positive interval and all nonzero eigenvalues having nonzero imaginary part are contained in an intersection of two circles.

  • In this paper, the singular three-point boundary value problem $$\{{{u"(t)\;+\;f(t,\;u)\;=\;0,\;t\;{\in}\;(0,\;1),}\atop{u(0)\;=\;0,\;u(1)\;=\;{\alpha}u(\eta),}}\$$ is studied, where 0 < $\eta$ < 1, $\alpha$ > 0, f(t,u) may be singular at u = 0. By mixed monotone method, the existence and uniqueness are established for the above singular three-point boundary value problems. The theorems obtained are very general and complement previous know results.

  • In order to calculate the dose on each interest point in five types of irregularly shaped fields used commonly in radiotherapy, the tissue-air ratios (TAR) in these fields for Go-60 gamma radiation were calculated using the newly devised SAR-chart. The TARs calculated from newly method of using the SAR-chart, computer method and approximation method at the interest point were compared to the TARs obtained from measurement. The result are as follows; In case of the interest points on central axis the calculated TARs in irregularly shaped fields by the above mentioned methods were well agreed within the error of $1\%$, whereas for the interest points on off-axis the calculated TARs were resulted in the maximum errors of $2.4\%,\;2.3\%$ and $8.8\%$ respectively. From these results, the accuracy of calculation method of using the SAR-chart was comfirmed.
