본자료는 미국의 타이어 전문지인 「Modern Tire Dealer」에서 조사한, 83년도 미국의 타이어 산업 및 타이어시장 전반에 관한 실적분석이다. 83년도 미국 타이어업계의 수급실적을 보면, 승용차용 타이어의 총출하량은 178백만본으로 82년보다 약 9.2% 증가하였으며, 트럭ㆍ버스용 타이어의 총출하량도 3,470만본으로 82년보다 약 10.2% 증가되었다. 한편, 시장별로 보면 ,교환용 타이어시장에서는 승용차용이 134백만본으로 전년보다 약 3.1% 증가되었으며, 트럭ㆍ버스용은 2,950만본으로 전년보다 약 9.3% 증가하였다. 또 신차용 타이어시장에서는 승용차용이 44백만본으로 전년대비 33.3% 증가되었고, 트럭ㆍ버스용도 520만본으로 15.6% 증가하였다. 즉, 83년도 미국 타이어시장은 전반적으로 평균 약 9.4% 증가되었다.<편집자 주>

The ring expansion of 1,3-thiazolidines 4 derived from ${\beta}$-ketoacid derivatives to the corresponding dihydro-1,4-thiazines 1 by using the action of chlorine on 4 has been achieved. In the chlorinolysis unisolable sulfenyl chlorides 5 may be formed from chlorosulfonium ions 11 by ${\beta}$-elimination involving carbonyl activated methylene hydrogens. Addition of sulfenyl chloride to the internal double bond appears to form probable thiiranium ions 14, which in turn gave 1 with loss of acidic proton. Imminium ions 15 could be hydrolyzed easily to give enol 8. As a side reaction, dihydrothiazine that was formed was further chlorinated to produce dichlorides 16 which were rearranged readily to the chloromethyl compounds 10.

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of physical therapy intervention with local vibration on the physical function of patients with traumatic patella fractures. Methods: This study recruited 6 subjects who had suffered traumatic patella fractures. The study was conducted for an average of 12.8 weeks. Before the treatment (2 weeks post-surgery), they were evaluated using the numeric pain rating scale (NPRS), the Korean-version of the impact of event scale-revised (IES-R-K), pressure pain threshold (PPT), range of motion (ROM) of the knee joint, and the Korean knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score (K-KOOS) and were reevaluated after 7 and 12 weeks, post-surgery. This study was conducted according to ORIF Patella Fracture Post-Operative Rehabilitation Protocol after applying local vibration. The protocol consists of Phases 1~5 and this study has been applied from phase 2. Results: A comparison of the performance of the participants before and after the intervention showed a decrease in NPRS (9.83±.41→4.83±.98), IES-R-K (68.67±2.73→23.83±2.40), and K-KOOS (Function, Daily living: 70.5±5.96→34.0±3.35, Function, Sports and Recreational activities: 22.83±2.32→10.77±1.37, Quality of Life: 19.33±7.33→7.33±.52) scores. And the ROM (Knee flexion: 30.0±4.47°→128.73±3.6°, Knee extension: -6.83±2.48°→-1.33±1.03°) and PPT (9.67±.52kg/cm²→22.44±2.33kg/cm²) scores increased. Conclusion: These results show that physical intervention with local vibration using a Blackroll® booster and head can help to improve pain, physical function, and psychological status. Also, it was possible to select interventions depending on the patient's condition and the desired goal, using physical intervention with the Blackroll® booster technique.

Hepatitis A (HA) is an acute infectious disease of the liver caused by the Hepatitis A virus (HAV). In acute HA, the presence of anti-HAV IgM is detectable and about 3 weeks after exposure, its titre increases over 4 to 6 weeks. Anti-HAV IgG is detectable within a few days of the onset of symptoms. IgG antibodies continue to last for years after infection and provide lifelong immunity to the host. This study was performed to investigate the current seroprevalence of anti-HAV antibodies in Jeonbuk province, South Korea. A total of 591 (male 322, female 269) serum samples were collected in July 2011 to June 2012. We tested the antibodies of anti-HAV IgG and IgM using a Modular E170 (Roche Diagnostics, Germany), and analysed the serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels by HITACH 7600-100 (HITACH, Japan). The overall seroprevalence of anti-HAV IgG was 84.6% (500/591), and the rate of females (85.9%) was higher than males (83.5%). According to the decade of age, seroprevalence of anti-HAV IgG were as follows; 68.8% (11/16) in the under 10 years old category, 100% (19/19) in the 10~19 category, 96% (48/50) in the 20~29 category, 83.6% (56/67) in the 30~39 category, 84.3% (123/146) in the 40~49 category, 83.3% (135/162) in the 50~59 category, 83.1% (54/65) in the 60~69 category, 78.1% (32/41) in the 70~79 category, and 88% (22/25) in the over 80 category. Total seroprevalence of anti-HAV IgM was 3.4% (20/591), and according to gender, the seroprevalence of male (3.1%) was very similar to that of female (3.7%). Through this study, we know that the seroprevalence of anti-HAV antibody in north-west Jeonbuk province, South Korea, was high. Only children under the age of 10 remain susceptible to HAV infection. Vaccination against HAV is not needed at the present time for the people of Jeonbuk province, South Korea, but a vaccination should be recommended and the improvement in sanitary conditions and personal hygiene should be highlighted.

In this paper, we proposed the small planar monopole antenna with modified ground plane for UWB communications. The proposed antenna not only shows Ultra-Wideband characteristic(3.1~10.6 GHz) suitable for UWB communications but has partially notched-band characteristic to reject 5 GHz WLAN band(5.15~5.35 GHz, 5.470~5.825 GHz). The proposed antenna improved impedance matching through two slits on ground plane, and the rejection band was induced by two ${\lambda}$/4 open stubs on center of two slits. Fabricated antenna satisfied VSWR${\leq}$2 in 2.88~10.83 GHz except for the band rejection of 5.08~5.83 GHz.

Background: L-asparaginase (L-ASP) is a critical agent for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and lymphoma, which is associated with serious toxicities including hypersensitivity, pancreatitis and thrombosis. Methods: To evaluate the toxicity of L-ASP in real clinical settings, we included the patients with L-ASP adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reported in a regional pharmacovigilance center of Seoul St. Mary's hospital from January 2014 to December 2015. Results: A total of 83 cases of L-ASP related ADRs were reported in 54 patients. Of these 83 cases, 65 cases (78.3%, 65/83) were spontaneously reported and 18 cases (21.7%, 18/83) were detected by further medical records review. Of the patients with ADRs, pediatric patients accounted for 83.3% of the cases (45/54) and median age was 9 years. The most common clinical manifestations of ADRs were hematology manifestations (31.3%, 26/83), followed by hepatobiliary manifestations (18.1%, 15/83). Thirty-four serious ADRs were reported in 19 patients. The sserious ADR group showed significantly longer hospitalization and higher rate of discontinuation of L-ASP than the non-serious ADR group (p = 0.005, 0.03). The most common clinical manifestations of serious ADRs were hepatobiliary manifestations (41.2%, 14/34). In total, 8 cases (9.6%, 8/83) of unlabeled ADRs were identified. They were serious ADRs. Conclusion: We identified unlabeled serious ADRs of L-ASP. Also, correlations were observed between serious ADRs and length of hospitalization, discontinuation rate respectively. Further investigations and developed spontaneous ADR reporting systems are needed to evaluate these correlations.

This paper presents a design for trapezoidal planar UWB(Ultra Wide-band) antenna using symmetry meander line to realize broad bandwidth at low frequency region. The size of proposed design antenna is $15.5{\times}21{\times}1.6mm^3$ and dielectric substrate considered in design has 4.4 of relative permittivity. The calculated bandwidth is from 1.31 GHz to 10.83 GHz and the measured return loss is 1.5 GHz to 10.6 GHz at -10 dB below, and satisfies with the UWB antenna's bandwidth. The simulated and measured radiation patterns show fine agreement with each other at each frequency.

Successful silkworm breeding attempts were made at Andhra Pradesh State Sericulture Research and Development Institute (APSSRDI), Hindupur, India in developing productive bivoltine silkworm hybrids. One hundred hybrid combinations involving 10 parents (five each of oval and peanut) were evaluated in complete diallel pattern and identified the combination APS$_{83}$ $\times$ APS$_{102}$ as most promising. This hybrid showed economic merit for the characters fecundity (524 eggs/laying), pupation percentage (96.0$\%$), cocoon yield per 10,000 larvae by weight (19.0 kg), cocoon weight (1.85 g), shell weight (41.7 cg), shell ratio (22.5$\%$), filament length (1,004 m), reelability (88.4$\%$), raw silk recovery (18.4$\%$) and neatness (92 point) over the control hybrid APS$_{9}$ $\times$ APS$_{8}$ The breeding process and identification of APS$_{83}$ $\times$ APS$_{102}$ is discussed in the paper.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of pH of sperm-washing solution, sperm-washing frequency and individual bull on concentration of hydrogen ion in sperm-washed solution and sperm acrosome reaction. The results obtained were as follow. 1. When bovine sperm was washed at 4 times with SHP solution and incubated, the difference of light absorbance between sperm-washing and sperm-washed solution(${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At) was higher in 2nd sperm-washed solution than that in the other washed solutions. 2. When sperm was thrice washed with SHP solutions of pH 5.99, 6.38, 6.78, 7.10, 7.40, 7.69, 8.15, 8.45, and 8.83, ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At was significantly increased at pH7.69 to 8.83, and ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At in 1st sperm washed solution was significantly higher than that in 2nd and 3rd sperm washed solution. 3. When sperm of Holstein, KNC and Hereford was thrice washed with SHP solutions of pH 5.99, 6.38, 6.78, 7.10, 7.40, 7.69, 8.15, 8.45, and 8.83, Holstein showed higher ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At of sperm Washed solution than KNC and Hereford, and ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At in sperm washed solution was significantly increased at 7.69 for Holstein and at 8.15 for KNC and Hereford, respectively. 4. When sperm was thrice with SHP solution of pH 6.8, 7.1 and 7.4, and then incubated in mTALP of pH 7.4 for 15 minutes, in 1st and 2nd sperm washing ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At of sperm washed solution was significantly higher at pH 7.1 and 7.4 than at pH 6.8, and the sperm acrosome reaction of pH 6.8, 7.1 and 7.4 was 49.1, 68.8 and 72.9%, respectively. The sperm acrosome reaction of pH 7.1 and 7.4 was higher than that of pH 6.8.
