오존 가스가 피부창상의 치유에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Ozone Gas on Wound Healing in Skin)

  • This study was performed to determine the optimal dose of ozone for wound healing. Twenty Korean black goats were allocated to 4 groups. The skin wound with $1{\times}1cm$ was induced over the hoof. For 5 minutes per day, 0.1 ppm (Group I), 1 ppm (Group II) and 6 ppm (Group III) ozone gas was applied. In control group, 5 ml of normal saline was applied daily on the wound. Wound square was determined using color image analyzer at day 0, 4 and 14. Soft tissue depth of wound was determined using radiograph. Before the application of ozone gas, $1{\times}1cm$ of skin tissue was resected and observed for histopathologic findings. To determine the healing effect, $2{\times}1cm$ of wound tissue was resected and observed for histopathologic findings at day 14. In mean squares of wound, all experimental groups revealed more reduced mean squares than control group at day 4, and especially Group II (p<0.05) and Group III (p<0.05) revealed significant reduction. At day 14, Group I and Group II (p<0.05) revealed more reduced mean squares than control group, but Group III revealed less reduced mean squares than control group. In soft tissue depth of wound, all experimental groups and control group revealed swelling at day 4, compared with day 0. At day 14, all experimental groups and control group revealed reduction, compared with day 4, and especially Group II (p<0.05) revealed significant reduction. In histopathological findings, inflammation findings in epidermis and dermis, hemorrhagic finding in epidermis were revealed in control group. In Group I, inflammation finding was reduced, compared with control group. Formation of scab and many reepithelialization of epidermis were revealed. In Group II, inflammation findings in epidermis and dermis which were observed in control group were not found, normal skin tissue was revealed. In Group III, inflammation findings in epidermis and dermis were revealed, reepithelialization of epidermis was not founded. Slow healing process was observed, compared with Group I and II. It was concluded that Group II has excellent promotion effect of wound healing.

공조용 박형 전기집진장치 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Thin ESP for High Efficient Air-conditioner)

  • In order to develop a thin type ESP(Electrostatic Precipitator) for high efficient air-conditioner with low concentration of ozone generation, collecting electrode spacing should be narrower than that from Deutsch formula and minimizes discharge current in ionizer. In this paper, the effect of applied voltage on the precipitation efficiency and ozone concentration of scroll type ESP was studied. As a result, precipitation efficiency(one pass) was improved by about 30[%] from increment of collector voltage(3.5[㎸]). Precipitation efficiency was increased with increasing ionizer voltage. And after some point, the efficiency was saturated. At the point, voltage and ionizer current was 5.2[㎸] and 95$[\muA]$ per meter respectively. At these applied voltage conditions, ozone concentration was saturated about 0.01[ppm] after 3 hours in 23$[m^3]$ closed room test.

대두에서 오존처리에 의한 몇가지 효소의 활성도 변화 (Ozone-induced Alterations in the Activities of Enzymes in Soybean Leaves)

  • 오존의 처리에 의한 식물체의 항산화 제거 시스템에 관여하는 항산화효소의 활성도 변화를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다.저분자(低分子)의 항산화물질(抗酸化物質)인 아스코브산은 은하콩과 삼남콩 공히 오존의 노출시간(露出時間)이 길어질수록 서서히 감소(減少)하는 경향(傾向)을 보였으며 환원형(還元形) 글루타치온의 함량변화(含量變化)는 은하콩에서는 거의 증가가 없었으나 삼남콩의 경우는 오존처리 1시간 이후(以後)부터 상당한 증가(增加)가 있었다. Ascorbate peroxidase의 활성도(活性度)는 은하콩에서는 오존처리 초기(初期)부터 서서히 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)을 보였으나 삼남콩의 경우는 처리 4시간 이후에 급격하게 증가하는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. Glutathione reductase활성도(活性度)는 은하콩은 오존처리 3시간까지는 서서히 증가(增加)하다가 그 이후(以後)에 급격(急激)하게 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)이었으며, 삼남콩은 활성증가(活性增加)가 뚜렷하지 않았다. Dehydroascorbate reductase의 활성도(活性度)는 두 품종(品種) 공히 오존처리시 대조구(對照區)보다 활성(活性)이 낮게 나타났으며 처리 3시간 이후(以後)부터 활성(活性)이 크게 감소(減少)하였다. Monodehydrosascorbate reductase는 두 품종(品種) 공히 처리초기부터 활성증가(活性增加)가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 삼남콩의 경우에는 2시간 처리(處理)시 급격(急激)한 증가(增加)를 보이다가 일정(一定)하게 유지(維持)되는 경향(傾向)을 나타내었다. 은하콩의 Ascorbate peroxidase 동위효소(同位酵素)의 패턴변화는 0.2ppm의 오존의 처리(處理)시 5개의 활성 밴드가 확인되었고 Rf 0.18위치의 밴드가 새로 형성되었으며 Rf 0.38의 밴드가 약해지며 0.48위치의 활성 밴드가 강하게 나타났다.

중앙차선 버스 정류장과 주변지역의 대기오염 특성 비교 (Comparison of Air Pollution Characteristics in the Center Lane-Bus Stop and the Surrounding Areas)

  • The use of bus stop in the center lane has reduced the emissions of exhaust gas on the road due to the improvement of the traffic speed but has caused a health problem for the citizens who are waiting for the bus in the platform, and thus the air pollution control of bus stop in the center lane is emerging as a more important part. This study was conducted to investigate the air pollution degree for the center lane-bus stops in four regions using mobile air measuring vehicle, and to evaluate the characteristics of air pollution by comparing with the data measured at the urban air monitoring site close to the bus stops. In addition, the correlation analysis was performed to analyze the impact to neighboring region by vehicle exhaust gas. The regional mean concentration of nitrogen dioxide in the center lane-bus stops ranged from 0.025 to 0.043 ppm which shows from 2.5 times to 5.3 times higher than the values of urban air monitoring site selected as a control group. The regional mean concentration of ozone in the center lane-bus stops ranged from 0.023 to 0.034 ppm which shows from 3% to 28% lower than the values of urban air monitoring site selected as a control group. The concentrations of nitrogen dioxide and ozone for the sampling regions did not exceed one hour-air quality environmental standard (0.1 ppm). The mean concentration of particulate matter for four center lane-bus stops was $28{\mu}g/m^3$ which shows about 27% higher than the values of urban air monitoring site selected as a control group, and that of particulate matter did not exceed one day-air quality environmental standard ($100{\mu}g/m^3$). In the results of correlation analysis between data from center lane-bus stops and data from urban air monitoring sites, the correlation coefficient (r) of nitrogen dioxide was relatively low as 0.316 to 0.416, and the correlation coefficient was high as the distance was close and vice versa. However, the correlation coefficient of ozone ranged from 0.167 to 0.658 and the correlation coefficient was high as the distance was far and vice versa.

오존(O3) 노출에 의한 조각깔따구(Glyptotendipes tokunagai)의 체색 변화 및 heat shock protein 70 발현 변화 (Expression of Heat Shock Protein 70 Gene and Body Color Changes in Non-biting Midge Larvae (Glyptotendipes tokunagai) Effected by O3 Treatment)

  • 오존은 수돗물 정수장에서 이용되는 소독 물질로 미세오염 물질들을 비롯해서 박테리아나 병원성 미생물체를 효과적으로 제거하는 것으로 많은 연구가 보고되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 실내 사육 중인 붉은 체색을 지닌 Glyptotendipes tokunagai를 대상으로 서로 다른 농도의 오존 노출에 따른 영향을 파악하기 위해 치사율, 체색 변화와 heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) 유전자 발현을 측정하였다. 오존에 노출된 G. tokunagai에서 농도-시간 의존적으로 치사율 증가가 관찰되었다. 또한 체색 변화는 오존 농도에 따라 붉은색의 체색이 체절마다 엷어지며 탈색되고 경직되는 현상이 보였다. HSP70 유전자 발현은 저농도인 0.2~0.5 ppm에서 노출 10분과 20분에 유의한 수준으로 높게 나타났으나(P<0.05), 30분 노출 후에는 발현량이 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 생리적으로 저산소층에 대해 적응능력이 뛰어난 깔따구 경우에도 오존은 매우 강력한 치사 효과를 유발하여 30분 노출 후 경직과 헤모글로빈 파괴로 인한 탈색이 유발되는 것을 보여주었다. 따라서 본 결과는 수돗물 정수장에서 병원성 미생물을 제거하는 데 사용되는 오존이 수생물에 주는 영향성을 파악하는 기초자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

SPM을 이용한 반도체 포토레지스트 제거 공정 대체를 위한 DIW-$O_3$ 방식 세정기술 개발 (Development of the DIW-$O_3$ Cleaning Technology Substituted for the Semiconductor Photoresist Strip Process using the SPM)

  • Recently the utilization of the ozone dissolved de-ionized water(DIW-$O_3$) in semiconductor wet cleaning process and photoresist stripping process to replace the conventional sulfuric acid and hydro peroxide mixture(SPM) method has been studied. In this paper, we propose the water-electrode type ozone generator which has the characteristics of the high concentration and purity to produce the high concentration DIW-$O_3$ for the photoresist strip process in the semiconductor fabrication. The proposed ozone generator has the dual dielectric tube structure of silent discharge type and the water is both used to electrode and cooling water. Through this study, we obtained the results of the 10.3 wt% of ozone gas concentration at the oxygen gas of 0.5 [liter/min.] and the DIW-$O_3$ concentration of 79.5 ppm.. Through the photoresist stripping test using the produced DIW-$O_3$, we confirmed that the photoresist coated on the silicon wafer was removed effectively in the 12 minutes.

생 홍고추 장기저장을 위한 살균공정의 비교 (Comparison of Sanitization Process for Long-Term Storage of Fresh Red Pepper)

  • 생 홍고추를 열수, 오존수, 과산화수소와 차아염소산나트륨으로 살균 처리하여 적정 살균조건을 선정하고 선정된 조건에서 살균한 홍고추를 $-70^{\circ}C$로 냉동하여 $-30^{\circ}C$에서 30일 동안 저장한 후 품질변화를 측정하였다. $95^{\circ}C$에서 4분간 열수 처리하였을 때 E. coli와 coliform이 음성을 나타내었으며, 오존수 처리는 0.5 ppm에서 6분간 살균 처리하였을 때, 과산화수소는 2% 용액으로 12분간 살균처리로 음성을 나타냈다. 차아염소산나트륨 처리는 3% 용액으로 4분간 처리하였을 때 음성을 나타내었다. 선정된 각 최적조건에서 살균 처리하여 냉동저장 후 품질변화를 측정한 결과, 드립발생은 열수처리 시료가 15%로 가장 높았다. Ascorbic acid 함량은 오존수 처리 시료를 제외한 다른 처리구들은 대조구의 40%에도 미치지 못하는 함량을 나타내었으며, carotenoids 함량은 오존수 처리 시료가 124.16-182.87 mg%로 가장 적은 손실을 보였다. 관능검사 결과 오존수 처리 시료를 제외한 다른 처리구들은 내피의 탈색이 심하게 일어나고, 특히 열수처리의 경우 살균 처리에 의해 과육이 물러져서 외관이 심하게 손상되어 대조구와 유의적 차이를 나타내었다(p < 0.05). 따라서 시험한 살균방법 중에서 오존수처리가 가장 우수한 품질의 살균 생 홍고추를 생산하는데 적합한 방법으로 평가되었다.

오존수로 재배한 콩나물의 저장 중 품질변화 (Changes in Quality of Soybean Sprouts Grown by Ozone Water Treatment during Storage)

  • 오존수 처리콩나물의 저장 중 품질변화를 조사하였다. 콩나물 재배 중 오존수 처리는 콩의 수침시와 주수시에 물을 사용한 것(W/W), 수침 시만 오존수를 처리한 것 (O/M), 주수 시에만 오존수를 처리한 것 (W/O), 수침시와 주수시에 각각 처리한 것(O/O)으로 나누어 각각 5일간 재배하였다. 저장은 콩나물을 0.01 mm polyethylene film 에 포장하여 1$0^{\circ}C$와 2$0^{\circ}C$에서 저장하였다. 저장수명은 오존수 처리와 무처리간의 뚜렷한 차이를 보이지 않았으며 1$0^{\circ}C$에서는 4일, 2$0^{\circ}C$에서는 2일이였다. 총 균수는 1$0^{\circ}C$에서 저장한 경우는 오존수 처리구에서 낮은 경향을 보였으나 2$0^{\circ}C$의 경우는 오존수 처리구에서 오히려 증식율비 놓았다. 저장중 수분, vitamin C 및 chlorophyll 함량은 뚜렷한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 콩나물의 경도는 O/W 및 W/O 처리구에서 대조구 보다 높은 값을 나타내었다. 관능검사의 의하여 평가된 색상, 냄새 및 종합적인 기호도는 O/W에서 가장 양호하였다.

벤진의 유해 위험성과 작업환경 노출기준 연구 (A Study on the Hazardousness and the TLV in Working Environments of Benzine)

  • Of many volatile organic detergents for metals, benzine(CAS No. 8030-30-6), of which the toxicity has not yet been proven, has been used as an alternative of the halide compounds in the consideration of toxic effects, global warming and the destruction of ozone layer. In order to evaluate the effects of the benzine on human body by investigating the subchronic inhalation toxicity, to obtain the basic data for establishing the criteria of exposure in working environments and to classify the hazardousness in compliance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act by evaluating the hazardousness, repeated inhalation exposure test was carried with SD rats. The rats were grouped by 10 females and males each. The repetitive inhalation exposures were carried out at 4 levels of concentration of 0 ppm, 60 ppm, 300 ppm, and 1,500 ppm, for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 13 weeks. The results are described hereunder. 1. No death of the animals of the exposed and controlled groups in the test period. Not any specific clinical symptoms, change in feed intake quantity, abnormality in eye test, or change in activity were observed. 2. In the 300 ppm and 1,500 ppm groups, weight reduction in the female groups and weight increase of liver and kidney in the male groups compared with control group were observed with statistical significance(p<0.05). 3. In the blood test, the HCT increased in the male 300 ppm group and the number of hematocyte increased, MCV and MCH decreased in the male 1,500 ppm group. In the female 1,500 ppm group, the HB decreased and the distribution width of the hematocyte particle size increased. In the blood biochemistry test, the TP in the male 1,500 ppm group and the LDH in the female 1,500 ppm group were increased with statistical significance(p<0.05). 4. Under the test conditions of the present study with SD rats, the NOEL was evaluated to be from 60 ppm to 300 ppm for both male and female groups. By extrapolation, the NOEL for human who work 8 hours a day was evaluated to be from 128 ppm to 640 ppm 5. Since the NOEL evaluated in this study do not exceed 60ppm(0.184 mg/L) the test material does not belong to the classification of the hazardous substance "NOEL${\leq}$0.5mg/L/6hr/90day(rat), for continuous inhalation of 6hours a day for 90 days" nor to the basic hazardous chemical substance class 1(0.2 mg/L/6hr/90day(rat) defined by the GHS which is a criteria of classification and identification of chemical compounds. However, considering the boiling point($30-204^{\circ}C$), flashing point($-40^{\circ}C$), vapor pressure(40 mmHg), and the inflammable range(1.0 - 6.0 %), sufficient care should be taken for handling in the safety aspects including fire or explosion.

Reduction of Microflora in the Manufacture of Saengshik by Hygienic Processing

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of hygienic processing (HP) on the reduction of microorganisms during manufacturing of saengshik with two vegetables (carrots and cabbage) and two grains (barely and glutinous rice) compared to general processing (GP). For GP, distilled water was used for washing raw materials and equipment. For HP, aqueous ozone (3 ppm) in combination with 1% citric acid and 70% alcohol were used for washing raw materials and the equipment, respectively. In carrots, after cutting, total aerobic bacteria (TAB), yeast and mold (YM) and coliforms were significantly increased to 5.19, 8.04 and 2.08 ($log_{10}$ CFU/g), respectively (p<0.05). Washing effectively reduced the increased microorganisms from cross contamination during cutting, but cross contamination increased with subsequent GP drying and milling procedures to 8.56, 8.27 and 3.71 ($log_{10}$ CFU/g) for TAB, YM and coliforms, respectively (p<0.05). On the other hand, HP washing of carrots with 3 ppm ozone in combination with 1% citric acid showed higher antimicrobial effect than GP washing, significantly decreasing the number of microorganisms (p<0.05). Further cross contamination did not occur through drying and milling due to cleaning the equipments with 70% alcohol prior to processing. After milling, the number of TAB, YM and coliforms were significantly decreased to 3.89, 4.47 and not detectable level ($log_{10}$ CFU/g), respectively (p<0.05). Similar results were observed in cabbage and grains. During storage for two months at different temperatures (22 or $4^{\circ}C$), there were no changes in numbers of spoilage microorganisms in the packaged saengsik after either processing. This suggests the importance of HP for the reduction of microorganisms during saengsik production, and demonstrates the effectiveness of disinfection at each processing stage in minimizing contamination levels to enhance microbial safety of saengshik products.
