Cytologic features of the fine needle aspiration of metastatic epithelioid sarcoma are presented. The patient was a 48 year-old male who had been sufferring from recurrent and metastatic tumors of the right upper extremity for 6 years. The aspirate from the axillary mass cytologically consisted of isolated large polygonal cells with abundant, cyanophilic, slightly granular cytoplasm. Eccentrically located large round nuclei showed finely dispersed chromatin, small nucleoli, occasional convolution and folding of nuclear membrane, and frequent binucleation. Although both histologic and cytologic similarity of epithelioid sarcoma to squamous cell carcinoma is well known, findings of cyanophilic granular cytoplasm, convoluted nuclei, and binucleation appeared to be the differential points.

Purpose: Early detection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae is important for appropriate antimicrobial therapy in children with pneumonia. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of a rapid antigen test kit in detecting M. pneumoniae from respiratory specimens in children with lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI). Methods: A total of 215 nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPAs) were selected from a pool of NPAs that had been obtained from children admitted for LRTI from August 2010 to August 2018. The specimens had been tested for M. pneumoniae by culture and stored at $-70^{\circ}C$ until use. Tests with Ribotest $Mycoplasma^{(R)}$ were performed and interpreted independently by two investigators who were blinded to the culture results. Results: Among the 215 NPAs, 119 were culture positive for M. pneumoniae and 96 were culture negative. Of the culture-positive specimens, 74 (62.2%) were positive for M. pneumoniae by Ribotest $Mycoplasma^{(R)}$, and 92 of the 96 (95.8%) culture-negative specimens were negative for M. pneumoniae by Ribotest $Mycoplasma^{(R)}$. When culture was used as the standard test, the sensitivity and specificity of Ribotest $Mycoplasma^{(R)}$ were 62.2% and 95.8%, respectively. Additionally, the positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and overall agreement rates with Ribotest $Mycoplasma^{(R)}$ were 94.9%, 67.2%, and 77.2%, respectively. Conclusions: A positive test result of Ribotest $Mycoplasma^{(R)}$ suggests a high likelihood of culture-positive M. pneumoniae infection. However, a negative test result should be interpreted with caution because nearly one-third of negative test results reveal culture-positive M. pneumoniae infections.

As the number of foreigners who stay for a long time increases, their residential concentrations have emerged and developed. This research aims at investigating how and why immigrants' residential concentration sustains and develops. In order to understand the roles of the residential concentration for the immigrants' everyday, we used the framework of grunddaseins funktionen including residence, labor, shopping, education, leisure, commuting, and community activity. Accompanied is a case study of Daelim-dong which is the largest Chinese concentrations. The result shows that combined with co-ethnic preference in residence, various amenities at the concentrations attract new immigrants and hold existing immigrants, allowing the concentrations sustain and develop. It has been pointed out that there are the difference factors that foreign immigrants concentrate residentially: 'co-ethnic residential preference' for immigrants from more developed countries and 'discrimination' for immigrants from less developed countries. However this study shows that the residential concentrations for less-developed-country-immigrants could maintain and develop with grunddaseins funktionen based on co-ethnicity.
6-Alkyl-3-chromonealdehyde (2,2-dialkyl)hydrazone derivatives were synthesized by dehydration condensation. They are green-emitting materials for organic light emitting device (OLED) composed of electron acceptor of 6-alkyl-3-chromonealdehydes and electron donor of 2,2-dialkylhydrazones in a conjugated structure. The structural properties of reaction products were analyzed by FT-IR and $^1H$-NMR spectroscopy. The thermal stabilities and reactivities were measured by melting points and yields. The UV-visibles and PL properties were also determined by excitation spectra and emission spectra, respectively.
A number of studies have shown the value of fine needle aspiration cytology for the diagnosis of breast lesions, but reports on the comparison of cytologic and histologic variations of breast cancers are few. We reviewed histologically proven 106 breast aspirates with an emphasis on the cytology of ductal carcinomas and of an area of uncertain atypia. Positive and negative predictive values of breast aspiration cytology were 100% On review of the cases originally diagnosed as atypia of uncertain nature (19 %), features more suggestive of malignancy or benignancy were recognizable in most underdiagnosed cases and a half of overdiagnosed cases, respectively. However, indistinguishable atypism also remained. Thirty seven cases out of 53 infiltrating duct carcinomas revealed malignant cytology, with variations in background, cellularity, morphology of cell groups, and extent of isolated tumor cells. When classifying the infiltrating duct carcinomas into scirrhous, solid-tubular, and papillotubular types, scirrhous type frequently appeared as irregularly shaped tight or loose cell clusters, and solid-tubular type as round-margined cell balls.

Leiomyosarcoma of the soft tissue is a well-defined and characteristic entity histologically, but cytomorphological studes are lacking. A correlaive cytological study of 2 cases of leiomyosarcoma is presented. The smears from case 1 were rich in tumor cells and most cells were arranged in large sheets or clusters. The cells showed round to oval nuclei containing fine chromatin and small promiment nucleoli. The smears from case 2 were moderate in cellularity with loose clusters or isolated cells. The characteristic blunt-ended and cigar-shaped nuclei containing coarse chromatin and prominent nucleoli were identified in case 2. Nuclear atypia, prominent nucleoli and high cellularity permit diagnosis of malignancy, although the atypia is generally less pronounced than in the histology. The cytological diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma may be auxiliary in the diagnosis of recurrence or metastasis in the patients with alleged leiomyosarcoma.

The ultrasound can be used primarily to guide exact needle placement for aspirations of fluids, injections of steroid, and biopsies in musculoskeletal field. Recently, ultrasound-guided intervention is widely used because of several advantages such as real-time performance, relatively inexpensiveness, and getting multiple images without additional radiations. However, the modality is operator dependent and requires detailed knowledge of the relevant anatomy and there have been also reported serious complications related to the procedure. So, authors will discuss about the basic techniques, principles and cautions for the use of ultrasound-guided intervention in musculoskeletal field.

The accuracy of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) for the diagnosis of follicular lymphoma was investigated by a review of 13 FNAC specimens from 10 patients. All patients Included in this study were confirmed by surgical biopsy preceded by FNAC. Three aspirates were unsatisfactory because of scanty cellularity. Among the remaining 10 cases, 5(50%) were diagnosed as lymphoma, 3(30%) as reactive hyperplasia, one (10%) as metastatic small cell carcinoma, and one (10%) as granulomatous inflammation. Cytologic distinction between follicular lymphoma and reactive hyperplasia is very difficult with cytomorphology alone. Compared to reactive hyperplasia, the characteristic cytologic features such as relatively homogeneous cellular constituent, paucity of tingible body macrophages and lymphohistiocytic aggregates, and less mitotic activity in follicular lymphoma are important findings to prevent false negative diagnosis. In addition, lymphoglandular bodies are useful in distinguishing malignant epithelial tumor from lymphoid lesion.
So-called sclerosing hemangioma of the lung is a rare benign neoplasm which usually presents with a coin lesion detected through routine chest X-ray. We report two cases showing characteristic cytologic appearances which have been rarely reported. Both cases were young females with coin lesions in the lung. Fine needle aspiration of each case revealed unique but some different cytologic features. Case 1 showed bland-looking polygonal epithelial cells resembling bronchioloalveolar cells haying predominantly papillary configurations with loosely arranged solid sheets or isolated cells. Cytoplasms were plump, cyanophilic, and finely granular, with eccentric nuclei. The nuclei were usually monotonous, round-to-ovoid, and vesicular with a small but conspicuous nucleolus. In comparison to case 1, case 2 revealed largely loose pavement-like solid sheets or clusters rather than papillary patterns in the hemorrhagic background. The size of tumor cells were a little smaller than that of case 1. Bronchioloalveolar carcinoma and papillary adenocarcinoma of metastatic origin were considered to be one of the important differential diagnoses with these cytologic features. Histologically, both cases exhibited findings compatible with so-called sclerosing hemangioma of the lung.
