원전 사용후연료 저장 및 공론화

  • 한국수력원자력(주)는 20기의 원자력발전소를 운영하고 있으며, 원전에서 발생되는 전기로 우리나라 총전력의 약 40%를 담당하고 있는데 이 과정에서 필연적으로 사용후연료가 발생하게 된다. 사용후연료는 재활용 여부에 따라 자원 또는 폐기물로 간주되는 성격을 지니고 있다. 그러나 우리나라는 사용후연료에 대해서는 아직 확실한 방침이 정해지지 않아 이의 저장 시설이 필요하며 현재 원자력발전소 내 사용후연료 저장조와 건식 저장 시설에 임시 저장하고 있다. 사용후연료는 2006년 말 기준으로 8,670톤이 저장되어 있고, 발전소 내에 설치된 기존 시설의 저장 능력이 포화되는 것에 대비하여 조밀 저장대 설치, 호기 간 이송, 공동 저장, 습식 저장 시설 확장 및 건식 저장 시설 추가 건설을 통해 단계적으로 저장 능력을 확장하여 2016년까지 발생되는 사용후연료를 저장할 계획이다. 그러나 제253차 원자력위원회(2004. 12. 17)에서 2016년 이후 사용후연료 관리 방침에 대해서는 중간 저장 시설의 건설 등을 포함하여 충분한 논의를 거쳐 국민적 공감대하에서 추진하기로 결정됨에 따라 현재 공론화 방안 연구와 대내외적인 공론화가 진행되고 있다.

Perception of Internet Cyber Community Participants on Reconciliation of Divorced Couple (이혼 후 재결합에 대한 인터넷 사이버공동체 참여자들의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the perception of cyber community participants on reconciliation of divorced couple and find reasons for pros and cons concerning reconciliation after divorce. The data were collected through searching for website or Internet cafe related to 'reconciliation after divorce' on Internet. The contents of 7 cases for asking for advice on reuniting and opinions of cyber community participants on them were analyzed. Cyber community participants expressed their approval of divorced couple's reuniting for following reasons: 'strong motive for reunion', 'sexual relation with ex-partner', 'parental responsibility', 'regarding reconciliation as a better choice than remarriage', 'regarding as a good choice for child' etc. But cyber community members were opposed to divorced couple's reuniting for following reasons: 'doubt about real intention to reuniting', 'no self-reflection on previous marriage and ex-spouse', 'concern for recurrence of former marital conflict', 'reuniting only for child not for couple', 'no prior settlement of former marital conflict', 'no forgiveness and tolerance for ex-spouse', 'no reflection and change', 'no effort on ex-spouse's side' etc. Though these results were restrictive, this study identified issues surrounding reconciliation after divorce through asking and giving advices by anonymous members on cyberspace. These findings implied that we should take more interest in reconciliation as an realistic alternative marriage pattern after divorce and consider what is important to successful reuniting after divorce.

Clinical Observation on Effects and Adverse Effects of Choweseuncheng-tang on Obesity Patients (비만 환자에 대한 조위승청탕의 효과 및 부작용에 관한 임상적 고찰)

  • Objective : This study was designed to investigate the effects and adverse effects of Choweseuncheng-tang on obesity patients Methods : Choweseuncheng-tang was given to 20 obesity patients who have no abnormality of GOT, GPT and past medical history. Additionally, electroacupuncture was performed on Fuchao(腑巢) with 60Hz. We compared body weight, body fat and laboratoy test(GOT, GPT, BUN, Creatinine) between before and after treatment. Blood pressure, heart rate and clinical symptoms were checked to investigate the side effects. Decrease of body weight was checked in accordance with Sasang constitutional type, appetite type, and BMI. Results : 6 patients(BMI 23-24.9), 10 patiets(BMI 25-29.9), and 4 patients(BMI over 30) were showed decrease of body weight. We found body fat was decerased $3.16{\pm}1.25%$. BUN, Creatinine, GOT and GPT were increased within normal range. There were adverse event of autonomic hyperactivity(11 patients), gastrointestinal symptoms(7 patients) and others(3 patients). Conclusions : According to above results, Choweseuncheng-tang could be used effectively, but should be taken cautiously on obese patients.

Effects of the Proliferation of Beneficial and Harmful Enteric Bacteria after Intake of Soybean Fermentation (Zen) Produced by a Mixture of Lactobacilli and Saccharomyces (Lactobacilli와 Saccharomyces 혼합균주의 대두발효액(Zen) 섭취 후 장내 유익세균과 유해세균의 증식에 미친 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the increase or decrease of important intestinal beneficial bacteria and inhibitory bacteria in 30 stools of clinical subjects after ingesting Zen fermentation broth as a mixed microbial fermentation solution for eight weeks. Methods: Intestinal bacteria were identified by PCR amplification using specific primers. Results: Bifidobacterium genus gi% of test group ingested Zen-fermented broth was 55.15% before and 70.1% after ingestion, so it was a significant difference (p<.009). Lactobacillus genus of the test group was 46.87% before and 60.91% after ingestion, it was a significant difference (p<.01). Clostridium genus of the test group was 85.64% before and 65.99% after ingestion. There was a significant difference (p<.017) as the pre-post-difference decreased to -19.65%. Bacteroides genus of the test group was 17.11% before and 20.22% after ingestion. There was a significant difference (p<.048) as the pre-post-difference increased to 3.11%. Prevotella genus of the test group was 14.01% before and 16.79% after ingestion, so it was not a significant difference. Conclusions: Intestinal bacteria increased the proliferation of beneficial bacteria and suppressed harmful bacteria in the intestines after ingesting the Zen-fermented broth of the mixed microorganism. The Zen fermentation broth evaluated as a beneficial drink for intestinal health.

Effect of 15% Hydrogen Peroxide on Color Change and Microhardness of Bovine Teeth according to the Time (15% Hydrogen Peroxide 전문가용 치아미백 후 시간경과에 따른 색상변화와 미세경도의 변화)

  • This study evaluated the change of color and the microhardness according to time-out using the office bleaching with in vitro test after bleaching one time 1 day per week, total three times, for the control group and three times per 1day for the experimental group. $L^*$ was increased in both groups. Group 1 showed a significant increase statistically between before and after tooth whitening (p<0.05). Group 2 showed a significant increase statistically between before and after tooth whitening (p<0.05). ${\Delta}E^*$ was huge in both groups. In group 1, it was great in terms of statistical significance between 1 day and 7 days after tooth whitening (p<0.05). In group 2, it was the greatest between before and 1 day after tooth whitening and was significant statistically as well (p<0.05). Vickers hardness number (VHN) decreased in both groups. In group 1, VHN decreased over time and the difference was significant statistically (p<0.05). In group 2, VHN decreased over time and the difference was significant statistically (p<0.05). Percentage microhardness loss was great in both groups. In group 1, it was the greatest between 1 day and 7 days after the treatment, and it was significant statistically (p<0.05). In group 2, it was the greatest between before and 1 day after the treatment, and it was significant statistically (p<0.05). Put together, the more frequent tooth whitening a day is, the longer the period of tooth whitening when applying the same frequency, the greater color change was, however the microhardness decreased, in regard to the results over time using 15% hydrogen peroxide tooth whitening product for professionals.

EFFECT OF LASER IRRADIATION AND FLUORIDE APPLICATION ON REMINERALIZATION OF ERODED PRIMARY DENIAL ENAMEL (침식된 유치 법랑질에 대한 레이저 조사 및 불소도포의 재광화 효과)

  • The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the remineralizing effects of Nd : YAG laser irradiation and fluorides application on primary tooth enamel eroded by acidic drink. The materials were 30 sound primary teeth with intact smooth enamel surfaces. They were demineralized with Coca-cola at $37^{\circ}C$ for 12 hours and then irradiated by Nd: YAG laser with 6W power, $50mJ/cm^2$ energy density. and 20Hz pulse repetition. After laser irradiation, teeth were treated by three kinds of fluorides : (1) 0.05% NaF solution, (2) 1.23% APF gel and (3) 0.1% fluoride varnish. Diagnodent scores and microhardness (VHN) were measured before and after the each treatment. The results were as follows: 1. Diagnodent scores decreased to 23.51% from the initial after demineralization, and then increased to 37.37% after laser irradiation, and to 51.34% after fluoride treatment. There were significant differences between the total scores of initial, demineralization, laser irradiation and fluoride treatment (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between scores after fluoride treatment according to fluoride types. 2. Microhardness(VHN) decreased to 33.58% from the initial after demineralization and then increased to 43.99% after laser irradiation, and to 51.38% after fluoride treatment. There were significant differences between the total scores of initial, demineralization, laser irradiation and fluoride treatment (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between scores after fluoride treatment according to fluoride types.

Successful Birth after Transfer of Re-frozen Blastocysts Developed from Immature Oocytes Retrieved from a Woman with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (미성숙 난자로부터 체외 성숙한 포배기 배아의 Re-vitrification 후 성공적 임신 1례)

  • 본 연구는 이식 후 남은 잉여의 포배기 배아를 두 번의 냉동과 융해 과정을 반복적으로 실시한 후 이식한 결과에 관한 보고이다. 사람 포배기 배아의 동결보존에서 높은 생존율과 성공적인 임신율이 보고되고 있으나 미성숙 난자로부터 발달한 포배기 배아에 두 번의 초급속 냉동 방법을 실시한 후 이식한 보고는 되어 있지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다낭성 난소 증후군 환자에게서 얻은 미성숙 난자로부터 발달한 포배기 배아를 artificial shrinkage 후 초급속 냉동함으로써 생존율을 높이는 방법을 이용하여 재냉동 이식하였을 때 임신에 성공한 증례를 보고하고자 한다. 29세의 환자로부터 채취한 55개의 미성숙 난자들(germinal vesicle stage oocytes)을 체외배양 하여 성숙한 37개의 난자들로부터 30개의 수정란을 얻을 수 있었다. 12개의 배아가 포배기 배아까지 발달하였으며 이 중 3개의 양질의 포배기 배아를 선별하여 이식하였고, 이식을 한 후에 남은 9개의 포배기 배아들은 artificial shrinkage의 과정을 마친 후에 초급속 냉동 방법을 이용하여 동결보존 하였다. 그 중, 4개의 포배기 배아들을 융해한 후 이식을 하지 않고 다시 재냉동을 하여 보관하였고 이 후 재냉동 되었던 4개의 포배기 배아들을 다시 융해 하여 이식을 한 결과 임신이 되어 건강한 남아를 분만하였다. 이로써 미성숙 난자로부터 얻은 포배기 배아가 두 번의 냉동과 융해의 과정을 통해 크게 손상을 입지 않고 생존할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 융해이식 후 남은 잉여의 포배기 배아를 다시 냉동 보관하여 다음 주기에 이용함으로써 축적된 임신율을 증가시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
