Analysis of the relationship among water-efficiency in the non-agricultural sector, economic growth, electricity generation, and CO2 emission - evidence from Korea - (우리나라에서 비농업 부문의 물 효율성, 경제성장, 전력생산 및 CO2배출 간의 관계 분석)

  • We have examined dynamic relationships among water-efficiency, economic growth, electricity generation, and $CO_2$ emissions in Korea using various time-series analysis methods for 1990-2014. While previous studies have been limited to economic growth, $CO_2$ emissions, and electricity generation, this study contributed to explain the relationship between existing variables and water-efficiency. We find that the four variables reach a balanced state in the long run through short-term adjustment, $CO_2$ emissions and economic growth are responsible for water efficiency, and that $CO_2$ emissions, economic growth and water efficiency are the causes of electricity generation. The long-term impact coefficient estimates on water-efficiency show that the increase in electricity generation and the decrease in $CO_2$ emissions increase water-efficiency. Although economic growth has increased water-efficiency, moreover, we have identified an inverted U-shaped relationship between economic growth and water-efficiency, which suggests that economic growth above a certain level reduces the rate of increase in water-efficiency.

  • In Korea, which achieved economic growth due to export industries, the economic importance of the foreign port transportation industry is very great. The government took the initiative in fostering the foreign port transportation industry, and as a result, it developed into one of the top 10 foreign port transport countries in the world. However, due to the poor management of the small and medium-sized foreign port transport business and the trade dispute between countries, the foreign port transportation industry has faced a long-term invasion. Therefore, in order for these companies to recover again, they will, among other things, have to reorganize their operational inefficiency to carry out efficient production activities. In this study, we want to analyze the management efficiency of the top 10% companies in the unlisted domestic outbound shipping industry, present the project value of inefficient enterprises, and confirm the reference collection of companies that may be subject to benchmarking. For this purpose, a total of 10 foreign port transportation industry were analysed for efficiency and scale profitability (RTS) of the CCR and BCC models. The analysis showed that there were a total of six entities with BCC efficiency and five entities with CCR efficiency. In addition, there were a total of five entities with both BCC and CCR efficiency.

  • This paper aims at measuring the changes of Malmquist productivity and technical efficiency of Korean shipbuilding Industry and examinig their determinants utilizing the panel analysis. The increase of the technological progress was greater than technical efficiency, resulting in the increase of the total factor productivity for the period of 2004-2010. This study also employs the panel technique to analyse the effects of Employee, Dock, and Length on the changes of Malmquist productivity and technical efficiency. The dependent variables are obtained from three combinations, which are (Employee, Dock, and CGT), (Employee, Length, and CGT), and (Dock, and Length, and CGT). The empirical results show that all of the explanatory variables have a positive effect on the change of Malmquist productivity and technical efficiency.

A Study on the Effectiveness Verification of Hydrological Cycle of Pervious Pavement using LID Simulator (LID 효율성 검증기기를 이용한 투수성 블록의 수문순환 효율성 검증에 관한 연구)

  • In recent, the impacts of urbanization on hydrology and water quality can be minimized with the use of Low Impact Development (LID) practices in urban areas. But, there are no ways to verify or to show the quantitative effectiveness with LID practices. This study designed and developed to perform experiments in natural or artificial representation of hydrological cycle, which is called rainfall-runoff simulator to be able to quantify factors in hydrological system. This simulator was applied to a pervious pavement block. The study conducted analysis of effectiveness for a pervious pavement block by comparing the results with a general pavement block. The result from the pervious pavement block showed remarkably reduction effect on surface runoff with increase of rainfall intensity and more duration time. Also, the simulator was possible to control no surface runoff by a rainfall intensity at 50 mm/hr for an hour. The research indicated possibility and effectiveness for LID practices. This might be widely available to apply to LID practices verification. Therefore, the study is possible to make use of practical standards on fundamental studies.

  • 2014년 국토교통부 예산이 전년대비(22조원, 추경포함) 5% 감소한 20.9조원으로 국회 본회의를 통과하였다. 경기활성화 및 일자리 창출을 감안하여 SOC투자 규모가 크게 줄어들지는 않았지만, 향후 복지지출 등의 수요증가로 SOC투자여건은 계속 어려워질 전망이다. 이러한 가운데 편안하고 접근성이 좋은 SOC에 대한 국민들의 기대수준은 더욱 높아지고 있어 국토교통부는 올해 SOC투자 효율성을 제고하는데 초점을 둔다는 방침이다. 즉 도로, 철도 등 주요 SOC사업의 투자 패러다임의 효율성을 높이고, 국민들의 체감효과도 높이는 방향으로 전환해 나갈 계획이다.

  • EJB는 컴포넌트 기반 개발(CBD)을 지원하는 컴포넌트 모델중의 하나이며 최근 특어 EJB를 이용한 활발한 어플리케이션이나 시스템 구축이 이루어지고 있다. 최근 증가하고 있는 EJB 컴포넌트들을 효율적으로 재사용 하기 위한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 EJB 컴포넌트 타입 중 엔터티 빈들 간의 조립을 목적으로 Dual Persistent 엔터티 빈 괘턴을 이용한 효율적인 엔터티 빈 조립 방법을 제안하여 기존에 영속성에 대한 종속성이 강해 재사용이 쉽지 않던 BMP 엔터티 빈을 영속성이 독립적인 CMP 엔터티 빈으로 변환해 재사용 향상된 조립을 한다.

  • UDP를 이용하는 멀티캐스트에 있어서 에러 복구는 서비스의 신뢰성을 위해 반드시 필요한 알고리즘이다. 본 논문에서는 기존 라우터 기반의 에러 복구(Router-Assisted Schemes)알고리즘을 이용해서 라우터에 의한 에러 복구의 효율성이 증가하도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 USC/ISI에서 개발한 네트워크 시뮬레이터인 NS-2를 이용하여 에러 복구 기능을 구현하였다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통해 라우터에 멀티캐스트 에러 복구 방식이 적용되었을 경우, 기존의 에러 복구 방식의 효율성 향상이 가능함을 보이려 한다.

  • On intranet system, it is essential element for providing information to decrease response time. To realize this efficiencies of response time of the network, a lot of research have been conducted. The purpose of the research and implementation is to shorten the response time of information system. We can realize final goal of information system through fast response time. This final goal of information system is to secure the performance efficiency within the required time. In order to acquire the method of warranty of fast response time, the efficient measurement method is essential. This research suggests a latency test techniques being used on infrastructure system and also offers a response time measurement methodology. Methodology proposed in this research has proven that it is possible to measure response time through the scheduled method. Also it is possible to develop a enhanced networking capabilities, and information system capabilities for the development of information system.

A DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) Approach for Evaluating the Efficiency of Exclusive Bus Routes (자료포락분석을 이용한 서울시 간선버스노선 효율성 평가)

  • This study presumes the efficiency of each route by utilizing data of Seoul's exclusive bus routes for the 2008 and the DEA model. In the estimation, it is assumed that the number of passengers and profits of each route is calculated by considering the number of buses and stops, travel distance, intervals and management cost. This study computed the efficiency scores of each bus line in Seoul based on the data for the first half of 2008 and one of the DEA models, namely the BCC model. After analysis using the input-oriented BCC model, out of a total of 18 lines of interest, there were 2 CRS lines and 16 IRS lines. Also, the Tobit Regression Analysis that helps identify the impact of the elements used in the analysis on efficiency scores proved that the most influential element to exclusive buses is the length of intervals.
