  • This paper describes a hybrid multi-output three-level DC/DC converter suitable for a wide, high-input voltage range of an auxiliary power supply for a high-power photovoltaic generating system. In a high-power photovoltaic generating system, the solar panel output voltage depends on solar radiation quantity and varies from 450Vdc to 1100Vdc. The proposed hybrid multi-output three-level DC/DC converter, which is an auxiliary power supply, would be used as power source for control printed circuit boards and relay and cooling fans in a high-power photovoltaic generating system. The proposed multi-output ($24V_{DC}/30A$, $230V_{DC}/5A$) hybrid three-level boost converter, which uses an energy recovery snubber, is controlled by variable-frequency and phase-shifted modulations and can achieve zero-voltage switching with all operating conditions of input voltage and load range. Experimental results of a 2kW prototype are evaluated and implemented to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

  • Regenerative energy which is generated during brake periods of DC traction might cause malfunction or destruction of rectifier or any other power conversion devices caused the increment of DC line voltage. Regenerative energy storage system using super-capacitor is one of the method to control the DC line voltage safely. And super-capacitor is very important device as energy storage device. Therefore, In this paper, we designed the regenerative energy storage system using super-capacitor and propose the method about predicting the lifetime of super-capacitor established in storage system. According to the this research, we can estimate the proper replacement moment for the existed super-capacitor due to the safety of the system. And improve the reliability of regenerative energy storage system using super-capacitor.

  • 본 논문에서는 공진 에너지 회생율을 최대화하여 전체적인 효율을 증가시킨 개선된 전파형 ZVT(Zero-Voltage-Transition) PWM(Pulse-Width-Modulation) DC-DC 컨버터를 소개한다. 개선된 회로는 단지 기존 컨버터의 보조스위치와 공진형 인덕터 사이에 직렬로 역공진 저지 다이오드를 추가로 달아서 모든 스위칭 소자들이 소프트 스위칭 조건에서 턴온/턴오프하여 스위칭 손실을 최소화하고, 공진 에너지를 완전히 입력으로 회귀시켜 전도손실을 절감하여 효율의 증감을 이루었다. 본 논문에서는 부스터 컨버터를 이용하여 개선된 컨버터의 동작을 분석하고, 실험결과를 바탕으로 제안된 회로의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • In this paper, 15[kW] AC regenerative system for battery charging and discharging test is proposed. The regenerative system is able to regenerate surplus energy to the grid in discharging mode, and the inverter of the system can be operated as a converter to compensate scarce energy in charging mode. In case of the conventional DC charging and discharging system, the regenerative energy is consumed by a resistor. However, as the proposed system regenerates the surplus energy to the grid through using DC-AC inverter, the energy saving effect can be achieved. In this paper, 15[kW] battery charging and discharging system is developed, and the validity of the system is verified through simulation and experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 직렬형 하이브리드 자동차의 운전특성을 분석하기 위한 PSIM 시뮬레이터의 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 직렬형 하이브리드 자동차는 엔진이 전동기와 전기적으로 결합되어 있으며 전동기의 출력에 의해서만 구동된다. 엔진/발전기, 전동기, 기어와 같은 파워트레인 각 구성요소들의 정격은 에너지 개념을 이용한 시스템과 Electrical Peaking Hybrid (ELPH)를 이용하여 모델링할 수 있는데, 설계된 하이브리드 자동차를 개발된 PSIM 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 특정 운전주기 하에서 평가하고 분석하였다. 기계적 제동이 사용되는 경우와 회생제동이 사용되는 경우 각각에 대하여 전동기의 평균 입력을 비교하였으며 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 직렬형 하이브리드 자동차의 연비를 분석하였다.

  • In this paper, a single-sourced PV PCS using the trinary asymmetric MLI with a single-ended pre-regulator is proposed. Trinary based asymmetric CHB inverters provide higher output levels for the same number of cells compared to other CHB inverters. However, there is an issue of regeneration with trinary asymmetric inverters and this complicates the system with requirement of bi-directional converters at the input. Modified commutation strategies have been used to remove the regeneration issue with compromise in THD. The single-ended pre-regulator provides the isolated dc-link voltage for the individual H-bridge cells with the advantage of having a single switch and magnetic component. This implementation increases the magnetic utilization of the inductor core and reduces the switching loss in the pre-regulator and also the reduced parts count contributes to the cost competiveness of the proposed PCS. The proposed PV PCS has been verified using simulation results in this paper.

  • In DC 1500V electric traction substations, diode rectifiers are commonly used to supply stable DC power with electric train sets. However, it operates in the first quadrant of the voltage-current plane and thus needs regenerative inverters which transfer the surplus regenerative power caused by regenerative braking of electric train sets into the grid. In order to select the proper capacity and installation position of regenerative inverter, it needs to investigate the consumed and regenerative energy of the electric traction substations in advance. This paper presents an analysis of regenerative energy in two substations operating in Seoul line 2 and Kwangju line 1. DC line voltage and feeder currents are measured for a day to calculate consumed and regenerative power for four feeders. We calculated an amount of regenerative energy consumed in other feeders and estimated the cost reduction in energy consumption due to the reuse of regenerative energy.

  • 최근 철도차량의 고속화와 전력회생을 하는 전기차로 인하여 부하전류와 고장전류 간의 큰 차이가 없으므로 이를 구분할 수 있는 고성능 보호시스템의 중요성이 날로 증대되고 있다. 본 논문은 실계통에서의 전차선로 임피던스를 이용하여 AT급전시스템을 모델링하였으며 변전소와 보조급전구분소사이 단락사고의 과도특성을 분석하였다.

  • In DC electric railway systems, the feeding currrnt is not permitted to flow backward in almost all the substations and the pantograph voltages at the regenerating cars rise extremely by the voltage drop of the resistance of the feeder line. In order to prevent the overrise of the pantograph voltage in power regenerating cars, the squeezing circuits for the regenerative current are equipped and this leads to double losses, which are an extra worn-out of the brake-shoes and an ineffective use of regenerative power. In this study, the insertion of resistors in the feeder line system is proposed as a possible method for the effective utilization of the regenerative power in the electric railways. Also it is investigated how the output voltages of substations affect the effective use of regenertive capability. The investigation results show that the energy savings and the reduction of the worn-out of the brake-shoe can be achieved at the same time by the insertion of resistors in the feeder line system.

  • This paper based on spiral vector, three phase induction motor is described a detailed modeling by a phase segment methode. Based on this model, A torque control and the equation of regenerative power for the induction motor drive, based on the field acceleration method(FAM), is presented. The speed control system is designed to be applied voltage source inverters that is easy the current type feedback of power regeneration for motor drive. The ability of shaving power to be measured power regeneration has been investigated in speed acceleration and reduction. And it is change of stator resistance that the voltage commands include error, the ripple of exited voltage and torque occur from the results. The experimental tests verify the performance of the proposed regenerative drive for FAM, proving that good behavior of the drive is achieved in the transient and steady-state operating conditions.
