Adiabatic property of plywood wall panel was examined to evaluate their thermal conductivities. The amount of heat loss was investigated through overall heat transmission experiment. Styroform and grass wool showed less heat loss. However, yellowsoil board and laminated lumber showed high volume specific heat capacity. When the changes of indoor and outdoor temperature were checked in model house, wall manufactured with styroform and grass wool was affected easily by the changes of outdoor temperature. Yellowsoil, the mixed board of yellowsoil and sawdust, and laminated lumber, which have high volume specific heat capacity, were not affected much. The rates of overall heat transmission were much better in styroform and grasswool, but the adiabatic properties were much higher in yellowsoil board and the mixed board of yellowsoil and sawdust. The results showed that the insulating material can be developed using yellowsoil and wood, which are nature friendly materials.
Korean traditional houses have been developed in harmony with natural environment and comfortable indoor condition by using the natural resources including building layout, space composition and materials. Originally Korea traditional architectures have used wood lintel constructions and loess walls through the many years. Theses loess have many strength such as highly heat capacity, controling of humidity, a deodorant than any other materials. Nowaday it is recommended to use exterior and interior walls in loess wall to meet the eco-friendly materials to improve our residental environmental. Thus this study aims to research the sound insulation performance of traditional loess brick wall varied with thickness, thermal insulation materials and cavity wall. The sound insulation performance of these loess walls are compared with other masonry wall's and sound insulation performance of th walls were tested in anechoic laboratory to measure the sound transmission loss of these walls. The loess brick wall with 75mm thickness of cavity is shown the sound insulation performance with Rw 57 which is nearly same performances of 1B brick wall and cement 8' block wall, The improving effect of insulation materials is shown in the high frequency bandwidth. Especially, there is improving as much as 11 dB using the extruded poly stylene form(75mm) and poly ethylene film(0.7mm).
In this study, the geotechnical applicability of permeable barriers that could filter the leachate from a landfill was evaluated. Specimens were cast from sand, loess and bentonite according to the specific weight ratios of them. A series of experiments are performed to determine the unconfined compressive strength and permeability of various mixing ratio of bentonite, loess, and sand. From the laboratory test, optimum mixing ratio that satisfied the regulations of unconfined compressive strength($5kgf/cm^2$) and coefficient of permeability ($10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-4}cm/sec$) in landfill was found when the weight ratio of sand and loess was 8:2 with 2% of bentonite. Using the laboratory test data and in situ test results, the applicability of the wall will be tested for various conditions.
In this study, 5 mural paintings in the Buddhist temples of Joseon era were researched for component analysis on the soil contained in the walls. The results of particle size analysis showed that the ratio of particle contents were different in each layer. In the finishing layer, the distribution of the middle sand fraction is higher than that of the middle layer. The results of XRD analysis showed that quartz, feldspar, and clay mineral are the main components of sand, suggesting similar mineral composition to that of ordinary soil component. It seems weathered rocks were used for construction of the walls. The main chemical components detected from EDX analysis were Si, Al, Fe, and K. Also the SEM images showed sand or clay sized minerals. In conclusion, the walls of the buddhist mural paintings in Joseon Dynasty had been constructed by using the loess, and had been produced by using mixture of clay and sand particles of different sizes for each layer. This study identified the characteristics of the materials and the manufacturing technologies used on the walls of mural paintings of Buddhist temples in Joseon era.
The purpose of this study is to examine historical wall repair details through analysis of repair data and administrative documents of the Paradise Conservation of Gangjin Muwisa Temple. In addition, the purpose of the project is to examine the differences and commonalities between the materials and construction technology used in the building's walls. The data for repair work conducted in 1935, 1956, and 1982~3 was analyzed and the results of the research were as follows. First, data for the wall construction conducted in 1935 during the dismantling repair showed that the interior structure of the wall was found to follow that of the original, but the first, second, and final layers used different materials. The composition material of the wall consisted of clay, lime and sand, the second layer used sand and plaster, and the last layer used plaster and seaweed paste. Second, the structure of the wall interior, which was found during the 1956 repairs, consisted of wood woven horizontally and vertically. It was confirmed that this had been installed diagonally using a rope. Third, the 1982~3 repair work confirmed that the wall's interior construction conformed to the original method. The lime-sand wall was formed by mixing slacked lime, sand, soil, fodder, and seaweed grass. Fourth, when the various repairs are considered as a whole, it is clear that the interior structure of the wall was made more than 1900 years ago, and the material used in the wall changed in 1935. Fifth, the materials used for each repair differed, but each project had a common view of cultural heritage repair principles in sections that stated the significance of each project.
The manufacturing techniques were studied by investigating a precise analysis on wall structure, features of materials and the painting layer of the bracket mural paintings at Daeungbojeon Hall in Naesosa temple. The wall frame is a single-branch structure, and The mural paintings are composed of 3 layers which are a support layer, a finishing layer and a painting layer. The support layer and the finishing layer are an earth wall that sand and clay such as Quartz, Feldspar, and etc. are mixed. The support and the finishing layers have a combination of medium particle sand and smaller than fine particle sand in the approximate ratios of 0.8:9.2 and 6:4, respectively. Therefore, the aforementioned ratio of sand with medium or large particles is relatively higher in the finishing layer than the support layer. As a result of a precise analysis on the painting layer, it has a relatively thick ground layer for painting which is maximum $456.15{\mu}m$ by using Celadonite or Glauconite and the paintings were colored by using pigments such as Atacamite, Kaolinite or Halloysite, Oxidized steel, and etc. on it. The manufacturing style and the painting techniques of an earth wall are included in the category of the Joseon Dynasty style that have been studied up to now, but the facts that the finishing layer has a high content of sand and a middle layer and chopped straw have not been identified. These are remarkable points in terms of structure and materials, and can be crucial in the evaluation of the state of conservation of mural paintings or preparation of a conservation plan.

On this studyed, the Wibongsa BoGwangMyungJun BaekEuiKwanEum wall-painting was conservation of Scientific research ahead. This study carried out Grain size analysis, SEM-EDS, XRD, P-XRF, FT-IR and ultrasonic exploration for wall-painting. As a result, walls layer used to mineral particles size was mixing the medium-texture and fine texture. painting layers pigments used to base paintings was ocher, white pigments was hobun, red pigments was suckganju, green pigments was suckruk. Also BackuiKannon wall-painting walls damage reason of that was long-term physical shocks. painting layers damage was include detachment or powders. it is affected by temperature and humidity. Therefore in the future conservation of wall-paintings through scientific analysis based on such data, conservation processing is performed through the preservation and enhance the stability of the paintings as a basis for the conservation of management can be utilized.
The lime-soil mixture on tomb barrier (LSMB) is a type of tomb in Joseon Dynasty, which made with so-called 'Sammul' (three material compound) that mixture of lime, fine sand and yellow ocher. This study divided the tombs of the Gungri Site from Joseon Dynasty with layered wall and integrated wall according to the manufacturing types, and investigated on the basis of analysis to material characteristics and making techniques. Analytical samples were classified with lime-soil mixtures and soils, and interpreted the mixing characteristics of Sammul based on types of tomb barrier. The tomb barrier which is directly effect to control the inner environment was made with high content of lime. But the finishing or bottom layer were made with low content of lime. Overall the LSMB with integrated wall has higher content of lime and physical property than the LSMB with layered wall. The soil which was compounded as a Sammul and collected near the Gungri Site had similar with mineralogical and geochemical characteristics. Therefore, it is presumed that the fine sand and yellow ocher that made as a Sammul, were used with soil that was distributed around the site. Meanwhile, large scale limestone quarry is distributed near the site. Especially, Gungri Site has a possibility of material supply through water transport, due to the sea route from Asan bay is connected near the site. Thus, there is the possibility of transportation of lime materials from nearby quarry.
