  • We investigated the morphological differences of the ethnic hairs using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, sampled from African, Asian and Caucasian women. Transverse section of African hair had a highly elliptical type whereas those of Asian and Caucasian hairs had circular and elliptical types, respectively. The diameter of African hair showed wide variations from 90 to 115 ${\mu}m$. The diameter of Asian hair was 100 ${\mu}m$ and Caucasian hair had a lesser diameter of 80 ${\mu}m$ on average. African hair were much more damaged in cuticle layer compared with Asian or Caucasian hairs. In particular, endocuticle of cuticle cell had a lot of holes in it, which resulted that it tends to be easily broken. Phaeomelanin in the cortex of Caucasian hair had a concentrically helical structure in it.

  • The general mutual impedance expression for two staggered parallel, centerfed, linear antennas of unequal length and confirmed that the general expression being applied to a special case, reduced to the equation presented by other. Furthermore, calculation is done for a special cast, and it is confirmed that the general mutual impedance expression is applicable to the calculation of radiative curreut distribution on antenna system given above.

  • Tumoral calcinosis is a disease of unclear etiology which presents with periarticular and intramuscular calcification without the disorder of calcium and phosphorus metabolism. The incidence is very rare but the rate is higher among the blacks than whites. There has been no report on the recurrent occurrence on the asian race. We report a case that recurred several times with tumoral calcinosis of both knee and thigh. A 21-year-old woman visited to our department with masses in both right thigh and knee. She had a history of local excisions and biopsies(4 times at other hospital) and showed prompt recurrences. The complete marginal excision was performed for the treatment. The histological examination showed the findings that are compatible with tumoral calcinosis. There has been a free of recurrence over the past two years.

  • Mandibular first molar and primary molars usually have two roots, on the mesial and distal sides. Occasionally, these molars have an extra root located in the distolingual aspect. Prevalence of the 3-rooted first permanent molar shows ethnic variation, ranging from about 3% in Caucasian to about 20% in Mongoloid group, which includes Chinese, Japanese, Eskimo, American and Canadian Indians. The frequency of the mandibular molar with three roots decreases in the order of the first permanent molar, the second primary molar, and the first primary molar. If the mandibular first or second primary molar has an additional distolingual root, the adjacent molars, including the first permanent molar, posterior to it also may have it. Coronal morphologic change can occur in the mandibular first primary molars with three roots: the crown had more triangular-shape compared to the one with two roots, possibly affected by the presence of additional distolingual root. Clinically, exact diagnosis and treatment should be taken with those teeth for pulp canal treatment, extraction, and SS Cr.

  • This paper study about the Perception of Orient in Huangseong-Shinmun(皇城新聞). The Orient as a Non-Western is recognized as a geographical concept which represented Japanized culture and which breaked up Sinocentrism. Huangseong-Shinmun thought Korea, China, and Japan as the main countries which constitute Orient. And this paper regarded these three countries which is Yellow race are main area which countervail Western. Especially this paper thought Japan as the leading power which fulfilled Oriental peace. So Huangseong-Shinmun theorized nations of the same race, region and language(同種同州同文論). But Orientalism is just means which Japan used to rationalized the imperialistic invasion. Nevertheless Huangseong-Shinmun thought that periods are the era of racial competition. This is the limit Huangseong-Shinmun did'nt recognize the strategy which Japan concealed the imperialistic invasion.
