Utilization of Hyperspectral Image Analysis for Monitoring of Stone Cultural Heritages (석조문화재 모니터링을 위한 하이퍼스펙트럴 이미지분석의 활용)

  • This study was considered utilization of hyperspectral image analysis for monitoring. Accordingly we applied to stone cultural properties to data correction methods, image classification techniques, NDVI computation techniques using hyperspectral image. As the results, hyperspectral image analysis was possible making detailed deterioration map, accurate calculation of deterioration rate, mapping of normalized difference vegetation index on the basis of reflectance of each materials. Therefore, hyperspectral image analysis will be used for effective monitoring techniques of stone cultural heritages.

Analyzing Vegetation Index Change of Damaged Trees by Pine Wilt Disease Using Portable Near Infrared Camera (휴대용 근적외선 카메라를 이용한 소나무 재선충 피해목의 식생지수 변화분석)

  • Pinus densiflora(red pine) stands in Korea have been faced with the serious threat by pine wilt disease caused by Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (nematodes). It is not easy to early detect and prevent the infected trees because those cannot be visually identified during the initial phase of infection. Red pine is usually infected by B. xylophilus from May to July and can be just visually detected in October or November. While the infected trees are wilted, the spectral value of Near Infrared (NIR) is supposed to be decreased. Based on this phenomena, in this paper, the vegetation vitality change of infected trees was analyzed using vegetation indices. Spectral values of Red, Green and NIR had been acquired monthly by a portable NIR camera in the same place of red pine stands infected by pine wilt disease. It could be proven that the vegetation index, or vegetation vitality of damaged trees starts to decrease from June, in the early infecting phase.

  • This study has been conducted to give some ideas for reasonable ecological management of Taejon city and its adjacent forest ecosystem against the effect of acid rain. Rain monitoring points to analyse its components represented 1 point in industrial area, 4 points in commercial area, 4 points in residential area, and 5 points in suburban area and forest survey was done in 7 forest sites adjacent to rain monitoring points. Transformed vegetation index(TVI) based on Landsat TM data was analysed for forest area. Taejon area was seriously contaminated by air pollutants and average concentration of anions in precipitation were 20.16mg/l for $SO_4{^{2-}}$, 3.65mg/l for $NO_3{^-}$, and 3.09mg/l for $Cl^-$. Anion in precipitation were $1.09mg/m^2/month$ for $SO_4{^{2-}}$, $0.23mg/m^2/month$ for $NO_3{^-}$, and $0.20mg/m^2/month$ for $Cl^-$. Cation in precipitation were $0.14mg/m^2/month$ for $Ca^{2+}$, $0.10mg/m^2/month$ for $NH_4{^+}$, $0.08mg/m^2/month$ for $Na^+$, $0.07mg/m^2/month$ for $K^+$, and $0.08mg/m^2/month$ for $Mg^{2+}$. The region with the highest concentration of $SO_4{^{2-}}$, $NO_3{^-}$, and $Cl^-$ in rain was industrial area. $SO_4{^{2-}}$, $NO_3{^-}$, and $Cl^-$ concentrations in industrial area were 43.08, 3.88, and 3.64ppm, respectively. Forest soil showed strongly acidic ranging pH4.16-4.94. Transformed vegetation index(TVI) were 3.11 in Dangsan, 4.00 in Kyechoksan, 4.13 in Bomunsan, 4.18 in Kabhasan, 3.34 in Bongsan, 4.13 in Sikchangsan, and 4.20 in Seongchisan. Dangsan forest located near in industrial area showed the lowest TVI.

  • Purpose: Pain management is often needlessly suboptimal. Health care professionals are seldom trained in pain management, may not realize the importance of pain management or recognize that a patient is in pain, and may fear prescribing opioid medications. Noting that one of the problems related to health care professionals is poor assessment of pain, we studied a trend of pain severity and satisfaction with pain controls after using TTS-fentanyl in order to determine whether a regular pain assessment was effective for controlling cancer pain. Methods: We assessed the pain as a $5^{th}$ vital sign after using TTS-fentanyl in 471 hospitalized cancer patients during 4 days. The data were collected from September, 2003 to December, 2003. Pain severity was assessed by using a numeric pain intensity scale($0{\sim}10$) by ongoing pain assessment. Results: Pain assessment as a $5^{th}$ vital sign had led to reduce patient's pain scores. High degrees of satisfaction scores in both patients and doctors with TTS-fentanyl were observed. They were also negatively correlated with the pain severity. Conclusion: Regular pain assessment was effective in the management of cancer pain.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the change in phytoncide intake in mood state and health-related quality of life menopausal women through an 8-week experiment. For the study, 41 subjects under 2 years after menopause in D and N districts in Seoul were targeted. consisting of three study points: pre-measurement (0week), intermediate (4week), and post-measurement (8week). Was used As a dependent variable of this study, mood status and health-related quality of life were set, and data were collected through three questionnaires: pre-measurement, intermediate measurement, and post-measurement. As for the analysis method, one-way ANOVA and post verification were performed. Derived result First, the phytoncide inhalation group of postmenopausal women showed statistically significant effects of reducing tension, depression, fatigue, chaos, and increasing vitality among the sub-factors of mood status compared to the control group. Second, the phytoncide inhalation group of postmenopausal women showed statistically significant increase in competence, mental well-being, stability, and vitality among the sub-factors of health-related quality of life compared to the control group.

Application of Seed Vigor Test for Predicting Field Emergence in Azuki Bean (Vigna angularis Wight) (팥 포장출현력 예측을 위한 종자세 검사)

  • Field emergence of Azuki bean is poor due to hard seed coat as compared to other legumes. In this study, an attempt was made to develop prediction method with regression analysis based on various seed vigor tests in laboratory for field emergence of azuki bean. Azuki bean seeds artificially aged to provide various levels of seed quality were evaluated by the standard germination test (SGT), cold germination test (CT), cool germination test (CGT), complex stressing vigor test (CSVT), tetrazolium(TZ) vigor test and electroconductivity test. The SGT was suitable for predicting the field emergence in the unaged high vigor seeds. The abnormal seedling percentage and shoot length in the CGT were highly correlated with field emergence of moderate vigor seeds artificially aged for 2 days. Electroconductivity, seed viability in the CSVT, and vigor and predicted germinability in the tetrazolium vigor test were also useful for predicting field emergence. Percent of ungerminated seed in the CSVT was correlated with field emergence in the low vigor seeds artificially aged for 4 days. In a stepwise multiple regression analysis, seed viability in the SGT, normal seedling percentage and dry matter weight in the CGT accounted for 86.9% of the predicted value of field emergence in azuki bean.

A Study on the Influence of Smartphone Addiction Risk Factors on Self-elasticity and Smart Phone Addiction in Teenagers (청소년의 스마트폰 중독 위험요인이 자아탄력성과 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study seeks to establish the structural relationship between the personal psychological risk factors of teenagers of depression, anxiety and impulsiveness and smartphone addiction (daily disability, virtual orientation, tolerance, withdrawal) and self-elasticity (vitality, optimism, curiosity, interpersonal relationships). Through this verification, the purpose of this study is to find out if the integrated model of smartphone addiction and self-elasticity and smartphone addiction among teenagers is reasonable, and to suggest ways to prevent and solve smartphone addiction among teenagers. In order to achieve this purpose, 356 teenagers in Seoul and the metropolitan area were surveyed for two months from August to September 2019 and the results were analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the "smartphone addiction factors" (depression, anxiety and impulsive) of adolescents have been shown to have negative effects on their self-elasticity (vitality, optimism, curiosity, interpersonal relationships). Second, the "smartphone addiction factors" (depression, anxiety and impulsive) of teenagers have been shown to have positive effects on the "smartphone addiction" (daily disability, virtual orientation, tolerance, withdrawal). Third, the youth's "self-elasticity (vitality, optimism, curiosity, interpersonal relationship)" was shown to have a negative impact on "smartphone addiction (daily disability, virtual orientation, tolerance, withdrawal)." The significance of this study is that it has examined personal psychological risk factors that affect smartphone addiction and suggested measures to prevent smartphone addiction among teenagers and solve related problems by micro-analyzing the effects on smartphone addiction by utilizing self-elasticity.
