Comparison of satisfaction and need on nursing service perceived by the patients and nurses (입원환자와 간호사의 간호요구도 및 간호서비스 만족도 비교연구)

  • This study evaluates the need of nursing (NN) and satisfaction on nursing service (SNS) in patients and nurses. Questionnaires were completed by 105 patients and 105 nurses in one hospital. The mean score of NN was $3.73{\pm}0.76$ for patients and $3.88{\pm}0.60$ for nurses (t=9.23, p<.001). The top score came from cure territory, while the lowest from physical territory in both patients and nurses. The mean score of SNS was $3.35{\pm}0.74$ for patients and $3.31{\pm}0.44$ for nurses (t=3.88, p<.001). The top score came from cure territory, while the lowest from physical territory in both patients and nurses. When NN and SNS are compared, the score of NN was higher than that of SNS in both patients (t=3.77, p<.001) and nurses (t=9.23, p<.001). As a result, they provided unsatisfactory nursing services, although nurses worked hard to improve them. Nurse administrators should develop strategies and apply them.

The Effect of Leisure Activity, Based on the Model of Human Occupation, on Leisure Satisfaction, Activities of Daily Living and Rehabilitation Motivation in Elderly Patients: Implications for occupational therapy (여가활동을 통한 작업치료가 노인 환자의 여가 만족도, 일상생활활동 수행 능력, 재활 동기에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of leisure-based occupational therapy on leisure satisfaction, activities of daily living, and rehabilitation motivation in elderly patients with chronic diseases. In the study, Subjects were assigned to either the control or experimental group. The experimental group consisted of 10 and the control group of 14 patients. The experimental group receive a Leisure-based occupational therapy intervention, and the control group receive a conventional occupational therapy intervention. Leisure satisfaction, activities of daily living, and rehabilitation motivation were measured to Canadian occupational performance measure(COPM), Korean Activities of Daily Living(K-ADL·K-IADL), and Patient Questionnaire of Rehabilitation Motivation(PAREMO). Evaluation scores were compared before and after intervention to determine whether or not there were differences over time. And we examined the correlation between the variables. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The leisure-based occupational therapy has a significant effect on leisure satisfaction and rehabilitation motivation(p<.01). 2) The conventional occupational therapy has a significant effect on activities of daily living(p<.01). 3) There was a significant correlation between ADL and IADL(p<.01). 4) There was a significant correlation between leisure satisfaction and Rehabilitation Motivation(p<.01). Implications for occupational therapy include that we must offer appropriate approach with considering the interests and value of patients to them. And proposing studies to demonstrate the efficacy of occupational therapy approaches.

Patients' perception and satisfaction with apicoectomy (치근단절제술에 대한 환자의 인식과 만족도 조사)

  • Objectives: This study was aimed to examine the patients' perception and satisfaction with the results of endodontic microsurgery which was apicoectomy with retrofilling. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was given to 109 patients, who were recalled after a minimum of 3 months upon endodontic microsurgery in the Department of Conservative Dentistry, Yonsei University. A contingency table and correlation analysis were used to determine if there were any correlations between age/gender and the patients' responses (p = 0.05). Results: Approximately 60% of respondents answered they had never heard of surgical endodontic procedures. 63.3% of respondents chose the surgical option because they wanted to keep their natural teeth. If the patient required the same procedure on another tooth later, 100 out of 109 respondents answered they would choose microsurgery instead of extraction. Most patients (82.57%) appeared to be satisfied with the surgical procedure. Conclusions: Endodontic microsurgery consisting of apicoectomy and retrofilling seems to appeal to majority of patients as a satisfactory and valuable treatment choice.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the degree of satisfaction of cancer patients and to understand their motives for visiting Korean Medicine Hospital in order to increase satisfaction with Korean medicine among cancer patients. Methods: Data collection was conducted in the form of a survey of 100 inpatients who responded to a self-report questionnaire. Independent t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for data analysis. Results: The main reason for visiting Korean Medicine Hospital was to prevent metastasis or recurrence of cancer. Patients showed the highest satisfaction with acupuncture and moxibustion. The average degree of satisfaction related to the doctor service was, on a 5-point scale, 4.80, and that of using procedure was 4.68. Conclusion: Most of the cancer patients are satisfied with the medical services in Korean Medicine Hospital. There were no significant differences in satisfaction degree by gender, age, or occupation.

  • 다양한 치과 전문분야의 협진 치료가 필요한 환자에서는 심미적인 만족뿐 아니라 기능적이며 장기적 안정을 가져올 수 있는 치료가 전제되어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 분명한 치료목표와 그 목표를 이루기 위한 치료계획을 세우는 것이 선행되어야 한다. 환자와 술자 모두가 만족하는 치료결과를 갖기 위하여 어떠한 치료목표가 필요하며 그 목표를 위하여 치료계획을 세우는 방법과 그 치료과정에 대해 실제 임상증례를 통하여 각 과정을 설명하였다.

Fusion Research on the Factors Affecting Self-esteem of Orthodontic Patients (교정환자의 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 융합 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors affecting self - esteem of orthodontic patients. The factors affecting the self - esteem of the orthodontic patients were monthly incomes, and the factors influencing the necessity of orthodontic treatment were the highest at 20-25 years of age. The factors affecting the self - esteem of the orthodontic patients were the order of correction (β= 0.186), dental treatment satisfaction (β= 0.236), interpersonal relationship (β= 0.407), and the explanatory power of the model was 27.6%. Based on these results, it is necessary to continuously study the psychological characteristics to improve the recognition of the need for correction of orthodontic patients, the satisfaction of dental treatment, and the interpersonal relationship.

  • 문제: 영상의학과 특수 검사(CT, MRI, 초음파)가 고가인 것에 반해 환자의 대기시간이 길어 환자의 만족도가 낮고 부도율(non-attendance rate)도 높다. 목적: 환자의 영상의학과 특수 검사 예약률과 부도율(non-attendance rate)을 파악하고 이에 관한 원인을 분석하여 환자의 만족도를 증가시킬 방안을 모색하는 것이 목적이다. 의료기관: 경기도에 소재한 920병상규모의 대학병원 질 향상 활동: 영상의학과 검사 예약 환자의 부도율 원인 조사 및 만족도 조사를 실시하여 원인을 파악하고 개선을 통해 질 향상을 도모하였다. 개선효과: 전체부도율이 개선 전 9.6명에서 개선 후 7.1명으로, 불량률은 개선 전 10.43%에서 개선 후 7.81%로 다소 감소되었으며 검사 예약률은 개선 전 93.94%에서 개선 후 94.51%로 미 예약률은 6.0%에서 5.5%로 감소하였다.
