Analysis of Low-Frequency Magnetic SE of a Metal Plate: Diffusion and Slot Effects (도체 판의 자기장 차폐효과 분석: 확산과 슬롯 효과)

  • This study analyzes the low-frequency magnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) of a metal plate, in terms of diffusion and slot effects, by conducting a numerical simulation and implementing an analytical solution. When the metal has a low conductivity, the SE is dominated by the diffusion effect. However, when the conductivity and frequency both increase, the slot has a major influence on the SE. These results can be used as guidelines in the shielding design and SE requirements of electromagnetic pulse protection facilities.

  • A hygroscopic rotor comprises many microchannels with high adsorption characteristics. In this study, the iterative adsorption/desorption processes that were affected by the humid air flow in a channel were numerically simulated. In consideration of the accuracy and computational costs, in the desiccant layer, only surface diffusion was considered in this simulation. The results were compared with the previous numerical results and found to show good agreement. By conjugating the heat and mass transfer between the desiccant and the flow layers, temporal and spatial changes in the vapor mass fraction, adsorbed liquid water mass fraction, and temperature in the channel were presented.

  • In this paper, a model is developed to simulate carbon/carbon composite fabrication using chemical vapor infiltration, considering density and porosity change in the preform and multi-step hydrocarbons reactions. The model considers the preform as a porous medium whose diffusion and flow properties changes due to the porosity. To verify the theoretical model, two numerical analyses were performed for the case that the flow inside the preform is zero and the case that the flow inside the preform is calculated by fluid mechanics. The numerical results showed good agreement with the experimental data.

Counter-diffusion of Aromatic Compounds in Catalyst Supports (촉매담체내에서 방향족 화합물의 역확산)

  • The counter-diffusion of aromatic compounds such as coronene and tetra-phenylporphine by injection of acetone or tetra-phenylporphine solution was studied on aluminas and silica-alumina used widely as catalysts support. The counter-diffusivity was determined from simulation results by using the counter-diffusion model employing ideal adsorbed solution theory. The counter-diffusivities of aromatic compounds in the catalyst supports were ranged in ${\sim}10^{-15}m^2/sec$ in the desorption process by the injection of excess acetone. In the counter-diffusion process with tetra-phenylporphine solution which have similar concentration with adsorption solution, the counter-diffusivities of coronene were also ${\sim}10^{-15}m^2/sec$, and that of tetra-phenylporphine into pores were determined as ${\sim}10^{-11}m^2/sec$. The counter-diffusivities of coronene desobed from the adsorbent were significantly redyced in comparison with the effective diffusivities when there is counter-diffusion flux. The values mainly depended on the existence of counter-diffusion flux, but not concerned with the species and amount of desorbates.

  • In the reverse link of DS/CDMA systems, the Peak-to-Average Ratio(PAR) performance can be analyzed by phase variations of spread signals. In the paper, we propose s PAR analysis method using phase variations of signals. Using this method, we analyze the PAR performances of existing spreading methods and suggest several methods improving the PAR performances. Also we show the proposed methods have negligible BER degradation compared to the existing ones.

  • New and more efficient propulsion systems are required for LNG carriers. One of the proposed systems is a combination of a gas turbine with a heat recovery steam generator. This system constitutes a novel approach, which needs to be analyzed by system analysis and risk assessment to compensate for the lack of field experience. Of specific concern is the high pressure fuel supply system. This paper describes the dispersion and fire analysis performed to identify for safety and design improvement of proposed system.

소격격자 재균형법을 이용한 노달 해석함수 전개해의 가속화 기법

  • 현대적 노달방법은 다차원 중성자 확산방정식을 풀기 쉽고 계산시간을 단축시킬 수 있도록 각 방향에 대하여 횡방향으로 적분하여 등가인 차원 수 만큼의 1차원 중성자 확산 방정식을 만들어 풀고 있다 이 과정에서 횡방향 누출 중성자 적분항을 적절히 근사해야함이 필수적인데 이로 인하여 계산의 정확도를 손상하게 될 수가 있다. 이러한 횡방향 누출 중성자 근사를 제거하여 계산의 정확도를 향상시킨 것이 노달 해석함수 전개법(Analytic Function Expansion Nodal Method)이다. 그러나 이 방법은 기존의 노달 방법 보다는 계산시간이 다소 많이 소요되는 단점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 소격격자 재균형 가속법(Coarse-Mesh Rebalance Acceleration Method)을 노달 해석함수 전개법에 적용하면 계산의 정확도는 그대로 유지되면서도 속도는 크게 향상시킬 수 있음을 보여 준다.

  • 본 논문은 영상복원을 역확산 과정으로 해석하여 복원된 영상을 역확산 방정식의 해로 구하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 역확산 과정은 물리적으로 불량위치(ill-posed)과정이기 때문에, 이를 정규화 해주어야 하는데 이를 위해서 역확산 과정을 고유함수(eigenfunction)들의 전개로 나타낸 후에 고유함수들의 계수들을 조작하였다. 본 논문에서는 계수들을 조작할 때 영상이 가지고 있는 주파수 특성을 고려하여 한계주파수(cut-off frequency)를 넘은 경우에 계수들을 시간과 주파수의 감소함수로 나타내어 불량위치문제를 해결하였다. 계수를 주파수에 대한 감소함수로 나타낸 것은 영상에 저주파 성분이 많고, 고주파 성분이 영상의 형성에 끼치는 영향이 상대적으로 적다는 영상의 특성을 고려한 것이다. 이러한 감소함수를 사용하였을 때 불량위치 문제를 해결할 수 있다는 것을 증명하였고, 실험적으로 양질의 영상을 산출함을 보였다.

  • An improved two-dimensional Eulerian-Lagrangian convection-dispersion model was established after comparing several models. To simulate long term release of discontinuous suspended solid source from coastal dike construction, source was represented by Fourier transformation. It was concluded that this model can effectively simulate long term coastal dispersion problems.

격자형 공간 모델링을 이용한 해양 오염원 확산 예측 시스템

  • 본 논문은 해상에서 발생될 수 있는 기름 유출 사고시 효과적 방제의 지원을 위한 오염원 확산 예측 시스템의 개발을 주목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여, 격자형 공간 DEVS 모델 링 방법론을 이용한 SOS(Save Our Sea) 시스템을 개발하였다. 기존의 해양오염 예측 시스 템들이 대부분 해석적 기법에 의존하는데 비해 제안된 시스템은 격자형 공간 모델링을 이용 한 시뮬레이션 기법으로서 전체 해양을 Cell 단위의 공간으로 분할하고, Cellrks의 결합관계 는 Name-Directed Coupling을 적용함으로서 시스템 설계상의 효율성과 유연성을 제공한 다. 제안된 시스템은 기름유출사고의 발생시 오염원 확산에 영향을 주는 각종 벡터 변수값 들에 따른 해양 오염 물질의 확산 분포를 예측함과 동시에 확산에 영향을 주는 많은 벡터 값들이 모니터링 정보를 함께 제공함으로서 해양 오염 방제 및 환경 보존에 효과적으로 적 용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
