Facial Feature Verification System based on SVM Classifier (SVM 분류기에 의한 얼굴 특징 식별 시스템)

  • With the five-day workweek system in bank and the increased usage of ATM(Automatic Toller Machine), it is required that the financial crime using stolen credit card should be prevented. Though a CCTV camera is usually installed in near ATM, an intelligent criminal can cheat it disguising himself with sunglass or mask. In this paper, we propose facial feature verification system which can detect whether the user's face can be Identified or not, using image processing algorithm and SVM(Support Vector Machine). Experimental results show that FAR(Error Rate for accepting a disguised man as a non-disguised one) is 1% and FRR(Error Rate for rejecting a normal/non-disguised man as a disguised one) is 2% for training data. In addition, it shows the FAR of 2.5% and the FRR of 1.43% for test data.

  • We report an unusual case of osteoblastoma in the distal fibula in a 32-year-old man. Radiographs showed a ballooning lesion with internal trabeculation. MR images demonstrated a lobulated expanding lesion of central heterogeneous low signal intensity with enhancement. Curettage specimen was composed of abundant thick, pink osteoid without mineralization. The osteoid seams were lined by plump osteoblasts and a few giant cells. Focally, a fine unmineralized lace-like osteoid was seen.

Real-Time Rendering of a Displacement Map using an Image Pyramid (이미지 피라미드를 이용한 변위 맵의 실시간 렌더링)

  • displacement mapping enables us to add realistic details to polygonal meshes without changing geometry. We present a real-time artifacts-free inverse displacement mapping method. In each pixel, we construct a ray and trace the ray through the displacement map to find an intersection. To skip empty regions safely, we traverse the image pyramid of displacement map in top-down order. Furthermore, when the displacement map is enlarged, intersection with bilinear interpolated displacement map can be found. When the displacement map is at distance, our method supports mipmap-like prefiltering to enhance image quality and speed. Experimental results show that our method can produce correct images even at grazing view angles. Rendering speed of a test scene is over hundreds of frames per second and the influence of resolution of displacement map to rendering speed is little. Our method is simple enough to be added to existing virtual reality systems easily.

  • Animation in Taiwan has been profoundly influenced by the production of labor intensity for American and Japanese in the early days of its development. This phenomenon of the labor intensity reached peak in the 1980s. Information Bureau of Taiwan began to establish a system of supportive funding for its animation industry in the 1990s. During this period, the animation industry in Taiwan gave special emphasis to the theme of the local culture and to the creative works of the animation. By the 2010s, the elements of Chinese culture were introduced in the animation production in Taiwan. Through cross-national cooperation in production with other advanced countries, the Taiwan-made animation was successfully expended to the international market. However, the animation industry in Taiwan is facing the following problematical challenges: Firstly, the Taiwan government gives special attention to the financial support of animation industry rather than training university students to become professional experts in animation production. Secondly, there is no professional higher institution established to train specialized professional animation film-makers. Thirdly, Due to the lack of the cultural inspiration and the original mind, the form of its creative animated production is primarily imitated from other advanced countries. And fourthly, despite the fact that there is a cooperation and exchange programs between Taiwan and other foreign animation industries.

Unifying the operation of Privately Funded Expressways (민자고속도로 통합운영방안 연구)

  • The Korean government has actively accepted private investments in building expressways to improve its financial status. As of 2012, 422km of 9 private expressways are under operation, and until 2016 additional 15 are planned to be built with private investments. However, on average, each private expressway is at most 37km long, which works against economies of scale in maintenance and thus leads to inefficiencies such as traffic jams, driver inconveniences, and the increase in operating costs. To resolve these problems, the present study suggested that the maintenance and tolling system should be unified across each private operator. Unifying the operation of private expressways was expected to reduce user travel times and tolls, and save operator maintenance costs. These economic effects were expected to be tantamount to hundreds of billions of dollars. The shared toll collecting system will also reduce user's delays by removing main line tollgates. This can save another hundreds of billions of dollars by ensuring driver's convenience and safety.

  • 최근 이동통신기술이 급속히 발달함에 따라 국내는 물론 전세계 이동통신업계는 제 3세대 이동통신서비스의 성공여부에 많은 관심을 쏟고 있다. 지금까지의 이동통신산업의 성장이 빠른 기술개발에 의존한 기술추동적(technology-push) 성격을 지녔다면, 이동통신시장이 포화상태에 근접하고 있는 최근에는 서비스 및 장비 양면에서의 경쟁이 치열해 짐으로써 소비자의 기술에 대한 선택이 더욱 중요해짐에 따라 수요견인적(demand-pull) 기술혁신이 예상된다. 따라서, 이동통신서비스의 확대에 따른 특정기술에 대한 소비자의 선호에 대한 올바른 판단이 향후 산업의 기술진화방향을 예측하는데 핵심적인 역할을 할 것으로 생각된다. 현재 이동통신기술의 진보의 키워드는 '멀티미디어화'이다 향후 VOD (Video On Demand) 등 비디오 스트리밍(video streaming) 기술을 이용한 동영상 서비스, 화상전화, 타 디지털기기(예를 들어 PDA, 디지털 카메라 등)와의 융합 등의 서비스가 본격화되고 차세대 이동통신망의 구축이 가시화됨에 따라 이동통신의 멀티미디어 기능은 더욱 주목받게 될 것이다. 따라서 이동전화 단말기 창의 컬러화는 이러한 이동통신기술의 새로운 패러다임을 떠받치고 있는 가장 중요한 이정표로서의 의미를 지니고 있다. 본 연구에서는 표시1창의 컬러화로 실현되는 기술혁신요소에 대해서 소비자가 부여하는 가치를 분석하고자 한다. 하지만, 컬러 단말기의 보급이 초기단계에 머무르고 있는 연구시점의 특성상 현시자료가 가용하지 않았기 때문에, 소비자에게 가상의 품질특성을 지닌 제품 조합을 제시하고 이에 대해 소비자가 순위를 매기게 함으로써 소비자의 선호를 측정하는 컨조인트(conjoint) 방법론을 사용하였으며, 소비자의 진술선호(stated preference)에 기초하여 이동통신단말기의 개별 특성에 대한 부분가치와 보상잉여를 측정하였다. 또한, 이를 통해 창의 컬러화로 인해 기대되는 초과이윤의 가능성 등 경제적인 효과들을 정량적으로 분석하고, 브랜드 가치 등 기존의 단말기 경쟁력 요소들과의 비교를 통하여 컬러화가 가져다 줄 경쟁요소들을 추정함으로서, 기술확산 메커니즘을 확인하고자 한다.

A Study on the Optimal Public Service for Environmental Satellite Observation data (환경위성 관측정보의 대국민 맞춤형 서비스 제공 방안 연구)

  • Recently, the satellite development project in Korea has been changing from demand to focus on various purposes. Especially, it is proposed to process satellite data from a simple terrestrial image observation satellite and to produce high value added information. In order to expand demand for satellite information, it is necessary to develop customized information and to provide information that reflects the needs of the final target population. In this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey and analyzed the results to analyze the requirements for the customized services of environmental satellites. As a result, the environmental satellites were found to have a low awareness due to the launch and operation, but they were highly aware of the recent environmental issues such as fine dust. In addition, they are aware of the necessity of developing independent environmental satellites because they have a strong desire for environmental security, and they prefer to provide materials through media that are easy to publicize and access through the media.

  • Today, the city greatly increase the interest in the night, increasing the importance of building and landscape lighting is a trend. Landscape lighting and a combination of factors, especially the media has been expanding in the domestic media facade. The facade of the building for the implementation of the screen to install the LED, or are projecting the image through the projector. The facade of this study present a paradigm shift in traditional media based on interactive and works by combining the artistry of the item type, art, colors, patterns, and interactions were drawn into 5 main topics. Categorized by 5 types of lighting techniques, lighting system, manner of expression, changing the way lighting design elements were based. Study on Media Adaptation from a Webtoon to Virtual Reality Content (웹툰의 가상현실 콘텐츠로의 매체 전환에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to review the differences and distinctive characteristics between storytelling method of virtual reality contents and storytelling method of conventional contents instead of focusing on economic and industrial effects of virtual reality contents. As a specific target, this study discusses how existing storytelling method of webtoons as a single contents genre can be applied to virtual reality contents when webtoons are adapted into virtual reality contents. The purpose of this study is to find limitations and possibilities for the storytelling technique of virtual reality contents. The results of this study showed that the essence of storytelling in virtual reality contents is in three roles of the users of virtual reality. The users of virtual reality must play the roles of service user, audience of contents, and director of story. This is because the most important storytelling techniques in media contents like editing and change of camera viewpoint can no longer be forced in virtual reality contents. Storytelling techniques in virtual reality contents are much limited compared to the conventional contents in terms of user interaction, expansion of senses, and guarantee of freedom.

The Accomplishment and Evaluation of the Policy of Scheduling Outsourcing Broadcasting Programs (외주제작 방송 프로그램 편성 정책의 성과와 평가)

  • This study analyzed the accomplishment of the outsourcing production policy which forces broadcasting companies to schedule and broadcast more than a certain proportion of outsourcing production programs. According to the results from the examination of whether or not the policy increased the diversity of broadcasting programs, it is positive that a rise in the number of production companies resulting from the implementation of the outsourcing production policy increased the diversity of broadcasting program makers, but programs supplied were limited to certain genres, failing to be diverse. According to the results from the examination of whether or not the competitiveness of broadcasting and video contents increased, production conditions had not improved due to the controversy over the ownership of the right of production between terrestrial broadcasting companies and outsourcing production companies. In addition, though there was the positive effect of increasing export of broadcasting programs, the exports were limited to certain genres.
