와전류신호를 이용한 튜브시트 영역에서의 확관 검사 (Examination of Tube Expansion at Tubesheet Area using Eddy Current Test Signal)

  • 본 논문에서는 튜브시트 내, 외부의 여러 다른 위치에서 확관이 이루어졌을 때 절대 및 차동 와전류신호를 유한요소 모델링으로 예측하고, 신호에서 자성 튜브시트로 인한 신호변화와 확관으로 인한 신호변화를 관찰하였으며, 이들에 미치는 주파수의 영향을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 절대 및 차동신호 모두 튜브시트의 위치 파악에는 저주파가 유리하고, 주파수가 높을수록 확관된 내경의 측정 및 확관 천이부의 파악이 용이하였으며, 절대신호가 차동신호에 비해 신호변화가 더 크고 지속적이어서, 확관 품질을 조사하기에 더 적합한 신호형태를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Alloy 600/690 시제 전열관의 확관시험 평가 및 응력해석

  • 원전 증기발생기 시제 전열관으로 제조된 Alloy 600 및 690 에 대하여 ASTM 규정 (B163-86a)에 따라 확관실험을 실시하여 평가하였으며, 관 요소에 작용하는 응력을 해석하였다. 실험 결과 시제 전열관은 ASTM에서 요구하는 확관율 30% 및 그 이상의 35% 까지 확관할 경우에도 양호한 확관상태를 보였다. 확관에 따른 유동곡선의 축력은 Alloy 690 이 Alloy 600 에 비해 높았으며, 확관율의 증가에 따라 차이가 점진적으로 크지는 경향을 보였다. 얇은 벽 튜브의 확관에 대한 응력 해석식은 Modified Tresca's Yield Criterion를 도입하여 얻었으며, 소성변형식을 이용하여 확관율에 따른 응력을 예측하였다. 유동곡선의 이론 계산치와 실험치를 비교한 결과 Alloy 600의 경우 이론치는 실험치보다 약간 낮은 값으로 잘 일치되었으나, Alloy 690 경우는 Alloy 600에 비하여 확관율의 증가에 따라 차이가 커지는 경향을 보였다.

열교환기 튜브확관을 위한 맨드렐 설계 (Design of a Mandrel for Expansion of the Tube of the Heat Exchanger)

  • Specifically designed mandrel is needed to expand tube of the heat exchanger with inner grooves. Configuration of the expanded tube depends upon the shape and feeding velocity of the mandrel. 3D simulation software LS-DYNA was used to obtain optimum design conditions of the mandrel. We show how configuration of the expanded tube varies with different design parameters such as the approaching angle, diameter , and the feeding velocity of the mandrel. Material property data for analysis were obtained through experiments with SHPB ( Split Hopkinson Pressure Bars ).

하이드로포밍에 의한 튜브 확관에 대한 해석 (Analysis of Tube Expansion by Hydroforming)

  • Recently the hydroforming technology has drawn a lot of attention because of its capability to produce high quality and light weight parts. In the present study, the tube expansion - one of the simplest hydroforming processes, has been investigated in order to understand fundamental phenomena such as deformation characteristics and effect of process parameters. As a result, the most important process parameters, which determine the state of stress at the expanded zone, were found to be pressure and die displacement. If the stress becomes equi-axial tension at the zone, necking occurs at some distance from the weld line and develops into a crack along the axial direction. Some aspects of mechanical property measurements as well as distributions of hardness and microstructure are also discussed in this paper.

핀튜브 열교환기용 전관확관 유닛 개발 (Development of Hybrid Expander Unit for Fin Tube Heat Exchanger)

  • In this paper, the hybrid tube expander unit for fin and tube type heat exchanger are developed by means of enlarging and inserting the smooth tube with a small diameter to a finned tube having larger diameter. In other word, the tube expander tool that is easy to attach and remove from tube is developed. The hybrid tube expander unit developed in this study can move easily and enlarge the tube without fixing at tube sheet. Also, this unit has a function removing scales inside tube by replacing a tube expander ball.

  • The expanding method of tube to tubesheet joint part on neclear steam generators are classified into three classes of roller expanding, explosive expanding and hydraulic expanding. After the expanded Mock-Up specimen are made by the three expanding method. The general properties, microstructure/microvickers hardness, pull-out strength, hydraulic leak pressure, of tube to tubesheet joint part were inspected. and We evaluated the operation efficiency of expansion, reproduction of expanded joint about three expanding method. Through the overall evaluation of tube to tubesheet joint part, The hydraukic expanding and explosive expanding could be certificated more useful expanding method.

  • The basic requirements to improve the joints quality of tube-to-tubesheet for heat exchangers are to obtain high residual contact pressures between the tubes and the tubesheet as well as low residual stresses in the transition zone of the tubes. The residual contact pressures and residual stresses which govern the joint quality are influenced by parameters such as material properties, geometric dimension of tube and tubesheet and expansion pressures. There are two types of tube layout patterns, triangular and square, which are frequently used for heat exchangers. The purpose of the present work is to examine the superior tube layout patterns considering the joints quality by comparing numerical results from sensitivity analyses which were performed for both of tube layout patterns.

  • Porthole die extrusion is profitable to manufacture long tube with hollow section. The material through portholes is gathered within chamber and welded under high pressure. This weldability which classifies the quality of tube product is affected by several variables and die shape. But, porthole die extrusion has been executed on the experience of experts due to the complicated die assembly and complexity of metal flow. Analytic approaches that are useful in profitable die design and in the improvement of productivity are inevitably demanded. Therefore, the objective of this study is respectively to analyze the behavior of metal flow and to determine welding pressure of hot extrusion product according to the various billet temperature, bearing length and tube thickness by FE analysis and its results are compared with tube expanding tests.

  • In this study, friction test was proposed to obtain coefficient of friction between tube and die in expansion zone of tube hydroforming and friction coefficients were evaluated at different materials, viscosity of lubricants and internal pressures. For this study, STKM11A and SUS tubes were prepared. The tube was expanded by an internal pressure against the tool wall. The tube was expanded by an internal pressure against the tool wall. By pushing the tube through the tool, a friction force at the contact surface between the tube and the tool occurs. From the measured geometries and FE analysis, the friction coefficients between tube and die at the expansion zone in tubular hydroforming can be estimated. The effects of the various internal pressures, viscosity of lubricants, tube materials and tube thickness on friction coefficients are discussed.

FEM을 이용한 확관형 충돌에너지 흡수부재의 좌굴불안전성에 관한 연구 (The study on the buckling instability of the expansion tube type crash energy absorber by using the FEM)

  • The crash energy absorbers used in the trains normally are classified into two types. The first is the structure type, which mainly used in not only the primary structure of train but also the crash energy absorbers at the critical accidents. The second is the module type, which just absorbs the crash energy independently and attached onto the structures of the trains. The expansion tube is widely used as the module type of the crash energy absorbers, especially in the trains that have a heavy mass. Since the crash energy is absorbed by means of expanding the tube in the radial direction, the features of the expansion tube have the uniform load during the compression. As the uniform load remains in sudden impact, the expansion tube is effective to decrease acceleration of passengers when the train accident occur. The buckling instability of the expansion tubes is affected by the boundary conditions, thickness and length of tube. In this study, the effects of the length and thickness of the expansion tubes under the arbitrary load on the buckling are studied using the ABAQUS/standard and ABAQUS/explicit, a commercial finite element analysis program, and then presents the guideline to design the expansion tubes. The analysis processes to compute the buckling load consist of the linear buckling analysis and the nonlinear post-buckling analysis. To analysis the nonlinear post-buckling analysis, the geometry imperfections are introduced by applying the linear buckling modes to nonlinear post-buckling analysis.
