LCL Cargo Information System on Web (웹에서의 LCL 화물 정보 시스템 구현)

  • LCL은 컨테이너에 화물을 적재할 때 한 화주가 컨테이너의 공간을 전부 사용하는 FCL과 달리 여러 명의 화주가 각자의 화물을 한 컨테이너에 적재하는 방식을 말한다. 기존의 LCL 화물 선적은 화주의 요청에 의하여 선주가 Forward를 통하거나 이전에 거래하던 화주를 통하여 화물을 모집하여 남는 CBM(Cubic Miter)를 태우게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이들을 웹 상에서 서비스하는 LCL 화물 정보시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 화주와 선주의 정보를 시스템을 통하여 다른 화주나 선주에게 제공하는 한편 이들 정보들을 바탕으로 LCL 선적할 화주의 결정에 필요한 적절한 정책은 시스템의 Agent들에 의해서 이루어진다. 그리고 데이터베이스의 접근에 있어서도 CORBA를 이용하여 이 기종의 시스템들에 분산된 데이터베이스에 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 하여 보다 많은 정보를 바탕으로 시스템을 운영할 수 있다.

A study on the Logical Reclassification of Parcel Service Tariffs (택배요금기준의 합리적 재설정에 관한 연구)

  • In Korea, the parcel delivery service was launched officially in 1992, and the market has grown to 13.2 billion units, or 3.5 trillion won, as of 2011. The service companies accept small packages under 30 kg and deliver them on the next day in most domestic areas. This service plays an important role in business and personal activities. The parcel service companies have themselves designed the tariff for the delivery service based on two criteria: weight and the sum of three side lengths. Further, the tariff is graded in steps of three or four rate structures based on size (small, medium, large, and extra-small). However, the basic freight rate is generally decided according to the cargo's weight or measurement size, and an extra rate is added according to some factors (handling, stowability, liability, and so on). The parcel service tariff adopted by the companies is illogically designed, and this study was carried out to assess the need for redesigning the tariff structure. The cargo volume cannot be logically reflected by three side lengths. For example, two parcels measuring 160 cm based on three side lengths may have different volumes, one measuring 0.152 cbm (53.33 cm × 53.33 cm × 53.34 cm) and the other 0.05 cbm (100 cm × 50 cm × 10 cm). A small package of less than120 cm (sum of three side lengths) may have a volume of as much as 0.064 cbm (40 cm × 40 cm × 40 cm). Sample comparison showed that 17% of medium-size parcels (based on the sum of three side lengths) are small-volume packages, 24% of large-size parcels are small- or medium-volume packages, and 40% of extra-big-size parcels are big- or under-size packages. Therefore, if parcel service companies rate their services for volume cargo based on the three side lengths standard, users may have to pay higher than normal rates, particularly because a large percentage of parcels are volume cargo. According to this study, the average weight per 1 cbm is less than 300 kg. Therefore, users face an increasing risk of paying higher than logical freight charges. Generally, transportation companies are called "public interest enterprises," and parcel service companies operate as postal services. Public interest enterprises must provide the delivery service to all customers without discrimination at a reasonable service level and logical service charges. Therefore, parcels service tariffs must be designed and adopted logically. In this study, freight theories and prior research findings were used to consider the importance of freight rates, and distortion of parcel service rates based on the three side lengths system was verified through regression analysis of a parcel sample and sample comparison. In conclusion, volume sizes based on three side lengths have a higher correlation to the rate level than does the sum of three side lengths. Further, compared to the sum of three side lengths, volume size has a higher correlation to cargo weight, which is the most basic factor determining transportation cost. Therefore, the existing parcel service tariff should be changed to weight- and volume-based rates, and the tariff must be graded in steps of 8 to 10 higher rate structures for a logical freight schedule based on service cost.

  • In this paper, a maintenance system is developed for LNG-FPSO topside and hullside equipment based CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) methodology. First, the development system defined the PWBS(Product Work Breakdown Structure) of major equipment of LNG-FPSO. Second, the development system developed the failure analysis, economic evaluation for optimal maintenance plan and database systems that save and manage information about equipment, failure mode, failure rate and failure cause. Finally, the verification of the development system was applied to the inlet system of topside and the pump tower system of hullside and the system was confirmed the effectiveness of CBMS(Condition Based Maintenance System).

Gene Cloning, Purification and Characterization of Xylanase 10A from Paenibacillus woosongensis in Escherichia coli (Paenibacillus woosongensis로부터 대장균에 Xylanase 10A의 유전자 클로닝과 정제 및 특성분석)

  • A gene coding for the xylanase was cloned from Paenibacillus woosongensis, followed by determination of its complete nucleotide sequence. This xylanase gene, designated as xyn10A, consists of 1,446 nucleotides encoding a polypeptide of 481 amino acid residues. Based on the deduced amino acid sequence, Xyn10A was identified to be a modular enzyme composed of a catalytic domain highly homologous to the glycosyl hydrolase family 10 xylanase and a putative carbohydrate-binding module (CBM) in the C-terminus. By using DEAE-sepharose and phenyl-sepharose column chromatography, Xyn10A was purified from the cellfree extract of recombinant Escherichia coli carrying a P. woosongensis xyn10A gene. The N-terminal amino acid sequence of the purified Xyn10A was identified to exactly match the sequence immediately following the signal peptide predicted by the Signal5.0 server. The purified Xyn10A was a truncated protein of 33 kDa, suggesting the deletion of CBM in the C-terminus by intracellular hydrolysis. The purified enzyme had an optimum pH and temperature of 6.0 and 55-60℃, respectively, with the kinetic parameters Vmax and Km of 298.8 U/mg and 2.47 mg/ml, respectively, for oat spelt xylan. The enzyme was more active on arabinoxylan than on oat spelt xylan and birchood xylan with low activity for p-nitrophenyl-β-xylopyranoside. Xylanase activity was significantly inhibited by 5 mM Cu2+, Mn2+, and SDS, and was noticeably enhanced by K+, Ni2+, and Ca2+. The enzyme could hydrolyze xylooligosaccharides larger than xylobiose. The predominant products resulting from xylooligosaccharide hydrolysis were xylobiose and xylose.

A Study on the New Freight Charging Model for Parcel Service (택배서비스의 새로운 택배요금 모델에 관한 연구)

  • In Korea, the parcel delivery service is showing a high growth rate every year thanks to the activation of e-commerce, but the courier unit price continues to drop. Due to the low cost of parcel delivery, there is a need for improvement to normalize courier rates due to deterioration in profitability for couriers, deterioration in service for consumers, and overwork and accidents for workers. In this study, a rational rate system model and a systematic approach were presented. The study method modeled the chargeable weight by reflecting the voulumatirc weight and revenue ton by the volume and weight of the cargo, and presented a new parcel freight charge model based on the cost of delivery. In addition, a rate-determining support system was developed that can be easily, conveniently and reasonably determined on-site. In the demonstration, the rate difference was determined by relying on weight rather than volume, and 63.5% for personal courier and 40% for B2C courier were found to be inadequate. This study could be used as an alternative to solving side effects and problems at the delivery site, in the urgent need for research on ways to improve delivery prices.

Development of Direct DME Synthesis Process (DME 직접 합성공정 기술개발)

  • The physical properties of DME(Dimethyl Ether) are very similar to LPG and well-mixed. As cetane number of DME is similar to diesel fuel that can replace diesel fuel and alternative energy. DME is a clean energy source that can be manufactured from various raw materials such as natural gas, CBM(Coal Bed Methane) and biomass. DME has no carbon-carbon bond in its molecular structure and its combustion essentially generates no soot as well as no SOx. The development of DME process in KOGAS have 4 section. First, syngas section can be manufactured various syngas ratio. This completes the tri-reforming process for the synthesis gas ratio of approximately 4.0 to 1.0 range can be adjusted. Second, $CO_2$ is removed from the $CO_2$ removal section of about 92~99%, so the maximum concentration of $CO_2$ entering the DME synthesis reactor should not exceed 8%. Third, in the DME synthesis section, if the temperature of DME reactor increases, the activity of DME catalyst increased. but for the long-term activity is desirable to maintain the proper temperature. Finally, the purity of DME in the DME purification section is over 99.6%.
