Effect of Some Factors Affecting Callus Formation of Red Clover (레드 클로버의 캘러스 유도에 미치는 몇가지 요인의 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to determine factors affecting callus formation of some varieties of red clover. Growth regulators. basal medium, medium pH, agar concentration, and plant age for explant were investigated. The result obtained were as follows. As auxin source, 0.1 mg/ l picloram was found to be effective on callus formation. Callus formation was the highest on PC medium among several growth media. The callus produced on PC medium was more friable than those produced on the other media. The medium pH 5.8 gave the best response for callus formation. The effective seedling age for callus formatiom was around 5-7 days old. In agar concentration, 0.5-0.8%(WN) was suitable for callus formation.

  • Fibromuscular dysplasia is a nonatheromatous, noninflammatory arterial disorder that results in stenosis and/or aneurysm formation and rarely involves the mesenteric arteries. Herein, we report a case of fibromuscular dysplasia limited to the inferior mesenteric artery, which manifested with arterial aneurysms and ischemic colitis.

  • Amelogenesis imperfecta is defined as a genetically determined effect affecting enamel formation and may be associated with other ectodermal or systemic disorders. It is entirely an ectodermal disturbance, since the mesodermal components of the teeth are basically normal. The presentation of diverse clinical manifestations in 1:14,000 to 1:16,000. Classification of the AI types considers mode of inheritance and clinical manifestations. The most widely accepted classification system recognize three major groups; i.e., hypoplastic(thin enamel), hypocalcified(primary mineralization defect), hypomaturation(defect in enamel maturation). The treatment is that at first, genetic counselling must be practiced, and in anterior teeth, composite resin veneer or jacket crown for esthetics, and in posterior teeth, stainlees steel crown or gold onlay.

  • Crossed renal ectopia is a congenital malformation in which both kidneys lie on the same side of the spine, usually side by side longitudinally. More often on the right side. Fusion of the two renal units is eight times more common than nonfusion. Although crossed renal ectopia is uncommon, this unusual entity must be considered in an infant when cystic mass in the abdomen or pelvis paticularly if no kidney can be found on the opposite side. In many cases of crossed fused ectopia with multicystic dysplastic kidney(MCDK), the diagnosis can be strongly suspected from the sonogram, and no other studies may be necessary. However, both intravenous urography and isotope renography is useful to assess the function of the crossed kidney. Crossed renal ectopia and MCDKs are associated with a greater incidence of ureteropelvic junction obstruction and reflux. So, screening voiding cystourethrography should be performed. Very few studies of MCDK in the setting of crossed fused ectopia have been reported. We have experienced a 3-year-old boy with crossed fused renal ectopia with multicystic dysplasia.

Association between Ureaplasma urealyticum Colonization and Adverse Outcomes in Premature Infants (출생 시 Ureaplasma urealyticum 집락이 조산아의 임상 양상에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: Present evidences suggest that Ureaplasma urealyticum is a cause of pneumonia, septicemia, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in newborn infants, particularly those born prematurely. The purpose of this work was to examine the relationship between Ureaplasma urealyticum in the tracheal aspirates and adverse outcomes, such as BPD and early onset neonatal sepsis in premature infants. Methods: A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was performed on tracheal aspirates collected within 24 hour after birth in 176 premature infants less than 35 weeks of gestation and admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Bundang CHA Hospital. Results: U. urealyticum was detected in 37 of 176 preterm infants (21.0%). Gestational age ($29^{+5}{\pm}2^{+5}$ wk vs. $30^{+6}{\pm}2^+{-5}$ wk, P=0.0l3) and birth weight (1.39${\pm}$0.44 kg vs. 1.59${\pm}$0.55 kg, P=0.037) were lower in the U urealyticum-positive group compared to the control group. The incidence of early onset neonatal sepsis (16.2% vs. 6.5%, P=0.045) and BPD (45.9% vs. 29.5%, P=0.047) was higher in the U urealyticum-positive group compared to the control group, but the severity of BPD was not different between two groups. However, multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that the presence of U. urealyticum was not independently related to the development of early onset neonatal sepsis and BPD. Conclusion: The results suggest that colonization of the lower respiratory tract by U. urealyticum might not be related to the development of neonatal sepsis and BPD directly in preterm infants.

  • 기질농도, HRT, 온도, pH, $Ca^{2+}$ 농도변화에 따른 반응기의 생물막형성과 세포외고분자물질의 조성변화에 따른 기질 제거율을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 반응기의 초기 생물막 형성은 각 조건에 따라서 약간의 차이를 보였다. 반응기 운전 초기에 균에 의해 생산된 세포외고분자물질은 점액질의 형태로 세포벽에 부착되어 주위환경의 해로운 요인으로부터 세포를 보호하는 기능을 가지고 있어 생물막 형성을 촉진시키는 역할을 하였으나, 생물막이 안정화된 후에는 오히려 생물막의 산소투과와 영양분의 접촉을 떨어뜨리는 역할을 하여 기질 제거율을 저하시키는 작용을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 선형 이온빔 적용 플라즈마 표면처리 기술 및 코팅 공정을 통해서 고경도 투명 박막 형성 연구를 수행하였다. 플라즈마 전처리를 통해서 박막과 기판 사이의 밀착력을 향상시키고, advanced linear PECVD와 advaced plasma source를 적용하여 SiOxNy계의 박막을 형성하였다. 그 결과 투과도 92 % 이상, 표면 경도 6.3~6.9 GPa 이상의 고경도 투명 박막을 개발하였다. 본 연구 공정을 바탕으로 고경도의 투명 보호 필름 및 투명 디스플레이에 응용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 $H_2+CO_2$(40%) 혼합기체로부터 이산화탄소를 효과적으로 분리/회수 하기 위하여 가스 하이드레이트 형성법을 제안하였다. 하이드레이트의 형성 조건을 보다 완화시켜 주기 위하여 열역학적 촉진제로서 TBAB (Tetra-n-butyl Ammonium Bromide, $(C_4H_9)_4NBr$))와 THF(Tetrahydrofuran)를 각각 첨가하여 열역학적 촉진 현상을 살펴보았다. 다양한 농도의 TBAB(10, 40, 60 wt%)와 THF(1, 5.56, 10 mol%)에 대하여 3상(H - Lw - V) 평형을 측정하였다. 그 결과 40 wt%의 TBAB와 5.56 mol%의 THF의 농도에서 가장 큰 촉진효과를 보였으며 그 이상의 농도에서는 오히려 촉진효과가 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 혼합가스 하이드레이트 형성시 양론비 이상의 TBAB와 THF가 첨가될 경우 반응에 참여하지 못한 TBAB와 THF가 가스 하이드레이트 형성을 방해하기 때문이다. 열역학적 촉진제로서 실제공정에 적용할 경우 40 wt%의 TBAB와 5.56 mol%의 THF를 사용하는 것이 가장 효과적일 것으로 사료된다. 본 실험에서 얻어진 결과는 가스 하이드레이트 형성법을 이용한 합성가스 분리 공정 개발에 중요한 기초 자료가 될 것이다.

A Study on the Properties of Indium-Tin-Oxide(ITO) Films Deposited by DC magnetron sputtering method (DC magnetron sputtering 방법으로 형성한 Indium-Tin-Oxide(ITO) 박막의 특성 연구)

  • High quality indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films have been prepared by DC magnetron sputtering technique. By controlling the deposition parameters such as substrate temperature and oxygen flow rate, we were able to minimize the negative ion damage during the deposition. Films pr데ared under such conditions were found to posses an excel]ent electrical resistivity of $1.6\times10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$ and also found to have a optical transmission above 90%. We also observe that, increasing the oxygen now rate above 4 sccm leads to an increase in electrical resistivity of the films while the transmission was found to saturate with the increase in the oxygen gas flow.
