Land Preview System Using Laser Range Finder based on Heave Estimation (Heave 추정 기반의 레이저 거리측정기를 이용한 선행지형예측시스템)

  • In this paper, a new land preview system using laser range finder based on heave estimation algorithm is proposed. The proposed land preview system is an equipment which measures the shape of forward topography for autonomous vehicle. To implement this land preview system, the laser range finder is generally used because of its wide measuring range and robustness under various environmental condition. Then the current location of the vehicle has to be known to generate the shape of forward topography and sensors based on acceleration such as IMU and accelerometer are generally utilized to measure heave motion in the conventional land preview system. However the drawback to these sensors is that they are too expensive for low-cost vehicle such as mobile robot and their measurement error is increased for mobile robot with abrupt acceleration. In order to overcome this drawback, an algorithm that estimates heave motion using the information of odometer and previously measured topography is proposed in this paper. The proposed land preview system based on the heave estimation algorithm is verified through simulation and experiments for various terrain using a simulator and a real system.

  • 우리나라의 연평균강수량은 약 1362 mm이며, 총강수량의 약 30% 이상이 증발산을 통해 손실되고 있다고 추정되어지고 있다. 증발산은 물 수지 분석에 있어 매우 중요한 성분이며, 많은 부분을 차지하지만 다른 요인들에 비해 직접적인 관측이 어려워 과거에는 경험식을 사용하거나 단순하게 가정에 의해 결정해 왔다. 또한 기상자료로부터 증발산량을 추정하거나 증발접시나 추정식으로 잠재증발산을 추정하고 있다. 또한 최근 기후변화의 가속화에 따른 홍수의 가뭄의 강도와 빈도가 높아지고 있으며, 이에 따라 수자원 관리에 있어서 기초수문조사 항목에 많은 변화를 요구하고 있다. 그 결과 2007년 4월 하천법 개정으로 증발산량 및 토양수분량이 기초수문조사 항목으로 추가되었으며, K-water 연구원에서는 용담시험유역에 플럭스타워를 설치하였고 현재 운영 중에 있다. 덕유산 플럭스타워는 용담시험유역 내에 위치한 금강 수계 구량천 상류부의 덕곡제 유역 내에 설치하였으며, 2011년 4월부터 실제 증발산량을 관측하고 있다. 동경 $127^{\circ}$42'23" ~ $127^{\circ}$44'53", 북위 $35^{\circ}$50'47" ~ $35^{\circ}$52'50"사이로 중부지방에 위치한 유일한 증발산관측 타워이다. 유역 면적은 9.27 km2으로 유로연장 3.48 km, 유역 평균폭 2.66 km, 형상계수는 0.77이며, 덕곡제플럭스 타워 주변의 토지이용은 대부분 산림으로 구성되어 있으며, 침활 혼효림과 낙엽송림으로 임상 분포가 이루어져 있다. 주요 관측기기로는 3차원 풍향 풍속계, $CO_2/H_2O$ 기체분석기, 순복사 측정 센서, 지중열플럭스 측정 센서 등이 있다. 2011년부터 측정된 자료를 바탕으로 에디공분산 방법을 이용하여 증발산량을 측정하였으며, 30분간의 데이터 18,000개 중 취득률 90 % 이상의 데이터를 대상을 분석을 실시하였다. 2011 ~ 2015년도 증발산량 분석 결과는 아래의 표와 같다. 증발산의 패턴은 1월부터 서서히 증가하지만 활발하지는 않고, 4월부터 매우 활발해져 8월에 최대치에 이른다. 10월부터 증발산량은 급격히 감소하기 시작하며 11, 12월에는 증발산이 거의 발생하지 않는 공통적인 경향을 보였다. 2013년 8, 9월은 다른 해와 다른 경향을 보이고 있는데, 이는 2013년 8, 9월에 강우가 많이 발생하여 증발산량이 감소하였기 때문으로 판단된다. 2015년 8월은 다른 년도와 비교했을 때, 매우 높은 증발산량을 보이는데 이는 2015년 8월에 많은 강우에도 식생이 활발하게 작용하였기 때문으로 판단된다.

Numerical Estimation of Wind Loads on FLNG by Computational Fluid Dynamics (전산유체역학을 이용한 FLNG의 풍하중 추정에 관한 연구)

  • It has been noted that an accurate estimation of wind loads on offshore structures such as an FLNG (Liquefied Natural Gas Floating P roduction Storage Offloading Units, LNG FPSOs) with a large topside plays an important role in the safety design of hull and mooring system. Therefore, the present study aims to develop a computational model for estimating the wind load acting on an FLNG. In particular, it is the sequel to the previous research by the author. The numerical computation model in the present study was modified based on the previous research. Numerical analysis for estimating wind loads was performed in two conditions for an interval of wind direction (α), 15° over the range of 0° to 360°. One condition is uniform wind speed and the other is the NPD model reflecting the wind speed profile. At first, the effect of sand-grain roughness on the speed profile of the NPD model was studied. Based on the developed NPD model, mesh convergence tests were carried out for 3 wind headings, i.e. head, quartering, and beam. Finally, wind loads on 6-degrees of freedom were numerically estimated and compared by two boundary conditions, uniform speed, and the NPD model. In the present study, a commercial RANS-based viscous solver, STAR-CCM+ (ver. 17.02) was adopted. In summary, wind loads in surge and yaw from the wind speed profile boundary condition were increased by 20.35% and 34.27% at most. Particularly, the interval mean of sway (45° < α <135°, 225° < α < 315°) and roll (60° < α < 135°, 225° < α < 270°) increased by 15.60% and 10.89% against the uniform wind speed (10m/s) boundary condition.

Estimation of Weight Distribution of Rockfall Block by Joint Measurement And Study on Its Application to Rockfall Simulation (절리조사결과에 의한 현장 낙석무게분포추정 및 추정결과의 낙석시뮬레이션 적용성 검토)

  • The characteristics of rockfall are determined by virtually all factors and conditions e.g. the physical figure of the slope such as inclination, height, roughness, the elemental figure of the slope such as vegetation and material deposited, and the shape and weight of the rockfall itself. Although it is one of the major factors to be considered in rockfall simulation, little attention has been given to the weight of the rockfall. And, since the size of the rockfall is dominated by joint spacing, the distribution of the rockfall block weight can be predicted as a function of the joint spacing. In this study, the weight distribution of rockfall was estimated by using the method of volumetric joint count, $J_{\nu}$, based on joint spacing, and $RQD-J_{\nu}$. The results indicate that the weight distributions were analogous in two methods, and the distribution was to be $75.3{\sim}76.7%$ for 200 kilograms or lesser, $15.0{\sim}16.6%$ for $200{\sim}400$ kilograms, and $6.7{\sim}9.7%$ for 400 kilograms or more, which show good matches with the actual on-site weight distribution. Therefore, the weight distribution of rockfall suggested in this paper is able to be considered as appropriate data for rockfall simulation.

  • The ship's seakeeping performance in the pitching and roll motion was felt tired. These gives structural loads to loaded with cargo and hull facilities. Be to improve, small catamaran power yacht designed a data for ship research and ship's hull form to be decided. In this study, based on domestic release for coastal marine environment in the interpretation criteria were chosen based on the exercise performance. The seakeeping performance of marine leisure catamaran was based on voyage speed. The seakeeping performance estimates based on the encounter angle, the wave of the encounter frequency response amplitude ratio for exercise was assessed in the high performance area.

Depth From Defocus using Wavelet Transform (웨이블릿 변환을 이용한 Depth From Defocus)

  • In this paper, a new method for obtaining three-dimensional shape of an object by measuring relative blur between images using wavelet analysis has been described. Most of the previous methods use inverse filtering to determine the measure of defocus. These methods suffer from some fundamental problems like inaccuracies in finding the frequency domain representation, windowing effects, and border effects. Besides these deficiencies, a filter, such as Laplacian of Gaussian, that produces an aggregate estimate of defocus for an unknown texture, can not lead to accurate depth estimates because of the non-stationary nature of images. We propose a new depth from defocus (DFD) method using wavelet analysis that is capable of performing both the local analysis and the windowing technique with variable-sized regions for non-stationary images with complex textural properties. We show that normalized image ratio of wavelet power by Parseval's theorem is closely related to blur parameter and depth. Experimental results have been presented demonstrating that our DFD method is faster in speed and gives more precise shape estimates than previous DFD techniques for both synthetic and real scenes.

  • Finite failure NHPP models presented in the literature exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates Per fault. This Paper Proposes reliability model using the generalized gamma distribution, which can capture the monotonic increasing(or monotonic decreasing) nature of the failure occurrence rate per fault. Equations to estimate the parameters of the generalized gamma finite failure NHPP model based on failure data collected in the form of interfailure times are developed. For the sake of proposing shape parameter of the generalized gamma distribution, used to the special pattern. Data set, where the underlying failure process could not be adequately described by the knowing models, which motivated the development of the gamma or Weibull model. Analysis of failure data set for the generalized gamma modell, using arithmetic and Laplace trend tests . goodness-of-fit test, bias tests is presented.

Robust 3D Hand Tracking based on a Coupled Particle Filter (결합된 파티클 필터에 기반한 강인한 3차원 손 추적)

  • Tracking hands is an essential technique for hand gesture recognition which is an efficient way in Human Computer Interaction (HCI). Recently, many researchers have focused on hands tracking using a 3D hand model and showed robust tracking results compared to using 2D hand models. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D hand tracking method based on a coupled particle filter. This provides robust and fast tracking results by estimating each part of global hand poses and local finger motions separately and then utilizing the estimated results as a prior for each other. Furthermore, in order to improve the robustness, we apply a multi-cue based method by integrating a color-based area matching method and an edge-based distance matching method. In our experiments, the proposed method showed robust tracking results for complex hand motions in a cluttered background.

Development of Aerodynamic Girder for Super Suspension Bridges (초장대 현수교 내풍 단면의 개발)

  • 산업의 발달과 건설재료의 개발 및 설계 시공 기술의 급속한 발전으로 더 가볍고 더 긴 경간을 가진 교량이 건설되고 있다. 그러나 교량이 더 길어지고 가벼워질수록 풍하중에 의한 영향은 더욱 크게 받게 되어 여러 종류의 피해를 입게 된다. 이제는 어느 정도 잘 알려진 1940년에 발생한 Tacoma Narrow교의 붕괴사고는 내풍 설계의 필요성을 극단적으로 보여주는 대표적인 예로서 본격적인 내풍 공학 연구에 시발점이 되었다. 현재까지 아직 시공은 되지 않았으나 기본 설계 및 내풍안정성 평가가 완료되 주경간장 3,300m의 Messina교 및 2,800m의 일본해협횡단도로 프로젝트 초장대 현수교(안)의 출현까지 짧은 기간 동안 비약적인 기술 성장을 이루고 있다. 장대교량의 설계시 많은 풍동실험을 거쳐서 내풍안정성이 뛰어난 단면을 찾게 된다. Akashi교의 경우에도 트러스, 싱글박스, 트윈박스 등의 다양한 단면에 대한 풍동실험을 수행한 끝에 최종적으로 트러스 단면을 선택하였다. Great Belt교에서는 싱글박스 단면을 대상으로 다양한 단부 각도에 대한 결과를 바탕으로 최종 단면을 선정하였다. Stonecutter 교에는 트윈박스를 채용하여 기존 싱글박스를 뛰어넘는 도약을 단행하였다. 그리고 Messina교의 경우에는 약 20년에 걸쳐서 설계를 진행해 오면서 점진적으로 단면을 개선하여 최종적으로 트리플박스 단면을 채택하였다. 국내에서도 광양대교의 설계시 싱글박스에서 시작하여 트윈박스의 간격 최적화를 통하여 최종단면을 도출하였다. Akashi교는 최장경간장을 자랑하지만 고전적인 트러스 단면을 사용함으로써 Great Belt교, Stonecutter교, Messina교 등과 같이 혁신적인 단면을 채택한 교량에 비하여 상대적으로 기술적 가치를 인정받지 못하고 있다. 따라서 새로운 내풍 단면의 개발은 교량 설계를 위한 실용적인 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 경제적이고 내풍안정성이 우수한 도전적인 현수교 단면을 개발하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저 교량 계획 단계에 필요한 자료를 제공하기 위하여 기존 강박스 현수교의 제원을 수집하고 그 특성을 분석하여 각종 구조 변수들이 내풍안정성에 미치는 상대적인 영향을 평가하고, 근사적으로 고유진동수를 추정할 수 있는 추정식을 제시하였다. 그 다음으로 초장대 현수교 단면을 개발하기 위하여 다양한 풍동실험을 수행하고 가능한 단면 형상을 제시하였다.

A Study on the Underwater Target Detection Using the Waveform Inversion Technique (파형역산 기법을 이용한 수중표적 탐지 연구)

  • A short-range underwater target detection and identification techniques using mid- and high-frequency bands have been highly developed. However, nowadays the long-range detection using the low-frequency band is requested and one of the most challengeable issues. The waveform inversion technique is widely used and the hottest technology in both academia and industry of the seismic exploration. It is based on the numerical analysis tool, and could construct more than a few kilometers of the subsurface structures and model-parameters such as P-wave velocity using a low-frequency band. By applying this technique to the underwater acoustic circumstance, firstly application of underwater target detection is verified. Furthermore, subsurface structures and it's parameters of the war-field are well reconstructed. We can confirm that this technique greatly reduces the false-alarm rate for the underwater targets because it could accurately reproduce both the shape and the model-parameters at the same time.
