Hack's Law and the Geometric Properties of Catchment Plan-form (Hack의 법칙과 집수평면의 기하학적 특성)

  • This study makes a systematic approach to Hack's law considering self-affinity and self-similarity of natural basins as well as the elongation of corresponding catchment-plan forms. Catchment-plan forms extracted from DEM appear to be the population come from the interactions of 2 hypotheses on Hack's law. It is judged that the elongation measures based on inertia moments are more intuitive than the ones based on main channel lengths. The exponent of Hack's law, h, seems to be similar to the result of Gray's study (1961). However Hurst exponent, H, being 0.96 imply that catchment-plan forms considered in this study have isotropic increasing properties with scale. From this point of view it is inferred that the shapes of the basins in this study would be more affected from self-similarity of main channel lengths than self-affinity of catchment-plan forms.

Verification of Flight Control Law Similarity and HILS Environment Reliability for Fighter Aircraft (전투기급 비행제어법칙 상사성 및 HILS 환경 신뢰성 검증)

  • The flight control law of developed flight control computer(DFLCC) is developed based on operation flight program of advanced trainer aircraft full scale development final configuration. The flight control law design is used common use development tool in GUI(Graphic User Interface) environment. The flight control law transformed to C-Code is reflected in OFP. The OFP is verified by the standardized verification process. But, before standardized verification process, we need preliminary verification process such as similarity of flight control law and reliability of developed HILS. Similarity of flight control law is verified by comparing the aircraft response of advanced trainer aircraft and those of the developed control law. Also, reliability of developed HILS is verified by comparing the aircraft response of HILS and Non-real time simulation result. This paper verifies similarity of developed control law and reliability of HILS environment as comparing aircraft response.

A Study on Velocity Distribution Around Ship Stern by Improved Power Law Flow Model (멱법칙 유동모델의 개선에 의한 선미 유동장내 속도분포 연구)

  • Improved power law flow model was suggested for the calculation of wake flow characteristics around the three dimensional ship stern in case of the formation of bilge vortex in the direction of stern. In comparison with the power law and Coles flow model, the flow velocity calculated based on this study was delayed around the boundary of inner layer and outer layer in reverse flow. More accurate results was obtained with this improved power law flow model by the velocity calculation around ship stern. Accuracy was validated with the comparison of other calculation results and experimental datas.

  • When control surface failure occurs, it is conventional to correct a current control or to transform to other control. In this paper, instead of adopting a conventional way, a reconfiguration method which compensate the failure with alternative control surface deflection, depending on the level of failure, by using neural network and PCH(Pseudo-Control Hedging). The Conroller is designed of inner-loop(SCAS : Stability Command Augmentation System) with DMI(Dynamic Model Inversion) and outer-loop with Y axis acceleration feedback for a coordinate turn. Additionally, double PCH method was adopted to prevent actuator saturation and input command was generated to compensate for failure. At the end, The feasibility of the method is validated with randomly selected failure scenarios.

  • A spot welded joint is modeled using 3-D finite elements with embedded strong discontinuities. The spot weld is represented by a special cohesive law on the embedded discontinuity surface, instead of meshing its geometry. This strategy naturally eliminates the need of adaptive FEM meshes fitting the local geometry of the spot weld. Mesh independent solutions are guaranteed by explicitly modeling the detailed shape of the spot weld, which is in contrast with the exiting approach using point constraints for the spot weld.

  • 본 논문에서는 비눗방울에 나타나는 반사와 굴절 효과를 상용 게임엔진인 유니티 쉐이더(Unity shader)를 사용하여 구현하고 다양한 배경에서 합성할 수 있는 효율적인 프레임워크를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 계산량이 큰 유체 시뮬레이션을 이용하지 않고, 스넬(Snell)의 법칙을 이용하여 박막 내부의 굴절 벡터를 계산하고, 막 표면의 표현을 위해 다양한 텍스처(Texture)를 적용하였으며, vertex의 조정을 통해 비눗방울 자체의 움직임을 나타낼 수 있다. 결과적으로 실시간으로 높은 품질의 비눗방울을 표현할 수 있기 때문에 게임뿐만 아니라 가상현실 및 다양한 실시간 애플리케이션에 활용될 수 있다.

Analysis of drainage structure for river basin on the basis of power law distribution (멱함수 법칙분포를 기반으로 한 유역의 배수구조에 대한 해석)

  • This study aims at hydrologically demonstrating the universality of power law distribution by analyzing runoff aggregation structures of river basins. Power law distribution is fitted to cumulative drainage area of basins of interest by maximum likelihood, which results in the power law exponents. And then those exponents are assessed in terms of the shape of catchment plan-form. As a main result all of the basins in this study have similar distributions of catchment area. The exponents from this study tend to be higher than the ones from previous researches reflecting self-similar property of the catchment plan-forms of interest. Further study is required about the universality of power law distribution by means of the more realistic flow routing scheme within the framework of DEM.

  • Modern versions of supersonic jet fighter aircraft have several different weapon loading configuration to support air-to-air combat and air-to-ground delivery of weapon modes. These various aircraft loading conditions could result in asymmetric configurations to the aircraft once delivered. These asymmetric configurations could result in decreased handling qualities for the pilot maneuvering, stability, control issues and aerodynamic performance of the aircraft. In order to eliminate or decrease these adverse impacts on the pilot's ability, development of T-50 flight control law attempts to control the aircraft in both longitudinal and lateral-directional axes. Especially, the design of the lateral-directional roll axis control laws, utilizing a simple roll rate feedback structure and gains such as F-16, is developed for the T-50 aircraft to meet the aircraft's design requirements. Consequently, it is found that the improved control law decreases the roll-off phenomenon in lateral axes during pitch maneuver.

  • This work is concerned with the prediction of turbulent friction factors in rod bundles. In this study, the Law of the Wall is assumed to be valid over the entire flow area. The flow channel is divided into element channels, and the algebraic form of the "Law of the Wall" is integrated over each element channel to yield an analytic expression for the pressure drop in the rod bundle.   • Converging-diverging 노즐은 시스템 내부 유동에 적용되는 속도면적 법칙을 통해, 아음속 유동을 초음속으로 만드는 장치이며, 항공기 엔진 등에서 추력을 얻기 위해 쓰인다. 이상기체, 등 엔트로피를 가정한 동일 입구 조건에서, 출구로 빠져나오는 유동의 속도는 오직 면적 비에만 관계한다. 그러나 실제현상에서는, 출구에서의 유속이 유동의 압축성 효과 및 벽면에서의 전단력 등으로 인해 노즐 형상마다 상이한 결과를 낳는다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON Simulation을 활용하여 다양한 노즐 형상에 따른 출구에서의 Mach number를 구하고, 각각의 결과로부터 경향성을 찾는다. 또, 계산 결과를 이론식을 통해 도출되는 결과와 비교한다.
