Some phenomena in which insects can demonstrate environmental changes by xenobiotics are easily and simply evaluated. On this regard, general guidelines for environmental studies using insects as biomarkers which determine the effects of such changes are suggested. Insects include three-quaters of all living animal species. This diversity comprises many closely related species which may respond sole to environmental changes by xenobiotics. Insects have been used for assessing adverse effects of environmental changes by xenobiotics, especially pesticides. Collembolan species are widely used as physiological and behavioral biomarkers for the assessment of adverse effects caused by pesticides on soil environment. This review aims to evaluate tile possible use of Korean Collembolan species based upon their response to environmental changes in Korean soil mainly caused by pesticides for crop protection.
This study attempts to discuss holistic information in order to identify the characteristics of interactions using a graphing calculator. The use of a graphing calculator was divided into three stages: Visual, Analytical, and Self-regulated. The last stage can be called the Self-regulated instrument stage, because this last stage, the use of the calculator, is generally characterized as students actively controlling their ongoing efforts through self-regulating. The accomplishments of the operation can be divided into three levels: Immature, Maturing, and finally, Mature level. First, the characteristics of the Leading Statements were investigated to figure out who has the main role in cooperative learning. This study can support the previous study, which showed that computers could help improve the self-esteem of low-level students. Second, the point of transformation is referred to as the Turning Point. Several functions were observed in the Turning Point: student, instrument, and teacher. Third, when the students convert-sations reach a lull in class and then resume due to certain primary factors without the teachers intervention, this is a case of what is referred to as Structuralization. And last, in this study, the graphing calculator can be used as an auxiliary stimulus to help students control their stress and their attitudes, which in turn can also improve students social interaction.
Recent research shows that emotion is closely related to memory and learning. Although a growing number of educators have high interest in affective aspects of learning processes and outcomes, there are few studies to investigate systematically instructional strategies and learning environments based on learners' emotion. Despite the efforts to understand the role of emotion and to facilitate positive emotion for meaningful learning in face-to-face and online environments, it is still a challenging issue to measure emotion in a valid and reliable way. To implement emotion-based education, it is essential to overcome the limitation of self-report surveys on emotion, which rely on the memory of learners. The current study surveyed emotion measurement tools, which are recently developed in education and other domains, in terms of self-report, neurophysiology, and behavioral responses. This study also discussed how emotion measurement tools can be used in authentic learning and teaching situations. Particularly, this study focused on cutting-edge technologies that would enable educators to collect and analyze learners' emotion easily in real-world contexts. This study will contribute to the research about the role of emotion in education and the design of adaptive learning environments that consider the change of learners' emotion.

Perceived crowding is known as a necessary method to evaluate social carrying capacity in recreational settings. But according to the results of previous research, perceived crowding, use density, and satisfaction have shown weak and indirect correlations. The theory of visitors’ adjustment is one of several possible explanations for this poor relation. But the validity of the visitors’ adjustment theory has not been not inspected clearly. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to understand visitors’ adjustment theory and to examine visitors’ adjustment to the overuse of recreational settings. Study hypotheses were formulated through literature review and related to visitors’ adjustment in recreation density. Pour hypotheses were established and inspected with the case study, i.e., Rationalization : Visitors’ satisfaction isn't related to use density in recreation setting, 2) Product-shift : Preference norm is related to current use density, 3) Self-selection : Visitors’ satisfaction for the use level is generally high, and 4) Displacement : Norm interference is related to willingness to revisit. The case study was conducted during May and June,2001. According to the results of this survey, visitors adjust to overuse of recreation setting through rationalization and product shift (hypotheses l/2 acceptance). Current use density isn't related to visitors’ satisfaction and willingness to revisit (see table 3). And visitors’ preference norm is modified by situation (see table 4). Visitors’ satisfaction and willingness to revisit don't show a high correlation but moderately high (see table 5, hypothesis 3 acceptance). Differences between visitors’ preference norm and current use density is norm interference. Norm interference isn't related to willingness to revisit (see table 7). Therefore, the norm interference concept is not a useful method to explain visitors’ adjustment to the degree of overuse in a recreational setting (hypothesis 4 rejection). As for future directions, the following are proposed: 1) correctly understanding and reestablishing the visitor norm and norm interference concept, 2) introducing a composite research method to monitor visitors’ behavior and survey visitors’ attitudes and coping responses. These efforts would be helpful in the Planning and management of recreational settings to improve the quality of visitors’ experiences.
Purpose Despite the continued rise in the popularity of mobile MMORPGs, the previous studies mainly focused on negative results of playing MMORPG such as violence and game addiction. In addition, previous studies that verified game play motives were not enough to explain user's fundamental motives for MMORPG play. To verify the positive role of playing MMORPG, this study focused on stress coping strategies on continued play MMORPG, and divided factors into two dimensions: escapism and coping with system. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively identify the discriminatory effects of each factor on users' self-control, and the effect of self-constrol and behavioral adapatation on continued use intention for MMORPG. Design/methodology/approach This study was designed to examine the structural relationships among MMORPG users' escapism, system coping, self-control, behavioral adaptation and continued use intention for MMORPG. Findings The results from this study are as follow. First, the participants' effect-based escapism had a positive impact on self-control, whereas cause-based escapism had a negative impact on self-control. Next, proactive coping and reactive coping for system problem had a positive impact on self-control. In addition, Self-control had a positive impact on behavioral adaptation and continued use intention for MMORPG. Lastly, the behavioral adaptation to MMORPG had a positive impact continued use intention. The results of our study can suggest the positive effects of coping strategy on users' self-control and behavioral adaptation by applying the theory of both escapism and coping with system. Based on our results, game companies should develop contents that can gratify users' coping motives and enhance self-control and behavioral adaptation.
Nowadays, many interface devices or training systems for the disabled are being developed and introduced with the recent development in IT technology but only few training systems for the developmental disabled are introduced. In this paper, we present a situation training system based on the argumented reality in order to help the developmental disabled to increase their management level of capability to the certain situation. Our system is specifically based on the food serving in the restaurant. This maker-based system provides trainees to safely experience various different situations and take the training session under any circumstances. The trainees for this program are able to look around with the HMD on, take the training easily by following the voice instruction, and try situational scenario.

In this paper, An immunized PID(I-PID) controller based on cell mediated immune response is proposed to improve the control performance of the controller with PID scheme. And it is applied to the vibration of the building structure in the port with active damper systems. The immune system of organism in the real body regulates the antibody and T-cells to protect the attack from the foreign materials which are virus, germ cell, and other antigens. It has similar characteristics that are the adaptation and robustness to overcome disturbances and to control the plant of engineering application. At firstly, we build a model of the T-cell regulated immune response mechanism. We have also designed an I-PID controller focusing on the T-cell regulated immune response of biological immune system. Finally, we show that some computer simulations of the vibraton control for the building structure system with wind force excitation. These results for the proposed method also show that is has performance than other conventional controller design method.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of father's child rearing behavior and child rearing involvement perceived by their children to children's self-esteem and school adjustment. The subjects were 300 elementary school children selected from two elementary schools in Incheon area. The instruments included the father's child rearing behavior index, father's child rearing involvement index, children's self-esteem inventory, and children's school adjustment inventory. The statistics used from this data were correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. This study showed that father's child rearing behaviors of autonomy, achievement, concern and affection behavior were positively correlated to children's general, social, family and school self-esteem. Correlation analysis also indicated that a father's child rearing involvement, that is family activities, day to day guidance, household affairs and home education involvement were positively correlated to children's general, social and family self-esteem, and school self-esteem was positively correlated to family activities and day to day guidance involvement. Father's child rearing behaviors also indicated positive correlations with children's teachers, friends, studies and rule adjustments. A father's child rearing involvement also indicated positive correlations with all of the schools adjustment variables. The relationships between children's self-esteem and school adjustment indicated positive high correlations in all sub-variables. It was also found that autonomy behavior, family activities involvement, affection behavior and concern behavior were significant predictors of children's self-esteem. Also, day to day guidance involvement and family activities involvement were significant predictors of children's school adjustment, but in addition to children's self-esteem variables, children's social, school, general, and family self-esteem were significant predictors of children's school adjustment.
Community music therapy (CoMT) has been recently developed and expands the opportunities for music therapy. The concept of CoMT is introduced in this article, and its three attributes of community, music, and health are reviewed. This study specified each attribute of CoMT: a community (a group of people, a field where members of a group interact with each other), music (a substance of interaction, collective music-making), and health (motivation and goal of interaction, relational and social well-being). The application and interactions of the three attributes of CoMT are introduced as in the concept of community music, music and health, and community health. How CoMT can be applied to the field of music therapy is also detailed and based on the concept of CoMT and its relationship with the attributes, the CoMT was reconstructed as CoMuHeal in this study. Future studies are needed to propose how music therapy approaches can be developed to provide music for well-being and better health in the community and how CoMT can be applied in collaboration with other professional fields.
The purpose of this study was to verify the difference of middle school students' eating disorder behavior and scholastic adjustment according to the gender and weight group and evaluate correlations between their eating disorder behavior and scholastic adjustment. A survey was conducted in middle school second graders attending five schools located in Seoul. Results from 355 questionnaire sheets were utilized for statistical analysis, and the results were gained as below: With regard to eating disorder behavior by gender, female students showed more eating disorder behavior than male students (p < 0.01); however, scholastic adjustment did not indicate significant differences by gender. According to the result of analyzing scholastic adjustment according to the weight group, the obese group showed lower scholastic adjustment (p < 0.05) and adjustment to studying (p < 0.01) than other groups; however, the eating disorder behavior, attachment to school, and adjustment to school did not indicate significant differences. According to the results of analyzing scholastic adjustment by eating disorder group, the normal group showed higher adjustment to studying than the risky group (p < 0.01). And scholastic adjustment, attachment to school, and adjustment to school did not indicate significant differences. The eating disorder behavior showed negative relationship with adjustment to studying. They showed more eating disorder behavior, their adjustment to studying became lower. Therefore, it is necessary to provide nutritional education at home and at school for them to have appropriate dietary habits as well as health education for them to maintain normal weight.
