일본 코카콜라에서 운영하는 음료자판기는 무려 98만대에 이른다. 앙도 양이지만 일본 코카콜라가 펼치는 첨단 자판기 운영사례를 보면 더 놀랄 수밖에 없다. '환경대응'이나 '사회와의 공생'에 있어 적극적인 대책들을 제시하며, 선진적으로 자판기 운영을 하고 있다. 우리나라에서도 눈여겨보면서 벤치마킹해야 할 부분이 많다. 일본 코카콜라 홈페이지를 참조해 선진 자판기 운영사례를 정리해 봤다.

The number of claims and disputes among project participants has been steadily increasing last a few years and it creates numerous conflicts and problems in the domestic construction industry. One of the root causes of claims and disputes can be explained by the fact that project objectives of participants are offer different and not aligned. This research is considered as a pre-study of developing a strategy to mitigate conflicts such as claims and disputes in the domestic construction industry by utilizing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques. This research focused on improving standard contrast documents to establish a systematic dispute resolution process which emphasize the ADR method. To do so, several well-recognized contract documents developed by FIDIC, AIA, ECC were throughly investigated and analyzed using a benchmarking process. Result of the research propose needs of improving the domestic construction document's some clauses and the details will be further Investigated through surveys and expert's opinions.

The Korean Construction Industry significantly contributed to the Korean economic development not only by preparing the domestic infrastructure but also by successfully conducting various international projects. However, major incidents such as the collapse of Sung-Su Bridge and Sam-Pung Department Store along with stagnation of Korean Economy have raised questions about underlying systematic problems of the Korean Construction Industry. As a solution to resurrect the Korean Construction Industry, the Construction Management (CM) system introduced in late 1990's and increasingly utilized as an innovative delivery system. Despite of the fast growth of CM, the performance of CM has not been up to the hype and low CM fee has been identified as one of the main reasons of unsatisfactory CM performance. Therefore, this research attempted to propose ways of improving 'CM Fee Guidelines' published by Korean Ministry of Construction and Transportation by conducting a benchmarking study on Global Standards of estimating CM Fee. International organizations benchmarked in this research include CMAA, ASCE, DOL, DOE, etc. Various investigation and analysis revealed that Korean 'CM Fee Guidelines' need to significantly modified comparing to Global Standards. This research also tried to prepare recommendations to improve the CM deliver system focusing on the 'Method of CM Fee Estimation' and Selection of a CM firm as an owner's agent.

Korean engineering firms need to improve their performance in order to stay competitive in the globalize environments which has been led by some international movements including World Trade Organization (WTO) and Free Trade Agreements (FTA). There have been various activities and researches focusing on how to improve competitiveness of Korean engineering firms and the out-of-fashion Engineering Project Delivery System (EPDS) has repetitively identified as one of main barriers to deter advancements of Korean engineering industry. Therefore, this research attempted to investigate global standards of EPDS such as International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), American Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Brooks Act, and so on. The procedures of international EPDSs along with a few case studies were comprehensively analyzed and compared with Korean EPDS in order to propose recommendations of improving Korean EPDS. Some major differences between international and Korean EPDS were identified and they includes emphasis on qualifications of engineers and/or firms rather than their proposed cost, extensive use of long and short-list, common use of negotiation process, etc. Research findings are envisioned to guide the Korean public engineering sector to innovate Korean EPDS.

The purpose of this study is to provide a domestic applicable modular building construction process by benchmarking international best practices. In this study, we derive the risk factors that may occur in performing a modular construction projects and the modular construction management factors through case analysis. In order to effectively respond to risks in performing a modular building projects, we propose the modular building construction process which is separated by a transportation, lifting, assembly steps based on the unit module construction sequence. It is the key to providing management information and guidelines for the design, production, construction participants by reflecting the information for each step in the process. This study would prevent a potential hazard which may occur in the construction process. Consequently, It could result in saving the entire cost of modular construction project as shortening the project schedule and could improve workability of modular construction.

Domestic construction industry that accounts for nearly 17.5 percent of GDP is one of the major industries that has been leading domestic economy development. However, accumulated negative image such as corruption, fraudulent work and 3D industries shadowing the remarkable achievement is rampant. In order to improve the image for construction industry, this research investigated various cases and activities related to the image enhancement. Cases analyzed include activities of National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) such as 'Build Your Future', 'Construct My Future', 'Positive Image 2004', and so on. Based on the analysis results, a strategic framework to improve the image of Korean construction industry was proposed. It is envisioned that improved image of the industry will positively affect the growth of the construction industry by attracting more qualified human resources.

세계적으로 마이크로그리드에 이목이 집중되고 있는 현재 상황에서 DER(Distributed Energy Resources : 분산형 독립전원)의 역할이 대두되고 있다. 캠퍼스 마이크로그리드는 대학교의 캠퍼스를 하나이상의 DER로 선정하여 피크 시 교내 전기수요의 일부분을 해소할 수 있는 전력망 기반의 네트워크 시스템이다. 해외에서는 이미 캠퍼스 마이크로그리드 성공사례를 보여주었고, 이후 많은 캠퍼스에서 캠퍼스 마이크로그리드를 벤치마킹하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 캠퍼스 마이크로그리드에 필요한 DER을 구성하기 전 캠퍼스 내의 건물별, 계절별 전력수요 특성을 분석하고자 한다.

In globalization and information-oriented society, the domestic construction companies are competing with others in domestic and overseas market. To survive in the age of limitless competition, companies have to manage their performance systematically. However, domestic small and medium-sized companies which are holding a large majority don't have their own Performance Management System(PMS) yet. The purpose of this study is to analyze the existing PMS and to extract key drivers for developing PMS. Through case studies of KPI(UK), NBS(Chile), CII BM&M(USA) and SISIND-NET Project(Brazil), the key drivers are derived. Having these key drivers, this study suggested the conceptual model of PMS using benchmarking for small and medium-sized construction companies.

The purpose of this study is to explore the success factors of successful merchants. To do this, we review the successful story of merchants in Korea and Japan. We found that various success factors such as product differentiation, competitive price, flexible operation, and entrepreneurialism. As a result, it is important to find that large companies can not to do because of managerial systems. Thus, merchants have to analyze and benchmark the management strategies of competitors and development specialized managerial techniques for business operation.
