  • A variety of sensors and equipment are installed on passenger ships. Data collection from these sensors and associated equipment is required for the safe navigation and behavior analysis of ships, but when the ship sails out of the area where it is not possible to use the LTE communication, other types of networks have to be able to support to transmit these information. such as AIS, satellite communication and MF/HF. In this paper, we survey data protocol of onboard sensors and design ASM messages to transfer sensor data on board to the shore-side system.

  • In this paper, we present the results of the implementation of the strain gauge sensor module which can be applied to measure the load weight in preparation for forklifts with high frequency of safety accidents in the industrial field. The sensor module consisted of strain gauge, LNA, LPF and ADC. In order to increase the accuracy and durability of the sensor, four sensors were inserted into four anchor bolts.

  • With the increasing risk in building liquefied natural gas carriers (LNGC), pre-simulation of various scenarios is required for system integration and safe operation. In particular, the power management system (PMS) is an important part of the LNGC; it works in tight integration with the power control systems to achieve the desired performance and safety. To verify and improve unpredicted errors, we implemented a simulation model of power generation and consumption for testing PMS based on software-in-the-loop (SIL) method. To control and verify the PMS, numeric and physical simulation modeling was undertaken utilizing MATLAB/Simulink. In addition, the simulation model was verified with a load sharing test scenario for a sea trial. This simulation allows shipbuilders to participate in new value-added markets such as commissioning, installation, operation, and maintenance.

A Study on Geo-morphological Analysis and Risk Assessment Method Using Geospatial Information (지형공간정보를 활용한 지형형태학적 분석 및 위험도 평가 방안 연구)

  • Rock platforms and TTP (breakwater) are dangerous environments commonly subject to tidal and high wave energy on the open coast. This paper is a study on risk assessment to provide risk information, which is a representative method for preventing coastal safety accidents. Risk assessment based on geo-morphological information was conducted for the Halmi-Halabi rock platform in Anmyeon-eup, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. As a result of the risk assessment in 16 directions, the risk was evaluated high in the NE, ENE, S, SSW, and W directions, where there are many sections with slopes exceeding ±20°, and the NW direction was the lowest. Geo-morphology on rock platform is central to understanding what makes one stretch of complex coastline more hazardous than another, and it can be used to create site-specific morphological risk item. In particular, it will be assisting coastal managers in an effort to reduce the number of injuries and drowning incidents by providing hazard information to assess the relative risk.

A Study on the Development of Basic Model for Marine Traffic Assessment Considering the Encounter Type Between Vessels (선박조우 형태를 고려한 해상교통환경평가 기초 모형 개발)

  • Korea coastal area is highly potential dangerous zone of marine accident due to frequent ship's encounters. VTS center can't identify ship's information because of beyond VHF range. It is also difficult of us to efficiently manage vessel traffic beyond VTS control area, so that it can't prevent marine accident. Presently, korean government is conducting maritime traffic safety assessment according to enlargement of harbor & development of new port but do not have the system which provide danger of information depending on maritime traffic environment with real time. So it is necessary to develop evaluation index which can assess sea risk through the evaluation of maritime traffic environment. In this paper, on the basis of vessel navigator's risk consciousness, we carried out survey & statistical analysis vessel navigator's subjective risk depending on the LOA, crossing situation($045^{\circ}$, $090^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$), overtaking, head-on situation, encountering vessel's side, within or outside harbor, speed with other vessel(ex. same, fast or slow), speed difference with other vessel and distance with other vessel & propose basic expression to develop maritime traffic safety evaluation model. And by using this model, we can confirm that this proposing expression is suitable for domestic maritime traffic environment.

  • 국내에서는 1999년부터 국가수자원관리종합정보시스템(WAMIS) 구축 및 운영을 통해 물관리정보화사업을 추진하고 있으며 기초정보분석 중심에서 수자원 계획 수립과 정책 결정을 지원할 수 있는 시스템으로 확대하여 대국민 수자원 정보 제공과 홍보를 활성화하려고 노력하고 있다. 하지만 지금까지 국내에서는 수자원 현황을 평가하기 위해 상수도보급율, 하천개수율 등을 이용하여 수자원의 단편적인 분야만을 평가하여 왔으며 이들 개별지표들만으로 국내 수자원 상황에 대해 국민들이 체감하는데 한계가 있어 이들 사업의 성과를 지수화하여 수자원 정책과 사업의 효과를 국민들에게 적극적으로 홍보할 필요가 있다. 이를 지원하기 위해 2007년부터 2009년까지 수자원 각 분야별 수자원계획수립 업무지원체계를 구축하였으며 수자원 현황 평가를 위해 분야별 평가지수를 개발하고 수자원 통합지수를 선정하여 중권역별로 산정한 바 있다(건설교통부, 2007; 국토해양부, 2008, 2009). 보다 합리적인 수자원 평가를 위해서는 분야별(물이용, 치수, 하천환경) 평가 지수의 공간적 범위 확대 및 세부지표를 추가 고려함으로써 과거에서부터 현재까지의 분야별 변화 패턴을 파악해야 한다. 이를 통해 수자원 관련 정책 및 사업의 성과를 평가하고 구축된 기초자료 및 분석정보를 제공해 줄 수 있는 도구의 개발이 무엇보다 중요하다고 하겠다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기 개발된 분야별 평가지수 산정 결과와 분야별 현황과의 비교 분석을 통해 지수의 현장 적용성을 검토함으로써 기 개발된 지표의 취약점 및 한계점을 제시하였다. 보다 합리적이고 타당한 분야별 평가를 위해 세부지표를 추가로 선정하였으며 선정된 분야별 세부지표를 PSR 구성체계에 맞추어 구성하였다. 또한 분야별 현황 및 특성을 평가할 수 있는 분야별 평가지수를 개발하였으며 물이용 특성을 평가할 수 있는 지수를 '물이용안전성지수', 치수 특성을 평가할 수 있는 지수를 '홍수안전성지수', 하천환경 특성을 평가할 수 있는 지수를 '하천환경건강성지수'라 명명하였다. 또한 분야별 평가지수를 통합하여 수자원 현황을 평가하고 관리할 수 있는 수자원 통합지수인 '물만족지수'를 개발하여 제시하였다. 분야별 평가지수를 구성하는 각 세부지표의 특성을 파악하여 지표 산정 범위를 점, 선, 면으로 확대하여 제시하였으며 세분화된 공간단위별로 기초자료를 조사, 수집하여 시계열 DB를 구축하였다. 개발된 분야별 평가지수 및 물만족지수를 연도별 표준유역별로 구축된 DB를 이용하여 산정하고 비교 분석하였으며 상대적인 분야별 안전성 및 건강성을 평가하여 지수의 적용성을 검토하였다. 지표 관련 기초자료 및 분석을 통해 생성된 정보자료는 수자원정책 수립과정에서 매우 유용한 정보를 제공해 줌으로써 정책결정을 지원할 수 있고, 일반인과 관련 전문가들에게 수자원 관련 다양한 정보를 제공할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, an underwater acoustic digital transceiver is designed and implemented by a multiple DSPs system. We have designed a QPSK transmitter based on look-up table and 13-symbols Barker code is used for frame synchronization. Channel distortions are compensated by a wide-band beamformer based on FIR filter and an adaptive equalize. with RLS algorithm. Uniform linear array (ULA) with four elements is used for the spartial signal processing. 1/2 convolutional code and Viterbi decoder are implemented to overcome time-varying multi-path fading. Also, we show experimental results in the underwater anechoic basin at KRISO/KORDl and Goseong, Donghae and Soyang lake of Kangwon-do.

  • The rapid increase of the current marine accidents is mainly due to the human execution errors. In an effort to address this, various kinds of researches such as construction of the digital vessels and vessel information monitoring systems have been conducted. But for safe navigation of vessels, it lack on systems study which can efficiently store, utilize and manage the mass data accepted by the vessel. In this paper, we propose a VWS(Virtual World System) that is based on the architecture of intelligent systems RVC(Reactive Layer-Virtual World-Considerative Layer) model of intelligent autonomous navigation system. VWS is responsible to store all the necessary information for safe navigation of the vessel and the information services to the sub-system of intelligent autonomous navigation system. VWS uses topology database to express the specific problem area, and utilizes a scheduling to reflect the characteristics of the real-time processing environment. Also, Virtual World defines API for the system to reflect the characteristics of the distributed processing environment. As a case study, the VWS is applied to a intelligent ship autonomous navigation system, and simulation is done to prove the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • Recently, RFID/USN technology has been applied in various fields such as logistics, environment, education, home network, disaster prevention, military, and medical care, but despite the remarkable development of RFID/USN technology, it is difficult to apply it to marine industry due to the characteristics of poor marine environment. Therefore, satellites are mainly used in the marine sector, and existing communication networks are used in the coast, so measures for forming a shelf-only short-range network in the ocean are being considered. In this paper, we consider the use of drones as mobile base stations of USN as a base station role using USN in existing PS-LTE and LTE networks.Since autonomous navigation vessels are aiming for the intelligent system, the number of crew and labor force should be reduced and the function of autonomous network formation in the form of more stable and intelligent ICT convergence technology should be strengthened.

  • As the demand of sea leisure increases recently, interest is converged sea safety and offer of quick and systematic information according to weather environment that change rapidly. Use of Electronic Navigational Chart(ENC) in the sea in offer of geography information through Mobile terminal was gone to level that run in PDA environment in domestic by bulky good physician data information and complicated processing way of island in the sea expression in sea, and is loaded in obligatory sailing equipment of ship yet and is used. In this paper, we develop server system that take charge index for offer of quick information through Restrictive resource management and Caching Technique, image conversion and database construction and fast search to service various marine leisure informations of Weather Data and so on and image information of ENC in the sea to Mobile portable phone terminal efficiently.
