Digital airborne image must be precisely orthorectified to become geographical information. For orthorectification of airborne images, GPS/INS (Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System) and LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) elevation data were employed. In this study, 635 frame airborne images were produced and LIDAR data were converted to raster image for applying to image orthorectification. To derive images with constant brightness, flat field correction was applied to images. The airborne images were geometrically corrected by calculating internal orientation and external orientation using GPS/INS data and then orthorectified using LIDAR digital elevation model image. The precision of orthorectified images was validated by collecting 50 ground control points from arbitrary five images and LIDAR intensity image. As validation result, RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) was 0.387 as almost same as only two times of pixel spatial resolution. It is possible that this automatic orthorectification method of airborne image with higher precision is applied to airborne image industry.

This paper describes a 3.3V 10 bit CMOS digital-to-analog converter with a divided architecture of a 7 MSB and a 3 LSB, which uses an optimal Thermal-to-Binary Decoding method with monotonicity, glitch energy. The output stage utilizes here implements a return-to-zero circuit to obtain the dynamic performance. Most of D/A converters in decoding circuit is complicated, occupies a large chip area. For these problems, this paper describes a D/A converter using an optimal Thermal-to-Binary Decoding method. the designed D/A converter using the CMOS n-well $0.35{\mu}m$ process0. The experimental data shows that the rise/fall time, settling time, and INL/DNL are 1.90ns/2.0ns, 12.79ns, and a less than ${\pm}2.5/{\pm}0.7$ LSB, respectively. The power dissipation of the D/A converter with a single power supply of 3.3V is about 250mW.

In this paper, a novel method of minimizing the phase error is proposed. A DP-PLL system using this method is implemented and its performacnce is investigated, too. The DP-PLL system detects the phase error between reference clock and locally generated system clock. The phase difference is then reported as a PEV(Phase Error Variation), which is propoced from the delayted n-tap rising dege clock circuit with 5ns resolution in the phase detector. The algorithm is used to track the optimal DAC coefficients, which are adjusted from sample to sample in such a way as to minimize the PEV. The proposed method is found to have remarkable good potential for fast and accurate phase error tracking characteristic. The algorithm shows good performance to supress the low frequency jitter.-ending points, we design new basis functions based on the Legendre polynomial and then transform the error signals with them. When applied to synthetic images such as circles, ellipses and etc., the proposed method provides, in overall, outstanding results in respect to the transform coding gain compared with DCT and DST. And in the case when applied to natural images, the proposed method gives better image quality over DCT and comparable results with DST.

In this paper, Pipelined A/D converter with multi SHA structure is proposed for high speed operation. The proposed structure incorporates a multi SHA block that consists of multiple SHAs of identical characteristics in parallel to improve the conversion speed. The designed multi SHA is operated by non-overlapping clocks and the sampling speed can be improved by increasing the number of multiplexed SHAs. Pipelined A/D converter, applying the proposed structure, is designed to satisfy requirement of analog front-end of VDSL modem. The measured INL and DNL of designed A/D converter are $0.52LSB{\sim}-0.50LSB\;and\;0.80LSB{\sim}-0.76LSB$, respectively. It satisfies the design specifications for VDSL modems. The simulated SNR is about 66dB which corresponds to a 10.7 bit resolution. The power consumption is 24.32mW.

A society has progressed rapidly toward the highly advanced digital information age. However, noise is generated by several causes, when signal is processed. Therefore, methods for eliminating those noises have researched. There were the existing FFT(fast fourier transform) and STFT(short time fourier transform) for removing noise but it's impossible to know information about time and time-frequency localization capabilities have conflictive relationship. Therefore, for overcoming these limits, wavelet-based denoising methods that are capable of multiresolution analysis are applied to the signal processing field. However, existing threshold- and correlation-based denoising methods consider only statistical characteristics for noise, accordingly a lot of noise is acceptable as an edge and are impossible to remove AWGN and impulse noise, at the same time. Hence, in this paper we proposed wavelet-based new denoising algorithm and compared existing methods with it.

When an enemy platforms transmit electronic jamming or tracking interference signal to a friendly ship's radar, the radar have to avoid the jamming and to track targets continually without losing the targets with the electronic protection techniques. Electronic protection is an essential key for a platform to survive in electronic warfare, for this purpose, jamming simulator was developed to provide electronic warfare environments for the test and evaluate the effectiveness of radar's electronic protection techniques. Jamming simulator has ability to generate a variety of deception and noise jamming signals using the DRFM which minimize phase distortions of 1GHz broadband radar signal with the phase sampling method. This paper presents the design contents of the jamming simulator to process the analysis of broadband radar signal and generate jamming signal, also proposes the algorithms of the deception and noise jamming and verifies the effectiveness of the simulator by field trial.

This paper is designed for hardware to be applied to JPEG2000 standard in the fields of digital photography, remote sensing, aerial remote telemetry, medical imaging, high resolution, and high compression telemetry applications. The software implementation of the JPEG2000 standard for image compression has disadvantages that the processing speed is very slow compared to the conventional JPEG, also the degradation occurs when the DWT level of the JPEG2000 standard is improved. In order to solve this problem, we designed and applied JPEG2000 compression/decompressor. In this paper, the hardware of the JPEG 2000 compression/storage device shows optimal compression speed, faster processing speed, and the image quality for still images by changing the optimal DWT level.

A marine environmental information system (MEIS) useful for optimal route planning of ships running in the ocean was developed. Utilizing the simulated marine environmental data produced by the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts based on global environmental data observed by satellites, the real-time forecast and long-term statistics of marine environments around planned and probable ship routes are provided. The MEIS consists of a land-based data acquisition and analysis system(MEIS-Center) and a onboard information display system(MEIS-Ship) for graphic description of marine information and optimal route planning of ships. Also, it uses of satellite communication system for data transfer. The marine environmental components of winds, waves, air pressures and storms are provided, in which winds are described by speed and direction and waves are expressed in terms of height, direction and period for both of wind waves and swells. The real-time information is characterized by 0.5° resolution, 10 day forecast in 6 hour interval and daily update. The statistic information of monthly average and maximum value expected for a return period is featured by 1.5° resolution and based on 15 year database. The MEIS-Ship include an editing tool for route simulation and the forecasting and statistic information on planned routes can be displayed in graph or table. The MEIS enables for navigators to design an optimal navigational route that minimizes probable risk and operational cost.

Electronic Navigational Charts(ENCs) are official nautical charts which are equivalent to paper charts with supplementary information. Although their main purpose is to be used for the safe navigation of ships, they also contain much information on coasts and seas which may be interesting to ordinary people. However, there is no easy way to access them because of their specialized data format, access method and visualization. This paper proposes m implementation of SVG for the access and services of ENCs. SVG(Scalable Vector Graphic) makes it possible to make use of Vector graphics for map services in basic internet browsing environment. Implementation of SVG for ENC applications by this research is free of special server side GIS mapping system and client side extra technology. The Implementation of SVG for ENC Applications can be summarized as follows: Firstly, SVG provides spatial information to possess searching engine to embody SVG map. Secondly SVG can provide high-quality vector map graphics and interactive facility without special Internet GIS system. It makes it possible to use services with very low cost. Thirdly, SVG information service targeting on maritime transportation can be used as template, so it can be used dynamically any other purpose such as traffic management and vessel monitoring. Many good characteristics of SVG in mapping at computer screen and reusability of SVG document provide new era of visualization of marine geographic information.

It is important to develop a digital SOC (Social Overhead Capital) maintenance system for preemptive maintenance in response to the rapid aging of social infrastructures. Abnormal signals induced from structures can be detected quickly and optimal decisions can be made promptly using IoT sensors deployed on the structures. In this study, a digital SOC monitoring system incorporating a multimetric IoT sensor was developed for long-term monitoring, for use in cloud-computing server for automated and powerful data analysis, and for establishing databases to perform : (1) multimetric sensing, (2) long-term operation, and (3) LTE-based direct communication. The developed sensor had three axes of acceleration, and five axes of strain sensing channels for multimetric sensing, and had an event-driven power management system that activated the sensors only when vibration exceeded a predetermined limit, or the timer was triggered. The power management system could reduce power consumption, and an additional solar panel charging could enable long-term operation. Data from the sensors were transmitted to the server in real-time via low-power LTE-CAT M1 communication, which does not require an additional gateway device. Furthermore, the cloud server was developed to receive multi-variable data from the sensor, and perform a displacement fusion algorithm to obtain reference-free structural displacement for ambient structural assessment. The proposed digital SOC system was experimentally validated on a steel railroad and concrete girder bridge.
