A Study on Auto-Classification of Aviation Safety Data using NLP Algorithm (자연어처리 알고리즘을 이용한 위험기반 항공안전데이터 자동분류 방안 연구)

  • Although the domestic aviation industry has made rapid progress with the development of aircraft manufacturing and transportation technologies, aviation safety accidents continue to occur. The supervisory agency classifies hazards and risks based on risk-based aviation safety data, identifies safety trends for each air transportation operator, and conducts pre-inspections to prevent event and accidents. However, the human classification of data described in natural language format results in different results depending on knowledge, experience, and propensity, and it takes a considerable amount of time to understand and classify the meaning of the content. Therefore, in this journal, the fine-tuned KoBERT model was machine-learned over 5,000 data to predict the classification value of new data, showing 79.2% accuracy. In addition, some of the same result prediction and failed data for similar events were errors caused by human.

  • Recently, the Machine Learning based Artificial Intelligence has introduced in aviation field. In most cases, safety assurance of aviation software is achieved by applying RTCA DO-178C or DO-278A or similar standards. These standards were developed for and are well-suited to software that has inherent deterministic properties and explainability. Considering the characteristics of AI software based on ML, it is not feasible to assure the integrity of those new aviation systems using traditional software assurance standards mentioned above. In this paper, we research the certification framework that is newly suggested by EASA to deal with the aviation system including ML AI functions, and discuss what should the Korean authority and related industries prepare to cope with this issue.

  • The research and development trend of Trajectory-based Operations(TBO), which is considered as a key concept of future Air Traffic Management(ATM), is presented in this paper. The operational concepts of TBO in ASBU(Aviation System Block Upgrade) from ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) have been summarized, and the detailed operational concepts and procedures, which can be realized in the near future, are described through the investigations of operational concept development and related research/development activities of TBO in USA and Europe. The technical enablers, which have been identified based on understanding of TBO operational concepts, are introduced, and related research/development status of each technical enabler has been presented.

  • 항공기반시설(공항, 기상 서비스, 항로 항행시설)에 대한 보안사고 대응을 위한 보안체계는 수립단계에서부터 착수하여 분석이 진행됨에 따라 세부적인 평가가 수행되어야하며, 시설변경이 발생하는 경우 변경된 시설에 대하여 재평가를 하여야 한다. 또한 항공기 운용과정에서 발생 가능한 각종 사고에 대한 사전 예방 및 정비를 위해서도 체계적인 보안성 평가가 필수적이다. 보안성 평가에는 계획(Plan), 활동(Do), 그리고 평가(Check), 조치(Action)업무가 네트워크 구조로 통합되어 적용되며, 과거의 사용 또는 경험에 따라 세분화된 보안성 평가 요구조건을 구분하여 적용한다. 특히 항공기반시설에 대한 보안성 입증과 안전한 운항을 보장하기 위하여 실시간 지원체계와 국가 차원에서 이를 관리하여야 한다. 이는 공공의 안전을 확보하기 위한 것으로서, 민간항공업체는 해당 법규, 표준서 및 지침 등에 따라 최소한의 보안성을 입증하여야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 항공기반시설에 대한 보안사고 대응을 위한 보안체계를 위해 설정된 보안의 목표를 충족하고 있는지를 확인 평가하고, 분석 등을 고려하여 종합적인 보안성 평가기법을 적용할 수 있도록 하는 보안체계 네트워크 모델에 대해 제시하고자 한다.

  • 전 세계적으로 도시화가 가속화됨에 따라 도시 내 차량의 수가 지속해서 증가하고 있지만 주차 공간의 부족으로 인해 도심 내 불법주차 문제가 심각해지고 있다. 또한 주차된 차량의 운전자 정보가 노출된 환경으로 인해 개인 정보 유출이 중요한 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 불법주차 해소와 운전자 개인정보 보호를 동시에 해결하기 위한 자율주행 로봇 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 정상 주차를 식별하기 방안으로 마커 인식을 적용하였고 ROS 기반 Stella N1을 사용하여 자율주행할 수 있는 로봇을 제작하였다. 또한 전화번호 없이 운전자와 연락을 취할 수 있는 메시지전달 앱을 개발하였다.

  • This paper presents the result of VDL Mode 2 system design and implementation with AOA (ACARS Over AVLC) protocol based on international VDL Mode 2 specifications for the bit-oriented ATS applications. The designed VDL Mode 2 system is composed of airborne and ground subsystem. Airborne subsystem consists of VDR, CMU and Ground system consists of Ground Station and DSP. For the test of whole system, simplified CPDLC, ADS and AFN applications are implemented in test equipments.

  • This paper introduces an emergency response system in urban air mobility scenarios. A biometric responsive smartwatch was designed to monitor passengers' real-time heart rates. When an anomaly was detected, the system would send an alert via Morse code vibration and voice notification. It was integrated with the assumed control system of the ROS environment and communicates to implement a system for generating the shortest path for emergency landing to a nearby vertical port during urban air mobility operations. System stability was verified through high-fidelity simulation environments and testing based on actual geographic locations. Our technology improved the reliability and convenience of urban air mobility, demonstrating its effectiveness through simulations and tests in real-world scenarios.

  • There are various types of foreign object debris (FOD) in the aviation industry. Tools lost by workers can act as a risk factor throughout aircraft operation, manufacturing, and maintenance fields. Accidents caused by tools lost due to workers' carelessness continue to occur throughout the aviation industry. Aviation-related institutions such as FAA and EASA have established tool control regulations and systems to prevent FOD occurrence. However, in Korea, related regulations and procedures are insufficient. A systematic and effective tool control system is required for reliable manufacturing, airworthiness, operation, and maintenance of aircraft. In this paper, tool control regulations and procedures of domestic and foreign air traffic authorities and aviation industry-related organizations were studied. A wireless communication-based tool control system was proposed based on the NAS 412's tool control regulations certified by the National Standards Association.

  • 본 논문에서는 조도센서와 마이크로웨이브센서 기반의 협력제어를 통하여 기존대비 35%P 전력절감이 가능한 에너지 절감형 스마트 LED 조명시스템에 대하여 기술하였다. 제안된 시스템은 센서모듈과 LED조명, 무선전송 모듈이 분리된 형태로 인지기반 조명 제어를 통하여 ESCO 사업에 적합한 에너지 절감형 융합 조명 시스템에 다양하게 활용될 수 있다.

  • 최근 VVC(Versatile Video Coding) 표준 완료 이후 JVET(Joint Video Experts Team)은 NNVC(Neural Network-based Video Coding) AhG(Ad-hoc Group)을 구성하고 인공지능을 이용한 비디오 압축 기술들을 탐색하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 VVC 복원 영상의 DCT 계수를 기반으로 복원 영상을 분류하고, 분류된 각 클래스에 따라 적응적으로 CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) 기반의 화질 개선을 수행하는 VVC 후처리 기법을 제안한다. 실험결과, 제안기법은 AI(All Intra) 부호화 모드에서 1.23% BD-rate 이득을 보였다.
