Among these AI application fields, the image processing field shows various uses such as detecting objects or recognizing objects using artificial intelligence. In this paper, data synthesized by a virtual human is used as a method to analyze images taken in a specific space.

An Analysis on the Episodes of Large-scale Transport of Natural Airborne Particles and Anthropogenically Affected Particles from Different Sources in the East Asian Continent in 2008 (2008년 동아시아 대륙으로부터 기원이 다른 먼지와 인위적 오염 입자의 광역적 이동 사례에 대한 분석)

  • In 2008, multiple episodes of large-scale transport of natural airborne particles and anthropogenically affected particles from different sources in the East Asian continent were identified in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite RGB-composite images and the mass concentrations of ground level particulate matters. To analyze the aerosol size distribution during the large-scale transport of atmospheric aerosols, both aerosol optical depth (AOD; proportional to the aerosol total loading in the vertical column) and fine aerosol weighting (FW; fractional contribution of fine aerosol to the total AOD) of Moderate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aerosol products were used over the East Asian region. The six episodes of massive natural airborne particles were observed at Cheongwon, originating from sandstorms in northern China, Mongolia and the loess plateau of China. The $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ stood at 70% and 16% of the total mass concentration of TSP, respectively. However, the mass concentration of $PM_{2.5}$ among TSP increased as high as 23% in the episode in which they were flowing in by way f the industrial area in east China. In the other five episodes of anthropogenically affected particles that flowed into the Korean Peninsula from east China, the mass concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ among TSP reached 82% and 65%, respectively. The average AOD for the large-scale transport of anthropogenically affected particle episodes in the East Asian region was measured at $0.42{\pm}0.17$ compared with AOD ($0.36{\pm}0.13$) for the natural airborne particle episodes. Particularly, the regions covering east China, the Yellow Sea, the Korean Peninsula, and the east Korean sea were characterized by high levels of AOD. The average FW values observed during the event of anthropogenically affected aerosols ($0.63{\pm}0.16$) were moderately higher than those of natural airborne particles ($0.52{\pm}0.13$). This observation suggests that anthropogenically affected particles contribute greatly to the atmospheric aerosols in East Asia.

Equivalent Shrinkage Strain For Steel-Concrete Composite Girder Bridges (합성거더교의 등가 건조수축 변형률)

  • Since Modern bridges have a tendency to make the spans continuous and longer, the effect of concrete shrinkage and creep is very important and must be evaluated appropriately for the durability and safety of steel-concrete composite bridges. However, highway design specification in current use prescribes $180^{1\;2}$ as the final shrinkage strain. which is for less value than one resulted from many experimental researches and cause some problems in the construction of composite bridges due to the understimation of shrinkage strain. Thus, in this paper nonlinear analysis with time-steps applying the CEB-FIP(90) provision have been conducted for plate girder bridge, box girder bridge and Preflex beam bridge and the linear equivalent shrinkage strain for the design of composite bridges. which produces the stress equal to the values from the nonlinear analysis, has been calculated by comparing the results with the values following highway design specification. The results yield appropriately double values than $180^{1\;2}$ which highway design specification prescribes.

RF-Magnetron Sputtering을 이용한 $Cu_2O$ Rod 합성

  • Cuprous oxide ($Cu_2O$)는 밴드갭이 2.17 eV p-type 산화물 반도체로써 태양에너지 변환기, photocatalysis (광촉매작용), 센서, 스위칭 메모리 등 응용이 다양한 재료이다. 산화물 반도체의 기본 특성은 나노/마이크로 범위 안에서 재료의 표면형태, 크기, 구조와 형상 공간방향등에 크게 영향을 받는다. 그렇기 때문에 원하는 $Cu_2O$ 특성을 얻기 위해서 성장 거동을 아는 것은 매우 중요하다. RF 마그네트론 스퍼터법으로 rod 성장 사례는 잘 알려지지 않았다. 그래서 RF 마그네트론 스퍼터법 $Cu_2O$ rod 형성 실험을 통하여 $Cu_2O$ 형성과 성장 거동을 알아보았다. RF 마그네트론 스퍼터법으로 $Cu_2O$ rod를 glass 기판 위에 Cu metal target을 이용하여 형성시켰다. $Cu_2O$ rod 합성을 위해 기판온도 및 산소분압 O2/(Ar+O2)=3%, 5%, 7% 증착시간 등을 변화시켜 실험하였다. 성장된 rod의 분석은 XRD, SEM으로 확인하였다. 성장 거동은 증착온도와 증착시간에 차이를 보였다. 증착온도 $550^{\circ}C$에서 rod가 생성되는 것을 관찰하였다. 증착시간이 길어질수록 rod 길이가 길어지고 일정 시간이 지나면 rod의 길이 성장보다는 두께(폭)가 성장하는 것을 확인하였다. 증착온도 $550^{\circ}C$ 그리고 산소분압 3%, 5%, 7% 조건에서 rod 합성 실험을 하였을 때 3%, 5% 조건에서 rod의 성장을 확인하였다. 이때 3%, 5% 산소분압에 따라 rod의 모양이 변화하였다. 하지만 7% 조건에서는 rod가 성장하지 않았다. 이유는 3%, 5%에서는 Cu metal peak을 확인하였지만, 7% 조건에서는 Cu metal peak이 없었다. 이로부터 Cu metal이 $Cu_2O$ rod 생성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소임을 예상할 수 있었다.

Review of the Synthetic Rock Mass Approach (합성암반체 접근법에 대한 고찰)

  • This technical report is to introduce the research on SRM (Synthetic Rock Mass) which was presented in 2007 ISRM Congress at Lisbon by Prof, Fairhurst who speak with emphasis on its importance and potential in rock engineering. The Synthetic Rock Mass approach to jointed rock mass characterization (Pierce et al. 2007) is reviewed relative to existing empirical approaches and current understanding of jointed rock mass behaviour. The review illustrates how the key factors affecting the mechanical behaviour of jointed rock masses may be considered and demonstrates that the SRM approach constitutes a significant step forward in this field. This technique, based on two well-established methods, Bonded Particle Modelling in PFC-3D (Potyondy and Cundall, 2004) and Discrete Fracture Network simulation, employs a new sliding joint model that allows for large rock volumes containing thousands of pre-existing joints to be subjected to any non-trivial stress path. Output from SRM testing includes rock mass brittleness and strength, evolution of the full compliance matrix and primary fragmentation.

Development of an Image Data Augmentation Apparatus to Evaluate CNN Model (CNN 모델 평가를 위한 이미지 데이터 증강 도구 개발)

  • As CNN model is applied to various domains such as image classification and object detection, the performance of CNN model which is used to safety critical system like autonomous vehicles should be reliable. To evaluate that CNN model can sustain the performance in various environments, we developed an image data augmentation apparatus which generates images that is changed background. If an image which contains object is entered into the apparatus, it extracts an object image from the entered image and generate s composed images by synthesizing the object image with collected background images. A s a method to evaluate a CNN model, the apparatus generate s new test images from original test images, and we evaluate the CNN model by the new test image. As a case study, we generated new test images from Pascal VOC2007 and evaluated a YOLOv3 model with the new images. As a result, it was detected that mAP of new test images is almost 0.11 lower than mAP of the original test images.

A Study on Initial Characterization of Big Data Technology Acceptance - Moderating Role of Technology User & Technology Utilizer (빅데이터 기술수용의 초기 특성 연구 - 기술이용자 및 기술활용자 측면의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Systematic studies have been rarely conducted on the acceptance of big data technology despite the technology drawing much attention from academia, industry and general public. With big data technology still being in the infant stage in Korea, a study model was constructed in this paper by integrating the innovation diffusion theory and the task technology fit theory with this technology acceptance model (TAM) as the central framework to make big data technology more readily acceptable in the country, and the aim of making big data technology readily acceptable was expanded as the moderator variable of the TAM. The results of this study showed that "subjective norm" and "task technology fit" showed the most significant effect as the exogenous variables of the TAM. In addition, the "innovative characteristic of the organization" was the significant exogenous variable affecting the intention to accept big data technology to those "technology utilizers" that try to come up with new services or products that are technology-based; however, "subjective norm" was the rather significant factor affecting those simple "technology users". Finally, a significant difference was seen in the verification of mediation effect.

Improvement of Sensing Properties in Nanowires/Nanofibers by Forming Shells Using Atomic Layer Deposition (원자층증착법으로 형성된 셀형성을 이용한 나노선/나노섬유 화학센서의 감응성 향상)

  • 나노섬유(nanofiber), 나노선(nanowire), 그리고 나노튜브(nanotube)와 같은 1차원 구조의(one-dimensional structure) 나노재료는 벌크(bulk) 및 박막(film) 재료와는 다르게 물리적, 화학적으로 특이한 성질을 가지고 있으며, 이러한 성질은 나노재료의 구조, 형상, 크기 등에 큰 영향을 받는다. 첫 째, 전기방사(electrospinning) 공정을 이용한 나노섬유의 합성; 용액의 특성, 전기장 세기, 방사시간 등의 변수를 조절하게 되면 방출되는 재료의 형상을 입자 혹은 섬유상의 형태로 얻을 수 있으며, 전기방사를 통해 합성된 나노재료의 소결 온도 및 시간을 달리함으로써 나노입자의 크기를 조절할 수 있다. 또한, 템플레이트 합성법(template synthesis) 및 이중노즐(coaxial nozzle)을 이용해 속이 빈 형태인 중공(hollow) 구조의 나노섬유를 얻을 수 있으며, 전기방사에 사용되는 전구물질에 원하는 금속 및 산화물을 첨가함으로써 복합체(composite) 나노섬유를 얻을 수 있다. 둘 째, VLS(Vapor-Liquid-Solid) 공정을 이용한 나노선의 성장; 온도, 압력, 전구물질의 양, 그리고 시간 등의 변수를 조절하게 되면 원하는 직경 및 길이를 갖는 나노선을 성장시킬 수 있다. 그리고 ALD(Atomic Layer Deposition)를 이용해 나노선에 추가적인 층을 형성함으로써 코어-셀 구조를 형성할 수 있으며, 감마선, UV와 같은 공정을 이용해 귀금속 촉매를 나노선에 기능화 시킬 수도 있다. 코어-셀 구조를 갖는 나노선/나노섬유는 코어 혹은 셀 층의 전자나 홀의 이동을 유발하여 전자공핍층(electron depletion layer) 또는 정공축적층(hole accumulation layer)을 확대 및 축소시켜 센서의 초기저항을 증가시키거나 감소시키는 역할로써 이용되고 있으며, 특히, 셀 층의 두께가 셀 층 재료의 Debye length와 유사한 크기를 갖게 되면, 셀 층은 완전공핍층(fully depleted layer)을 형성해 최대의 감도를 나타낼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 제조 공정을 통해 제작될 수 있는 1차원 나노-구조물을 가스센서에 적용하는 사례들을 소개하고, 이러한 가스센서의 감응성능을 향상시키기 위한 방법의 한 가지로 원자층증착법으로 나노선/나노섬유의 표면에 셀층을 형성하여 감응성 향상 메커니즘 및 관련 주요 변수들을 조사하고자 한다.

Static Test and Suggestion of Shear Strength Equation on Shear Studs in Composite Bridge (합성형 교량에서 전단연결재에 대한 정적실험 및 강도식의 제안)

  • In this study, to investigate the shear connection material for the composite of steel plate and bottom plate, design standards and research cases for shear connectors in various countries around the world were analyzed and shear tests were performed on the Push-out specimens with a shear connection, which transmits the horizontal shear force developed on the contact surface between the steel plate and the concrete slab due to various vertical loads acting on the bridge deck. Through Push-out tests of shear studs, of which FRP bar instead reinforcement is placed, the shear stud evaluation formula of the steel strap bottom plate was suggested. The suggested equation suggested in this study has the safety factor of approximately three times compared to allowable strength of highway bridge design criteria. In addition, compared to existing DIN standards and Viest assessment equation, the results showed similar values(approximately, 5% error).

Determination of Capsaicin, Dihydrocapsaicin and Nonivamide by Gas Chromatography (기체크로마토그래피에 의한 캡사이신, 디하이드로캡사이신 및 노니바마이드(PAVA)의 정량)

  • Determination of capsaicin, dihydrocapsaicin and nonivamide in pungent liquids of self-defense spray were studied. The nonivamide having almost same spicy taste with capsaicin have been containing a few amounts in natural products, it had called as synthetic capsaicin or PAVA, have used to flavorings for foodstuffs and incapacitating agents of riot controls. Nowadays, it has been occasionally found that the quality controls of a self-defense sprays were not properly due to flood of illegal self-defense sprays. Thus, the simple analytical method with gas chromatography is developed, it is identified whether the products which have contained synthetic capsaicin were marked like natural materials as well as the pungent ingredients in it obeyed with permissible concentration to human or not was investigated. Finally, the pungent components and amounts in some kinds of self-defense spray were investigated.
