Analysis of Spatial Influential Zone for Road Sign using the Variable Radius Buffer Model (지방지역 일반국도 도로표지 안내지명의 공간적 영향권 분석 (Variable radius buffer model을 이용하여))

  • Almost all Drivers who are not familiar with local areas usually rely on road signs equipped along the roadways. The road signs in Korea present the name of the city along the driver’s direction. The consistency of guided name on the road-signs is important for drivers. The discordances among road signs frustrate drivers particularly when the drivers are confused with whether or not they are in the right direction. There are several studies focusing on the continuity of information on the road signs. Most of the researches, however, do not suggest the objective way but diagnose present problem. Applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), we evaluate the impact of information on road signs and select the candidate information considering the score and limited number of information. We also suggest the reasonable spatial influence area of road sign information using geo-spatial analysis. From this study, we expect that the director in charge of selecting information can make decision reasonably without difficulties of choosing information.

Development of the Evaluation Criteria of the Physical Computing Based Learning Tools for SW Education in the 2015 Revised National Curriculum for Elementary Education (2015 개정 초등 교육과정의 SW교육을 위한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 기반 교구 평가 준거 개발)

  • The 2015 revised national curriculum includes SW courses to improve computational thinking, and a variety of physical computing tools for learning are on sale for use in education. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for selecting physical computing tool for learning suitable for learning situations and learning purposes, and to provide a reasonable basis for judging the choice of tools in the field. Delphi survey method was used as a reference method for developing evaluation criteria through 25 expert panels. As a result, the criterion of evaluation of the learning tool composed of 40 essential and 11 selection criteria for 7 domains was presented. In addition, the evaluation results of five kinds of learning tools commercialized through the evaluation criteria of the learning tool were analyzed. The evaluation criteria for the learning tools developed through this study are expected to help teachers select rational learning tools and help learning tool developers develop learning tools.

  • Steel structures have been allowed to have fatigue damage tolerance in fact. If it would be assessed whether fatigue crack is growing or not and How fast fatigue crack is propagating, we should make a rational decision on methods and a period of reinforcement in the maintenance. In this study, fatigue crack growth tests on two kinds of through-thickness cracked steel plates and a out-of-plane gusset welded joint were conducted to evaluate fatigue crack growth rate using the COD(Crack Opening Displacement), and COD measurement using strain gauges was examined to offer a practical method. As a result, we proposed a reasonable assessing method for fatigue crack growth rate using the COD and it was experimentally proved practical to estimate the COD through measuring strains.

  • 한국의 기초연구는 1977년 한국과학재단(현(現) 한국연구재단) 설립을 시작으로 1989년 기초과학진흥 원년 선포, 기초과학진흥법 제정을 통해 정부의 과감한 연구비 투자와 과학기술 인력양성 등에 힘입어 놀라운 속도로 성장하였다. 그러나 정부 R&D 투자가 증가하였음에도 불구하고 대학 연구자의 낮은 정부 기초연구비 수혜 체감율 이슈가 지속적으로 제기되었다. 본 연구는 기초연구의 정의와 역할에 관한 근본적인 질문에 대한 답을 찾고 그간의 투자와 성과 등에 대한 분석을 기반으로 한 합리적 진단을 통해 미래를 위한 발전과제를 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국의 기초연구투자 현황과 수준 등을 분석하여 우리의 기초연구가 다음 단계로 도약하기 위해 필요한 여섯 가지 핵심이슈별 진단을 내리고자 하였다. 핵심이슈는 대학에 대한 기초연구 투자 규모, 교수 1인당 적정 지원 규모, 기초연구비 지원 방식, 연구과제 선정률의 적정선 유지, 우수 연구자의 체계적 지원, 연구몰입환경 조성이다. 다각적 분석과 진단을 기반으로 기초연구의 지속적 혁신을 위한 다섯 가지 발전과제를 제안하였다. 발전과제는 대학연구비 증액, 기초연구 펀딩방식 다양화, 연구분야별 연구지원체계 구축 및 예측 가능한 원칙 수립, 우수연구자에 대한 안정적이고 충분한 지원, 연구행정 부담 완화이다. 정책적 제도적 발전과제 외에 기초연구를 통한 직접적인 경제 사회 문화적 효과를 강조하기 보다는 창의적 도전적인 연구 수행 과정을 통해 축적되는 고유의 경험과 지식을 기반으로 세계를 선도하는 연구가 창출될 수 있음을 우리 모두가 받아들일 수 있는 문화조성이 더불어 필요할 것이다.

  • It is increased electrical energy consumption with the development of intelligence society in hospitals and thus an energy conservation through efficient use of electricity became more important. This paper shows a reasonable design demand factor in hospitals, that was made by the systematic and statistical way considering actual conditions, such as investigated electric equipment capacity, peak power consumption, demand factor, etc., for 32 hospitals and 9 electrical design offices. In this dissertation, it is necessary to analyze the key features and general trend from the investigated data. It made an analysis of the feature parameters, such as average, standard deviation, median, maximum, minimun and thus it was carried the linear and nonlinear regression analysis.

A Study on University Students' Subjective Perception of Multicultural Society (대학생들의 다문화 사회에 대한 주관적 인식 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to stereotype the subjective perception of multicultural societies of university students and to identify the characteristics and differences by types. To this end, the Q methodology was utilized and 31 college students were selected. According to the analysis, there were four types of university students' perception on multicultural societies. Type 1 was an 'aggressive acceptance' which aggressively and positively embraces multicultures. Type 2 was a 'its national first priority', which put the Korean first before immigrants. Type 3 was 'reasonable acceptance' that accepts multiculturalism within the reasonable and legal bounds. Type 4 was 'limited permission' which agrees to accept immigrants restrictively. Based on the results of this study, thought-provoking ways needed to realize multicultural societies were explored.

  • 농업용수는 우리나라 수자원 사용량 중 약 61%를 차지하고 있으며, 효율적인 수자원 관리를 위한 핵심적인 관리목표 중 하나이다. 논으로 공급되는 관개용수는 필지에서의 증발산량 및 침투량과 용배수로를 통한 자연적 및 인위적인 배수량으로 소비된다. 관개회귀수량 (irrigation return flow)은 관개를 통해 농경지에 공급된 수량 중 증발산에 의해 소비되지 않고 침투 또는 배수 등을 통해 하천으로 회귀되는 수량이다. 관개회귀수량 및 회귀율은 농업용수 물순환 관리에 중요한 역할을 하며, 관개용수 사용량 결정, 합리적인 용수의 공급과 수요 관리계획 및 수질 관리계획 등에 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 하지만, 기상, 작물, 토양 등의 물리적 요소와 농업용수 공급량, 물꼬 조절, 담수심 관리 방식 등 인위적 요소의 영향을 동시에 받기 때문에 그 기작이 복잡한 특징을 갖는다. 따라서, 합리적인 수자원 개발 계획 및 관리를 위해 정확한 관개회귀수량 추정 연구가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 전국 4대강 (한강, 금강, 낙동강, 영산강·섬진강) 권역 중심의 9개 대상지구를 선정하였으며, EPA-SWMM (Environmental Protection Agency-Storm Water Management Model) 모델 기반 수로 네트워크 모의를 활용한 수원공 단위 관개회귀수량을 산정하고자 한다. EPA-SWMM 모의 시 공급량은 농업기반시설관리시스템 (Rural Infrastructure Management System, RIMS) 저수율 자료와 수원공 단위용수량을 활용하였으며, 모의결과 시점부 공급량 및 배수량과 강수량, 증발산량 및 침투량을 활용하여 신속회귀수량과 지연회귀수량을 추정하였다. 본 연구 결과는 최적 농업용수 공급방안에 대한 기초자료 구축에 활용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on the Behavior of Cross Beams in Two-I girder steel bridges (2개의 거더가 적용된 강플레이트 거더교의 가로보 거동에 관한 연구)

  • It is thought that the suggestion of efficient and rational design guideline based on the behavior evaluation of bridge structure system the included cross beam is necessary for the construction efficiency of two-I girder steel bridges. Therefore, in this study, the effects of influence parameters are investigated by the behavior analyses of the bridges, in which the influence parameters are location, spacing and rigidity of the cross beam. For this study, the existed two-I girder steel bridges firstly were selected with the model of case study and the FE analyses for some case models were performed to estimate the action of the cross beam in the bridge. From the analyses, it was estimated that if it consider local stress and load distribution of a floor system, shell and solid elements are compatible to modeling of the cross beams. Also, the efficient design guideline for the cross beam of two-I girder steel bridge was suggested from parameter studies used location, spacing and rigidity of the cross beam.

Development of a Value Inquiry Model in Biology Education (생물교육에서의 가치 탐구 모형 개발)

  • There are many bioethical issues in line with the rapid advance of biology. In this situation, it is important for students to make a rational decision on value problem. In this study 'value inquiry in biology education' is defined as 'the process of rational value judgement and wise decision-making in the biology-related value problem' and the model was developed. To develop the model, value inquiry models were reviewed. Value clarification model is helpful for the formation of the personal value as the process of individual value inquiry, but it isn't helpful for clarifying the value conflicts. Value analysis model focuses on the rational solution of value problem through the logical procedure. But it has the limitations that overemphasizing the logical and systematic aspects results in devaluating students' affective aspects. So it is necessary to coordinate psychological and logical aspects of value inquiry. In this regard, the model was developed, including identifying and clarifying value problem, understanding biological knowledge related to conflict situation, considering on the related persons, searching for alternatives, predicting the consequences of each alternative, selecting the alternative, evaluating the alternative, and final value judgement and affirming it. The educational objectives of value inquiry were selected in consideration of the ability to carry out the steps of the developed model. And the selected contents were animal duplication, test-tube baby, genetic engineering, growth hormone injection problem, brain death, organ transplant, animal to be experimented and were organized on the basis of the 6th and the 7th science curriculum. And the suitable instructional models for the value inquiry education were selected: bioethical value clarification decision-making model, group presentation according to the value analysis model, role play and debate, and discussion through web forum. And the interview was considered to be suitable to evaluate the students' value inquiry ability and the rubric was made to evaluate the attainment of the educational objectives for value inquiry.

Estimation of Undrained Shear Strength Using Piezocone Test (피에조 콘 시험을 이용한 점성토의 비배수 강도 추정)

  • Undrained shear strength of clay deposit is one of the most important properties in the design of geotechnical structures. The use of piezocone test is rapidly growing due to its merit that can measure the in-situ undrained shear strength continuously with less error. The reliability of the shear strength from piezocone test depends upon the cone factor applied. Many researchers have suggested different ranges of values for the factors. This study performs to find out the validity of the suggested values in Korea and their charateristics related to the mechanical properties of clay. Piezocone tests were performed at the site of pilot project of ground improvement at Yangsan-Mulgeum Gyeongnam to investigate the charateristics of piezocone factors. The piezocone fators$(N_{kt}, N_{ke}, N_{\Delta u})$ based on the undrained shear strength from quick triaxial compression test are generally within the suggested range. And there appears considerable relations between undrained shear strength and $(N_{kt}, N_{ke}, N_{\Delta u})$ and between preconsolidation pressure and $(N_{kt}, N_{ke})$, while plasticity index, rigidity index and friction ratio do not show any relations with cone factors. The results also reveal that factor $(N_{\Delta u})$ shows higher reliability than factors $(N_{kt} and N_{ke})$, which show smaller standard deviation, breadth of change and scattering.
