The Variation of Hydraulic Characteristics Depending upon Removal of the Hydraulic Structures near the Junction between Nam Han and Pyeong Chang Rivers (남한강과 평창강 합류부 주변의 수리구조물 제거에 따른 수리특성변화)

  • In this paper, it was analyzed the variation of hydraulic characteristics through changing discharge at main channel and lateral channel and state of hydraulic structure at the natural channel junction by experiment. The experimental area is chosen at the channel junction of Nam-Han river and Pyeongchang river. The scale of the experiment is 1/200 in horizontal, and 1/66.7 in vortical, so the distoration rate is 3. From the experiment, the reduction effect of the water level is $12\%$ in the case of removing intank dam, and $5\%$ at the hydro-electronic dam removing case. Furthermore, in the case of two hydraulic structures removing, the reduction effect of water level is $18\%$ at the channel junction. Also, the stagnation zone, which is cased diminution of the channel at the junction, is decreasing through removing the structures.

Model Development Determining Probabilistic Ramp Merge Capacity Including Forced Merge Type (강제합류 형태를 포함한 확률적 연결로 합류용량 산정 모형 개발)

  • Over the decades, a lot of studies have dealt with the traffic characteristics and phenomena at a merging area. However, relatively few analytical techniques have been developed to evaluate the traffic flow at the area and, especially, the ramp merging capacity has rarely been. This study focused on the merging behaviors that were characterized by the relationship between the shoulder lane flow and the on-ramp flow, and modeled these behaviors to determine ramp merge capacity by using gap acceptance theory. In the process of building the model, both an ideal mergence and a forced mergence were considered when ramp-merging vehicles entered the gap provided by the flow of the shoulder lane. In addition, the model for the critical gap was proposed because the critical gap was the most influential factor to determine merging capacity in the developed models. The developed models showed that the merging capacity value was on the increase as the critical gap decreased and the shoulder lane volume increased. This study has a meaning of modeling the merging behaviors including the forced merging type to determine ramp merging capacity more precisely. The findings of this study would help analyze traffic phenomena and understand traffic behaviors at a merging area, and might be applicable to decide the primary parameters of on-ramp control by considering the effects of ramp merging flow.

Analysis of Breakdown Characteristics by Lane Interaction at Freeway Merging Area with a View of Time and Space (차로별 교통류 상호영향에 따른 고속도로 합류부 교통와해 특성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to perform a basic study on the interaction between lanes, which can be achieved through analyzing traffic breakdown at the microscopic level. Using aerial photographic data for the microscopic analysis, this study analyzed the characteristics of traffic flow at a merging area. This research produced aggregated traffic data such as flows, speeds, and densities in 30 second intervals by lane for the macroscopic analysis and individual headway data by lane for the microscopic analysis. The paper contains an analysis of lane characteristics through flows, speeds, densities, and headway variations and also investigates the influence of ramp flows on mainline flows with space-time diagrams. Firstly, the merging area in this study is divided into three sections: before-merging, during-merging, and after-merging. The transition process was analyzed at each lane. Secondly, the breakdown was observed in detail with data divided in 50-foot units. The breakdown was checked through the relationships between ramp and freeway mainline flows, various techniques were proposed to analyze the breakdown, and the formation of breakdown was introduced as three stages in this study. In the near future, the findings of this study could contribute to determining the dynamic capacity on freeways by easily understanding changeable traffic breakdown patterns over time and space.

  • Creativity is a fine ability among major values of human resource in knowledge-based society. The purpose of this study is to identify the components of the informatics creativity based on domain-specificity and confluence theory. To explore these components, a three-round, classical Delphi process was administered with an expert panel of 31 individuals. All members of the expert panel initially responded to open-ended questions, and the qualitative results were analyzed. The subsequent two rounds of the Delphi required quantitative responses in which the expert panel was asked to indicate the level of importance using a five point Likert scale associated with specific items. As a result of the Delphi survey, total of 32 items were selected as three core areas such as congnitive, affective and environmental components of informatics creativity.

  • 정적 통행배분모형은 도로 건설 등 공급부문에의 적용은 가능하나 통행량 및 혼잡의 시간적 공간적 변화를 고려하지 못하여 수요관리에서는 교통량 및 비용에 대한 관측치와 모형의 결과치가 상이한 문제가 있다. 이에 동적배분모형의 다양한 접근방법이 시도되고 있는데 그 중 Simulation기법을 개발하고자 하였다. 모형은 개별차량의 시공간상 움직임을 포현하고자 절대시간이 가장 이른 차량순으로 시뮬레이션을 함으로써 선입선출(FIFO)을 가능하게 하였다. 각 차량별 지체시간의 계산은 대기행렬 이론을 기초로 한 누적곡선법을 적용하여 도출하였다. 개별차량 Simulation은 시간축으로 확장된 연속류 Network상에서 각 차량의 도착 및 출발할 노드와 시간대를 결정하면 모든 지점에서 누적도착, 출발곡선을 그릴 수 있으며 이를 통해 도로구간에 있어 시간대별 통행시간, 밀도, 속도 등을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 합류부의 용량와 와해현상과 분류부의 용량변화현상 제약 및 Queue길이 제약이 이루어지도록 하였다. 개발된 모형의 검증은 영동대교 북단 강변도로 진출입부 자료를 실측하여 사용하였다. 모형은 합류부 용량와해의 적용 전과 후의 결과를 각각 실측치와 비교하였다. 용량와해현상을 적용한 모형에서 MAPE 10%미만의 우수한 예측력을 보였다. 이는 누적곡선을 이용한 Simulation모형이 현실에 가까움을 의미하는 것이며, 합류부 용량와해현상의 관계식을 보다 정교하게 도출하고 분류부에도 이를 적용한다면 모형의 예측력은 더욱 향상될 것으로 보인다.

Is the Librarianship in Korea a Profession\ulcorner (전문직 이론을 통해 본 사서직의 전문성)

  • The purpose of this article is to discuss on the professionalism of librarianship in Korea. The discussion begins with exploring the conditions which are required for an occupation to be recognized as a profession. The theoretical foundations for discussion is borrowed from 'Theory of Profession' in Sociology. In turn, systematically verified are both public image and librarians' self-confession on librarianship. The weakness and shortcomings of librarianship as a profession are also investigated. Finally suggested we both strategies and methods for the librarianship in Korea to be professionalized.

A Study on Characteristics of Traffic Flow in Congested Traffic at On-Ramp Influence Area (혼잡교통류 상태에서의 연결로 합류부 교통류 특성에 관한 기초 연구)

  • Most traffic congestion on a freeway occurs in the merge area, where conflicts between mainline traffic and on-ramp traffic are frequently generated. So far, research on the merge area has mainly dealt with free flow traffic and research on the congested traffic at the merge area is rare. This study investigates the relationships between mainline traffic and on-ramp traffic at three different segments of the merge area. For this purpose, new indicators based on such traffic variables as flow, speed, and density are used. The results show that a negative relationship exists between mainline and on-ramp flow. It is also found that the speed and the density of the right two lanes in the mainline traffic are significantly affected by the on-ramp flow. Based on the correlation analysis of the indicators, it is confirmed that the ramp influence area is the right two lanes of the freeway mainline. The revealed relationships between mainline and on-ramp traffic may help to analyze the capacity of the downstream freeway segment of the merging area in congested traffic. The findings of this studyalso provide a basis to develop a model that estimates the merge traffic volume in congested traffic, which is neither theoretically nor empirically sound in most other traffic flow models developed so far.

  • The purposes of the reservoir operation during flood period are the reduction of the flood damage in the downstrem reaches and the conservation of flood control for the later use. This paper presents a model of simulation technique to determine the real-time operating rules on an hourly basis. The objective of strategy is to minimize the miximum release through the spillway gates with consideration of the uncertainties associated with the forecasted inflows. In this paper, a general procedure for solving this problem is described for a single and paralle reservoirs.

A Study on Development of Dynamic Traffic Assignment Technique using the Cell Transmission Theory (Cell Transmission 이론을 이용한 동적통행배정기법 개발에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 기존의 Cell Transmission(1994, Daganzo) 교통류 이론을 기반으로 동적통행배정 모형을 개발하는 것이다. 이 모형은 동적 O-D 발생모듈, HOV 차선모듈, 분류부 분할모델, 링크비용함수 모듈, 최단경로 탐색 모듈등으로 구성된다. 이 모델에서 적용하는 교통류 모델은 각 링크를 동일한 특성을 가지는 셀로 구분하여 셀내의 진입시간과 진출시간을 계산하여 링크비용을 계산하는데 이것은 비용의 과대·과소 추정을 피할 수 있으며 교통지체 현상을 현실적으로 표현해 줄 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한 HOV 차선 모듈에 의해 수단별 교통류 진행 및 비용고려가 가능하며 HOV 차선의 평가 및 분석이 가능하다. 기존의 동적통행배정모형은 매 시간대별 출발지에서 균형상태를 추구하는 통행배정기법을 사용하고 있지만 이 모델은 분류되는 노드를 가상의 출발점이라고 가정하여 각 시간대별로 최단경로를 탐색하여 균형상태를 추구해나가는 기법을 적용하고 있다. 각 셀별 차량을 목적지별, 차종별, 대기시간별로 추적하여 진행시키며 분류부에서는 최단경로를 탐색하여 배분된다. 또한 진행하고자 하는 셀의 용량과 현재 셀의 밀도를 고려함으로서 용량제약 하에서의 동적통행배정모형을 적용하고 있다. 이 모형은 고속로의 합류부 및 분류부의 교통특성을 세밀히 분석할 수 있으며, TCS 및 램프미터링과 접목하여 고속도로 운영에 이용될 수 있으며, 고속도로 중·장기적인 계획에 이용될 수 있다.

  • 관측자료 없이 지형인자만으로 미계측 유역의 유출수문해석이 가능한 GIUH(Geomorphologic Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph)의 초기확률을 상안미, 병천, 산계 유역에 대하여 분석하였다. GIUH 이론에서 하천차수가 증가할수록 면적비에 대한 분기비의 영향이 증가하여 대상유역에서의 초기확률이 음수로 발생할 확률이 커진다. 본 연구의 4차하천으로 가정된 모든 대상유역에서의 초기확률 역시 음수로 발생하였다. 뿐만아니라, 3차 하천으로 가정된 경우에도 2차 하천의 합류부에서 유역출구까지의 거리가 짧은 산계유역의 경우에는 면적비에 대한 분기비값이 상대적으로 큰 값을 갖게되어 초기확률이 음수로 발생하였다. 본 연구에서는 초기확률이 음수로 발생하는 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 직접유출면적비를 사용하여 초기확률을 산정하였다. 그 결과, 적절한 초기확률값을 얻을 수 있었으며 순간단위도의 초반부 음수 발생문제를 해결하였다.
