  • In this paper, we study in magnetizing the NdFeB magnet which is inserted in a squirrel cage rotor. The inserted NdFeB magnet need much more magnetizing flux than that of ferrite magnet. Also the eddy current flowing in rotor bar disturbs the magnetizer in magnetizing the NdFeB magnet. The existing magnetizing yoke is designed by increasing the coil turn. But we recognize that only by increasing the coil turn it is impossible to make NdFeB magnet magnetized fully. Hence, in this paper we propose the method of increasing magnetizing flux by reducing the rotor bar area.

  • A DC railway system has low feeder voltage, The remote fault current can be smaller than the current of load starting. So it is important to discriminate between the small fault current and the load starting current. The load starting current increases step by step but the fault current increases all at once. As for the load starting current, the time constant of load current at each step is much smaller than that of the fault current. To detect faults in DC railway systems, an algorithm using the time constant calculated by the method of least squares was presented. But, It have a weakness about harmonic to calculate time constant. So in this paper, new protection algorithm for DC railway systems using estimation of time constant based on fourier transform was presented.

  • In DC traction substation with 12-pulse diode rectifiers, the DC line voltage tends to rise above noload voltage because it can't absorb the regenerative power caused by electric brakes of train. To solve this problem, an IGBT regenerative inverter should be installed and thus recycles the surplus regenerative power by delivering it to the supply grid. In this paper, the DC traction substation equipped with a IGBT regenerative inverter is studied using computer simulation. Matlab/simulink is used to simulate the operation of regenerative inverter which injects the regenerative power into the supply grid and stabilizes the DC line voltage. It is confirmed that the high quality regenerative power is delivered to the supply grid thorough computer simulation.

  • The measurement of magnetic field is performed about DC and AC magnetic field in test track of depot. The test point is cap, on the converter/inverter box, on the traction motor, on the APSE and on the line filter, the height of measurement is bottom and 50 cm height. In case of AC magnetic field, the selected specific frequency is measured on the converter/inverter box. The AC magnetic field is checked and analysis through RS-232C and notebook PC. The DC magnetic field is measured by using the Hall Probe, test result is saved and analysis by PXI system. On the line filter, the maximum value is 1.4 mT in case of DC magnetic field and 0.044 mT in case of AC magnetic field at 50 Hz.

  • AC electric railway feeding system classifies into three groups such as normal, TIE and PP feeding method. If the feeding scheme of ac electric railway is changed, current distribution flowing through the line is also modified. And if the current distribution is altered according to the feeding scheme, returned tendency through rail load current or fault current of the train is changed. So the investigation about error correcting method of protective relay is needed considering feeding scheme. In this paper prior to error correcting of protective relay, through interpreting feeding circuit, changes in current distribution of the rail in accordance with feeding would be predicted and analyzed.

  • This paper presents capability calculation methods for regenerative inverter in DC electrified transit system. The proposed method uses a train performance and power simulation tool to calculate the regenerative power generated in the DC substation and decide the capability of regenerative inverter. The capability of regenerative inverters for Seoul subway line 5, 6, 7, and 8 has been calculated.

  • Microwave는 일반적으로 300 [MHz]~30 [GHz] 사이의 주파수를 가지는 전파로 1 [m] 이하의 파장을 가진다. Microwave를 이용한 플라즈마의 경우 낮은 이온 에너지, 효율적인 전자 가열, 넓은 동작압력 범위, 높은 밀도 등의 장점을 가지고 있어 PECVD(Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition)에 적합한 플라즈마 소스라고 할 수 있다. 또한 Microwave는 파장의 길이가 증착이 이루어지는 진공 챔버의 길이보다 매우 작기 때문에 대면적 적용성이 용이하므로 현재 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Fluid Simulation을 통해 Maxwell's equation, continuity equation, electromagnetic wave equation 등을 이용하여 Microwave의 파워 및 압력에 따른 플라즈마 parameter를 계산하고, 자체 제작한 Linear microwave plasma 장치에서 정전 탐침(Langmuir Probe)을 이용하여 플라즈마 Parameter를 측정하였다. 또한 Simulation 결과와 실험결과를 비교 분석하였다.

  • In this study, the stress intensity factors of center crack are analyzed when it is surrounded by symmetrically distributed small cracks. The values of stress intensity factors of the center crack are greatly influenced by the locations of distributed small cracks. When small cracks overlap or approach near the tip of a center crack, the effect of interaction arisen by these cracks becomes noticeable. In case of multiple distributed small cracks, the stress intensity factor of a center crack is found to be efficiently determined by the superposition method.

  • As automotive manufacturers have taken a growing more interest in tailored sheet metals for improving the rigidity, weight reduction, crash durability, and cost saving application of the tailored sheet metals to automotive bodies has been resently increased greatly. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of fatigue crack initiation behavior of laser welded sheet use for vehicle body panel. We experimented three types of specimens which were machined of the same base metal : one is 1.4㎜ thick, another is 1.6㎜ thick, the others is laser welded of the 1.4mm thick specimen and 1.6㎜ thick specimen. The results indicated that laser welded metal (1.4+1.6㎜) is the best one for fatigue strength and fatigue life.

  • PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient of Resistivity) 소자는 티탄산 바륨 (barium titanate) 계열의 페로브스카이트 (perovskite) 구조를 가지는 물질을 반도체화시켰을 때 큐리온도 부근에서 저항이 1,000배 이상 증가하는 물질을 가리킨다. 처음에는 BaTiO$_3$를 대상으로 12$0^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 발생하는 PTC 현상을 연구하였으나, BaTiO$_3$에 SrTiO$_3$, PbTiO$_3$를 첨가하면, 큐리온도를 낮출 수도 있고, 높일 수도 있어서 PTC 소자의 사용 영역이 넓어졌다. PTC 소자의 응용분야는 1) 천연색 텔레비젼 수상기와 모니터에 사용하는 degausser와 같은 스위칭 소자, 2) 냉장고용 컴프레서등에 사용되는 모터 기동용 소자, 3) 자동차 연료조기증발용 히타와 같은 세라믹 히타 소자로 크게 구분된다.(중략)
