  • The fundamental issue of information retrieval in the Internet-based society is closely interrelated with the characteristics of language selected. The McCune-Reischauer Romanization system is not only considered as the international standard for romanizing Korean language, it is also familiar to the majority of the Korean material users internationally. McCune-Reischauer system is adopted by the ISO, UNGEGN, ALA, LC, British PCGN, BL, and the relevant agencies in Europe, Canada and Australia etc. Encouraging for switching to the new Romanization system(2000) would result in complications among the library's catalogs and online databases, causing confusion for both staffs and readers. This paper analysed that the international efforts and rules for Romanizing Korean language materials and recommended direction for bibliographical issues.

  • After automatic translation system for hangul's romanization based on the World Wide Web converting korean-word, sentence, document to Transliteration letters by applying algorithm based phonological principles. even though a user do not know the basic principles of the usage of Korean-to-Romanization notations, It refers to corresponding character table that has been currently adopted the authority's standard proposition for Korean-to-Romanization notation rule concurrently, add to make possible to convert a machinized code as well. It provides font for toggling Korean-English mode, insert-edit mode by assigning ASCII codes and Unicode are hardly used to them. This program could be made in C++ progamming language and Unified Modeling Language to implement various font. font-expanding and condensing. alternative printing.

  • 하나의 폰트를 제작하기 위해서, 로마자 폰트는 200여자만 디자인하면 되지만, 한글 폰트는 11,172자나 되는 많은 글자를 하나하나 디자인해야 하는 어려움이 있다. 하나의 한글 폰트 제작에 많은 시간과 노력이 드는 기존 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 메타폰트와 같은 프로그래머블 폰트를 이용하는 방법이 제안되었으나, 이를 실제 사용하는 것은 용이하지 않다. 따라서 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 한글 가변폰트 서비스를 위한 한글 매개변수 조절 서비스 "STEMFONT'를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 STEMFONT 서비스에 대한 소개와 더불어 서비스 기능에 맞는 인터페이스 구성에 대해 설명한다. 이러한 인터페이스를 통해 사용자들이 쉽게 폰트를 제작할 수 있다.

  • This study is, by assigning ASCII codes hardly used to Bandaljum(ˇ) and making the fonts of Korean-English character mode, to design the way of converting automatically a word, a sentence or a document of korean into phonetic letters by applying the algorismized phonological principles inputted as a letter string, even though a user do not konw the basic principles of the usage of Korean-to-Romanization notation rule. This is designed so that it may be possible to turn into a mechanical code with reference to the corresponding character in the table of Korean-to-Romanization notation rule that is the currently used standard proposition of the government. Consequently this program makes it user more convenient in the manipulations of special case words, the assistance of colorful-screen or pull-down, pop-up menu and the adoptation of utilizable mouse works for a user convienency. This program could be installed in a single diskette of 5.25"(2HD) and be made in C programming language to mplement various font, expansion or condense of font, alternative printing.ting.

  • Classification criteria for Korean alphabet (Hangul) fonts are undeveloped in comparison to numerical classification systems for Roman alphabet fonts. This study finds important features that distinguish typeface styles in order to help develop numerical criteria for Hangul font classification. We find features that determine the characteristics of the two different styles using a convolutional neural network to create a model that analyzes the learned filters as well as distinguishes between serif and sans-serif styles.

  • The writer discusses the necessity of clear distinction between transliteration and transcription. Romanization problems in Korea have been entangled for decades by confusing and mixing those two. For the transliteration of Hanngul a new system with the utmost simplicity and perfect convertibility is suggested here. For the transcription of Korean sounds another system is suggested which can transcribe even the chroneme as well as all the phonemes. So it surpasses the current Hanngul orthography. Korean sentences containing many pairs of homographic heteronyms are romanized in the two ways side by side for the contrasting of the two systems.

  • 국어 어문 규정 검색 프로그램은 21세기 세종계획 프로젝트의 한민족 언어 정보화 분과에서 개발한 것으로, 한글 맞춤법, 표준어 규정, 외래어 표기법, 국어의 로마자 표기법 등의 어문 규정과 검색어에 대한 어문 규정 설명을 HTML 문서로 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 국어 어문 규정을 검색하기 위한 데이터베이스의 구조와 국민 어문 규정 검색 프로그램의 검색 방법에 대해서 논한다.

  • Recently, as interest in deep learning has increased, many researches in various fields using deep learning techniques have been conducted. Studies on automatic generation of fonts using deep learning-based generation models are limited to several languages such as Roman or Chinese characters. Generating Korean font is a very time-consuming and expensive task, and can be easily created using deep learning. For research on generating Korean fonts, it is important to prepare a Korean font dataset from the viewpoint of process automation in order to keep pace with deep learning-based generation models. In this paper, we propose a Korean font dataset for deep learning-based Korean font research and describe a method of constructing the dataset. Based on the Korean font data set proposed in this paper, we show the usefulness of the proposed dataset configuration through the process of applying it to a deep learning Korean font generation application.
